OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Mail Can't Open Links?

Mar 6, 2012

Suddenly, when I click a link, mail says "There's no associated application to open the link" or something like that..

The current solution that solved the other user that had the same problem didn't work for me..

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Mail Lost Links To Its Mailboxes

Mar 16, 2012

Mail has been working well for a year on a mac air. mail had been running on my computer yesterday and, I assume it crashed, because when i got home and opened the computer mail was no longer open. and when I opened it it started running me through setup as if i had never used the program.there was no way to open mail without going through the setup -- that seems to be a problem to me right there.I kept canceling the setup but then it wouldn't launch mail. so finally i went through setup and resetup one of my email accounts. the name of the inbox is slightly different althought , as it turned out, the name of the outbox is identical.

the program recognized that there was already any outbox with this name but instead of linking with that in some way it instead named the new outbox "delivered" that's cool to avoid a conflict but there doesn't appear to be any way to tell the program just to reconnect with the previous boxes. I can import them but then then they come  in an import folder. I'd like to get all my mail for a certain account into the same folder, not have what is essentially an archive folder for each account and an active one.

how to reconnect to these old mailboxes as active accounts, or how when importing to merge the appropriate mailbox with the appropriate account.or to restore mailbox settings/preferences or users or whatever was lost. I do have a backup that includes my library files to sugarsync if there is some kind of restore I could try.

MacBook Pro :: Cannot Open Web Links In Mail

Jun 20, 2012

I have three mail accounts setup in Apple Mail app:  Gmail, work email and Me.com email.  Whenever I receive an email with a hyperlink in it I hover over the link and it displays the hyperlink address with "blocked" added to the beginning.  Once I click on the link I receive a message which says "Error:  No associated application could be found".  This happens no matter which email account I am accessing and works with both http and https type links.  I recall having a similar problem using MS Outlook on a Windows machine.

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Mail: Clicking A Message In Inbox Should Open It In A Separate Window?

Feb 14, 2012

Before updating software (10.6.8), in Mail, clicking a message in the inbox caused the message to appear in its own separate window-- not just in the pane below the inbox. I'm not sure why this function is no longer available. I guess I could delete Preferences (where?) and see if that does it.

It works on my Mac in both Safari and Chrome. On my PC, it doesn't work on IE, Safari or Firefox. (BTW, I haven't worked on any of the other links until I can figure out how to do it properly.)

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Mac Mail Loses All Mail In Inbox Except For One Message

Apr 11, 2012

One IMAP account is intermittently losing all mail in inbox except for one message.  After doing opening program the receive wheel spins for a long time, but at this point there are only 170 emails in the inbox because we moved all the rest to the on my mac inbox to try to solve this porblem.  There are two accounts, both from the same provider, but one of them takes a long time to receive new mail.   The wheel spins for a long time - each time it gets mail.

Several times after finishing receive cycle, all the mail that was in the inbox disappears, except for one.  I was able to get the emails to retrn by going into settings>accounts> and changing a random setting and then changing it back the way it was.  All settings appear to be correct and match the other other account that is working correctly.

OS X :: Can't Open Any Internet Links From My Account?

Oct 21, 2010

Lately, I am not able to open any web links from my safari. This happens only when I click on short link on webpage by which I expect it to open another webpage of a different website. Interestingly, I am able to open the same links from the same MacBook but from from a different log in account! I have tried Safari, Firefox, Chrome but with same results. There is something in my profile which is causing this. Any ideas?

I tried to click the 'Download Beta' from Apple/facetime today and it has the same results too.
