Applications :: How Do You Make Full Pages In Pages?
May 12, 2010I'm trying to create pages that have all black backgrounds. I've been doing this by using the Shapes tool, choosing a rectangle, filling in the entire white space for the page, which is 8x11, and then filling in with black.
The problem is that when I do this, Pages seems to think that I want this page and the following page to be connected, in some way. When I look at the two pages in the thumnail view, the yellow outline is around both pages, rather than each individually.
Anybody know how to keep this from happening. Or the right way to create full black backgrounds for pages in Pages?
OS X :: Way To Use Spaces Independent Of Each Monitor?
Apr 14, 2008i was wondering if their is any way to use spaces independent of each monitor,
meaning that if space 1 was on monitor 1, and space 2 was on monitor 2, i could switch monitor 2 to space 3 while keeping monitor 1 on space 1.
i feel that this will be a better way to use spaces with multiple monitors, rather than many extended desktops.say you want internet work on one space, then different word documents on 2 other spaces. if you could switch between those documents while keeping the internet on the same space.i know that this can be sort of accomplished be setting apps to appear in every window, but that is a hack and annoying solution.this would be a great addition to 10.3 - more customization!
OS X :: Independent Settings For Saved Networks?
Sep 14, 2009I am using two different routers to connect to the internet (obviously not at the same time). The thing is, each of them is set up differently and i need to change the settings manually each time i switch. For example, one of them needs me to manually type my ip etc... while the other needs the auto dchp setting. Is there a way to have these settings assigned to each network so i don't have to change them all the time? I'm really surprised that i couldn't find out how to do that in OSX (Leopard 10.5.8), while at the same time i can do that on my ipod touch....

Aug 20, 2014Can I just remove one of the drives and what are the consequences of the removal. I would like to go from a mirrored raid to a carbon copy of the disk which would be updated weekly and use Time Machine in between.
Do I open up a can of worms - my suspicion is that if I want to do that I'll have to reformat the RAID with the loss of all data.
Any workaround short of making a copy, removing the raid and restoring the data?

Jul 24, 2010I have a 24" iMac and when my mom opens up Pages she can see the icons for Inspector and Fonts and everything just fine but she can't see jack ***** on the toolbar below that - the one with the font, justification, etc. options. I can make the Fonts and Inspector icons even bigger but can't do anything with the toolbar below that. Why? And why can't I find anything at all in Settings or on the Apple site about doing that? My mom isn't even a senior - no clue how anyone over 60 could see anything.
I can change the resolution of the whole screen but that's a pretty clunky solution.
It's absolutely tiny. How do I make it bigger?

Mar 6, 2012how to make a vertical dotted line in Pages, I've been to Inspector and went to the T, then to Borders and Shading. It does let me make a dotted line but not vertically. Is there any other way to flip the line vertically or another way to make a line so it is vertical?

Apr 8, 2008I want to connect speakers and a headphone to my Imac at the same time.Since there is only one audio output in the imac, I need a audio splitter and I think I need a headphone splitter then?Now the problem is there is no volume control on my headphone and I want it at a different volume then my speakers, otherwise when I turn my speakers on and the headphones are still connected and I turn volume up loud it will ruin my headphone ( and I don't want my software volume almost down and my speaker control way up)Now I found this headphone splitter, but my question is, will the sound quality still be the same because I need the same sound quality.

I have several Gmail accounts, and I want to simultaneously log in to all of them in different browser windows. However, since Safari manages a central cookie database, I can't log into one of these Gmail accounts without signing out from another. With separate Safari instances that maintain separate cookie databases, I could simultaneously keep multiple Gmail windows open.

These give far too much unnecessary information, but I need to be able to easily see who else the message has been sent to. OS X :: No Contents In Headers - Unable To Delete / Move Mail
Jul 17, 2009I have a problem with my inbox, seems its corrupted in some way. I can see the headers, but no contents, cant delete or move message. All other folders seem Ok. Its from a POP3 mailbox where the originals are deleted off the server when downloaded so I'd prefer to try and recover it but I can live with losing the contents if necessary. Any ideas? Is there a tool or way to repair? I have Time Machine but I doubt the TM backup will have caught these files between them being downloaded (they came in one batch) and being corrupted as it was only a few minutes. Not sure how I could tell if TM did catch them either. TM did recover them, now I just need to work out how to empty the inbox of the corrupt messages. Worst case I can create a new email account but I'd rather not as configuring it was troublesome. Mailbox > rebuild, then move the messages from the TM mail recovered folder back to inbox.

Nov 9, 2010For no apparent reason, now when I create a new mailbox, the first column header contains a mystery icon consisting of two arrows, one pointing northwest and the other pointing southeast. When I right-click on the headers, there is no corresponding item in the pop-up menu (e.g. Attachments, To, From), so I have no clue what it is, nor can I hide it. Mailboxes I created prior to whatever it is that changed do not have this icon. I have not changed my OS, nor the version of Mail I am using. Can anyone tell me what this icon/column is for, and how I can get rid of it??

Dec 10, 2014I just recently decided to try iMap for my google mail so that I could more efficiently read my mail on my devices and computer. Since setting up iMap, I've had a strange problem. I will open a message and the message will not be from the person that the subject and headers say it is from. Example. I get a Kohl's email with headers from amazon and then in the Amazon email is my Kohl's message. They look fine if I access the emails online through a web browser, so somehow they are getting messed up after being downloaded into Mail. This did not happen when I was using the Pop method of accessing my email accounts.

Sep 17, 2008When copying a table from say a webpage or even a RTF file, Pages does not retain its table formatting. Instead it separates the rows and columns and puts them on separate lines.
See it for yourself, try copying one of the tables on this page into Pages [URL]
The only way I can get the table into Pages is to paste into NeoOffice (which retains the correct formating), save the file with the .doc extension then open in Pages.

Mar 31, 2008i have a early 2008 octo mac pro, with it im using a philips 220ws, the problem i'm having is that scrolling a page be it safari, firefox or a pages doc. it seems to jutter along and doesnt move as smooth as my mac book,and when typing into either msn messenger, pages or even text edit letters seem to lag behind what im typing, ok it may only be for a secon and about 2 letters behind burt it gets annoying worse when back spacing. does anyone else have the problem or possible fix? im not using anything more than than the word processor, safari and msn at a time
