Since upgrading on Tuesday night, My mail has been crashing every time I try and compose, and/or, send an email. Also, the hard drive is running continuously, almost as if Time Machine was running or it was defragging. And, some programs, i.e. Second Life, just freeze on start-up.
(Imac 2009, 27", as well as MacBook 13" 2009)
I updated my computer to iTunes 10 today, and now every time I connect my iPad 2 or my iPhone 3G and then click on one or the other of them to do a sync, iTunes completely crashes. Both devices are completely up to date, as is my Macbook Pro. But now I can't sync my devices

Everything was working fine until I updated osx to 10.4.10 and now Logic Express keeps on crashing. The track starts playing fine then the core audio overload message appears then the program crashes when theres very little strain on the system. Ive attached the full error message... If anyone knows what the problem is please let me know.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to Lion (desktop not server) and now my HDD sharing with Windows 7 is not working like it used to. If I boot back in to Snow Leopard (diferent HDD) it's all working fine. My windows 7 PCs can access my shared Mac Pro RAID no problem. If I boot in to Lion they can 'sometimes' connect but mostly not. To get them to connect I seem to have to use the IP address instead of the system name (\MACPROLIONRaid) like I used to with SL.Nothing changed on the Windows 7 system at all, other than now I get the infuriating dialog tellmy my password is incorrect.Some unknown sequence of rebooting one or both machines, sometimes multiple times, will let me access the mac, but I have no idea what's going on here.Â

Recently, in the middle of working with applications in iPhoto09 they simply crash. I get a message stating no harm was done but it's getting annoying as it's happening more often than not. I am new to mac, have had it now for maybe two weeks, but wouldnt expect apps to crash this often. Any thoughts?

Ive tried signing out and back in with the new password, restarting my computer, and even a few things in the settings of my iPhone 6+ and nothing seems to work. Some of my contacts that I can not message are tagged in red when they where not before I updated my apple id password

What I mean is that the link will open the browser (which ever one is set as default,) but the browser opens to the home page instead of going to the page specified by the link in the email. it is not because I haven't set a default browser.

After the last software update my printer wasn't recognizing ink cartridge. So I uninstalled its software. Now I can't find its drivers anywhere. Epson's website says check your Mac software updates and doesn't offer to download the driver directly. But there are no available updates for my computer as of now. How do I find and install the driver?

so after my friend got his gmail account hacked I decided it was time for a new password. Updated it in gmail, on my iphone and iPad and no problems. However friggin' Mac Mail refuses to accept the new password. I even wrote it out in Text Edit and pasted it into both the gmail web interface and mac mail. Gmail web interface works just fine but Mac Mail refuses to accept the new password.
Is there any way I can fix this save for deleting my gmail account and recreating it(something I am want to do since I have a metric ton of messages).
Oy, Apple ignoring these tiny bugs is getting quite annoying....
For what its worth I'm on 10.6.4 and everything else is up to date.
Update, now I'm getting "The server returned the error: Web login required. (Failure)"
but it doesn't clear when I log into the web mail....
I guess the Mail application on my Macbook updated recently, because when I opened it said it needed to import all of my existing messages to use the new features. The problem is it keeps getting stuck at the same point every time. I've tried it over and over, including restarts, and it always stops at the same point. Here is a screenshot.

Daily hard freeze, sometimes when booting up, sometimes after working for hours. Console offers no clue that I can decifer. Thought at first it was Thunderbolt running my second monitor. Now I think it is Firewire 800 connected to my WD MyBook 2T external drive. I use this drive with Time Capsule exclusively. Nothing else lives on the drive, so it is only hit once an hour. Never crashes while backing up.

Firstly I am sorry if this has been posted before, but I did have a look at the Snow Leopard FAQ & a browse through the current topics. And secondly, I am also sorry if I am not using appropriate computer language to describe certain things. I have a 17 inch Macbook Pro I bought in the middle of last year. Before Snow Leopard. So when Snow Leopard came along I went for the upgrade without looking around at compatibility issues with certain software.
So after the upgrade, my EyeTV didn't work, and neither did my internet (I use the ones with the USB stick). So I couldn't even go online to get my EyeTV update. So in my (brief) panick I re-installed Leopard, which wasn't a great idea I guess, because all of a sudden my HD space went down to 50GB from my 500GB of storage. Now I know I didn't have the full 500GB since I did have some photos, music & videos on board. But surely 50GB remaining is quite ridiculous. I think it probably performed a Time Machine backup for me.
Anyway... that was awhile ago. And I was happy to carry on with what I had. But now I think I would like to try what Snow Leopard has to offer. But with only 18GB of space remaining, I think the best option might be to reformat and start over. What do you guys think? My other option is to try to delete as much as I can spare to make room for Snow Leopard. Sorry if this question is a silly one, but I have done a lot of things with my iPhone & with this Mac without thinking & asking first & I have always regretted it. Thanks for any help or suggestions you all can offer.
About 10 times a day, Mail just crashes. I can't detect any pattern.

I am using Leopard version 10.5.5 on a Mac Pro and Mail keeps crashing when trying to sync accounts.
I have two MobileMe accounts that sync with the account, and it always crashes while doing a search for new mail.
It was working fine this morning, I then turned my computer off to go to work, the only difference now is that I started my computer up with my iPhone connected. At first I thought that may have been the problem, so I restarted without it.
Now for the actual question; If I can't resolve it, does anyone think that deleting the Preferences file will fix it.
Everytime I launch Mail it works for about 2 seconds and then beach balls. I do have Safari 4 Beta installed but I DO NOT have GrowlMail installed. Any other reasons on why Mail would be crashing.

I recently (2 months ago) purchased a new mac book pro and migrated everything from my older mac book pro running Snow Leopard to Lion.Since moving to Lion I have been experiencing frequent crashes of Mac Mail, I spend a large portion of my work day in mail and experience this as many as a dozen times a day. 1) composing an email,
2) when clicking a link in an email
3) clicking the attachment icon to add an attachment
4) clicking on an attachment that has been sent to me
5) somestimes just trying to exit/close Mac Mail and the it hangs and I have tp force quit. After Mac Mail crashes and is restarted, clicking on the same link or attachment will workI have removed my mail IMAP folder and settings and re-established the connection from scratch but the problem persists.I have ran the disk permissions repair utility and the problem persists. I have ran the verfiy disk utility and it reports no problems.I have ran the Apple hardware tests including the extended tests and no hardware issues are found. Has one experienced somewthing similiar?Does anyone have any suggestions where to start looking for the root cause? We are using a Imac 27" mid 2010, Mac OS Lion. When an email arrives while working in Quark or Photoshop (and other programs) we leave the program and go to mail to read it. On returning to either Quark or Photoshop etc the program has stopped responding requiring a force quit. Mail also seems to be running slower than usual.

it happened to me before when i try to open a certain email from my friend. now when i open Mail, it automatically opens the first email on the list, and it's another email which has the same problem.
