After updating to iTunes 10.6 I can no longer open up Mail, iPhoto, Garage Band, none of my contacts display in Address Book. It is like this new update has broken all the internal links to my libraries. I have an older MacBook running Snow Leopard.Â

The new iPhoto 8.1 update breaks the email functionality to Entourage 2008, if you're using Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. iPhoto 8.1 can no longer successfully email photos to Entourage 2008. It worked just fine with iPhoto 8.0.4, but no longer works with iPhoto 8.1. This is a SNOW LEOPARD PROBLEM... it works just fine under LEOPARD. The steps to reproduce this problem are as follows:
1. Change iPhoto's preferences to use Entourage as your email client.
2. Choose a photo.
3. Click on the "Email" button.
You will get an error message from the Finder that states "Microsoft Entourage got an error. Can't get content of window'". So you are not able to email a photo through Entourage this way anymore. You have to do it manually.
I prefer seeing my music list sorted by artist's last name. I have gone through and changed all of the Sort Artist fields to lastname, firstname. The new iTunes update has broken this view. When using the Artists column view, Al Green and Adam Sandler are now listed in the goddamn A's.

I have two websites. The old one is DogToysAndTreats.com. The new one is FunStuffForDogs.com. I need to change the home page graphic on both of them to point to my shopping cart pages. I have done this and published the changes on both sites. It works on my Mac but not on my PC.url...the graphic at the top with the bulldogs is supposed to link to url....Same thing on url... Mail has been working well for a year on a mac air. mail had been running on my computer yesterday and, I assume it crashed, because when i got home and opened the computer mail was no longer open. and when I opened it it started running me through setup as if i had never used the program.there was no way to open mail without going through the setup -- that seems to be a problem to me right there.I kept canceling the setup but then it wouldn't launch mail. so finally i went through setup and resetup one of my email accounts. the name of the inbox is slightly different althought , as it turned out, the name of the outbox is identical.
the program recognized that there was already any outbox with this name but instead of linking with that in some way it instead named the new outbox "delivered" that's cool to avoid a conflict but there doesn't appear to be any way to tell the program just to reconnect with the previous boxes. I can import them but then then they come in an import folder. I'd like to get all my mail for a certain account into the same folder, not have what is essentially an archive folder for each account and an active one.
how to reconnect to these old mailboxes as active accounts, or how when importing to merge the appropriate mailbox with the appropriate account.or to restore mailbox settings/preferences or users or whatever was lost. I do have a backup that includes my library files to sugarsync if there is some kind of restore I could try.

Adobe recommends downgrading from Safari 5.1.7 as this version will not open pdfs in Snow Leopard. Where can I find downloads of older (pre 5.1.7) versions of Safari? The apple site keeps forcing me to the download for the most recent 5.1.7 version.

I have to force quit it in order to exit out of it. I have modified the slideshow files so that all the slideshows can play on my powerbook g4 if that helps at all. If I revert back to 8.0 or 8.0.1, iPhoto doesn't crash.

Today I performed a clean install of Snow Leopard on my late 2009 Mac Mini. After completing the installation, I began running software update to bring everything up-to-date.While software update did find and install a number of updates (10.6.8v1.1 Combo update, Security Update 2012-002, Apple Software Installer Update, iLife Support 9.0.4, Remote Desktop Client Update 3.5.3, Airport Utility, Java, Safari) it did not find an update for iTunes (which starts at version 9.x, I believe, in a SL clean install).I assumed that this was some sort of random glitch and manually downloaded and installed iTunes 10.6.3.After that, I re-installed iLife '11 (from a retail DVD, not the App Store).When I ran Software Update again, it found updates for Garage Band, iDVD, and iWeb, but it did not show the updates for iPhoto and iMovie.I found this to be unnerving, as I performed a clean install when I first obtained this Mini a few months ago and didn't experience any of these problems - all of my Apple software updated automatically through Software Update without a hitch.
