I'm building a presentation in Keynote 09 and cannot seem to add a shadow to text inside a table. I've selected the table, the individual cells and the text itself and the shadow checkbox on the menu is no where to be found.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAs a recent convert from PowerPoint to Keynote 09, I can't figure out how to do the following: In PowerPoint, I'd often have text animations (e.g. bullet points would appear in a certain way when the mouse clicked) such that the bullet points would appear in groups. For example, the first two would appear together, then on the next mouse click, the next three would appear at the same time. In Keynote it seems you can do this, but the bullets don't appear together, the second will only appear when the first has finished "appearing". Is it possible to get the bullets to appear in groups on a mouse click?

Strangely, I can't see any of the images being played and it's just a blank white square in the middle of the fully blacked out screen. What do I press to get this to stop and the program to close?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm stuck on a rather buggy problem. I'm trying to produce animated gifs with transparent backgrounds for incorporation into a Keynote (v. 3) presentation. [The individual frames of the substantial animations I am creating are being produced in Matlab using the "print -dpng" command with white backgrounds, which I then want to make transparent.] I seem to be able to download silly animated gifs with transparent backgrounds from the web that display correctly in Keynote. But when I produce such animations myself using convert [from the imagemagick suite, both the version distributed with fink and the more recent version available at [URL] all frames after the first display with white backgrounds in Keynote (but look ok elsewhere). Optimizing the animated transparent gifs in adobe ImageReady CS (v. 1) Does anyone know a good mac program to make animated gifs (with transparent backgrounds) that display correctly in the latest version of Keynote?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create pages that have all black backgrounds. I've been doing this by using the Shapes tool, choosing a rectangle, filling in the entire white space for the page, which is 8x11, and then filling in with black.
The problem is that when I do this, Pages seems to think that I want this page and the following page to be connected, in some way. When I look at the two pages in the thumnail view, the yellow outline is around both pages, rather than each individually.
Anybody know how to keep this from happening. Or the right way to create full black backgrounds for pages in Pages?
I'm using Pages 08 and for some reason its just started no showing any text. I've started a new blank document from template chooser and everytime I type anything in a text box I have to highlight it so I can see it. It then comes up in purple but only when highlighted. The same happens with images. I'm running 10.6.2 on a brand new LED iMac 21.5".
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm in the middle of revision for exams and I'd like to be able to highlight certain portions of text in pages documents. Bold won't do, nor underline (they already have purposes). Can I highlight in Pages (say set a yellow text backgrond as I don't want to do print runs on my notes until I have to (and have reduced them down as much as possible).
The text color in iWorks Pages (08) seems to be inverted. Though the text colour is set to black all the text appears white. I couldn't find any way to change this "setting" so the colour appears normal again.

Thing is, I can view the document using QuickLook, no problem. Any way I can recover the text? (Tried TextEdit, Text Wrangler & BBedit, no joy). Why doesn't Pages keep backup / Autosave files?

In MS Word, I would simply select the last part of the line and click the "align to right" button. But when I do this in Pages, it aligns the ENTIRE line to the right.
just a short question: Can anybody tell me a program/way to export my PAGES document to a PDF with all the used fonts and graphics embedded? I want that it looks exactely the same on e.g. a Windows computer on which the used fonts aren't installed. Unfortunately, even the Word exporting fuction of Pages doesn't seem very reliable - or do I do something wrong? I sometimes even lose bold/italic format etc. Very strange ... Anyway, I need a way to send somebody this text either as a Word or PDF file which won't make problems and look the same.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a 24" iMac and when my mom opens up Pages she can see the icons for Inspector and Fonts and everything just fine but she can't see jack ***** on the toolbar below that - the one with the font, justification, etc. options. I can make the Fonts and Inspector icons even bigger but can't do anything with the toolbar below that. Why? And why can't I find anything at all in Settings or on the Apple site about doing that? My mom isn't even a senior - no clue how anyone over 60 could see anything.
I can change the resolution of the whole screen but that's a pretty clunky solution.
It's absolutely tiny. How do I make it bigger?
I recently tried to download a free trial of World of Warcraft for Macs but instead screwed up the display settings on my Macbook (version 10.6.4 OS X). I removed it from the computer when the game didn't play, it just gave a black screen, at which point I had restarted the computer to find text sizes magnified, the display setting changed so the whole screen wasn't being used, etc. I was able to change the screen display size no problem but cannot figure out how to make the icons and text in boxes such as applications in the dock, or system preferences folder smaller. Is there a way, without reinstalling the operating system, to reset these minor settings? I could live with the changes but would rather not.

I know I will be using a Macbook 2,1 tomorrow for the presentation. Does anyone know if all the transitions will work or would if be safer to export it as a movie file?

View 8 Replies View RelatedFirefox' site rendering is much more fluid than Safari's. Safari loads the BACKGROUND again and again with each click completely upsetting the eye. Firefox has the background steadily black as it is and loads the randomized image properly without any kind of irritation.Is there a way to make Safari load pages more efficiently like Firefox?Or is it just a rendering of all WebKit browsers that behaves like that?
