Safari :: My 5.1.7 Randomly Refresh
Jun 12, 2012Since upgrading my iMac to the latest versions of Lion and Safari, I have noticed that the browser sporadically refreshes. This is most apparent while adding items from a Perl scripted shopping cart (url...) but I have also noticed it when viewing images in a Google search. The random refreshes do no occur in mobile Safari, nor in Firefox 12.

Aug 20, 2009So I'm so sick of Firefox problems that I'm switching to Safari but there is no refresh button and also no stop button. Not even in the Customize toolbar, where you drag icons. What's up with that?

Apr 14, 2012I am using Safari (latest version: 5.1.5 (6534.55.3)) on a MacBook Pro (1.83Ghz Intel core duo), running OSX v.10.6.8 and have a curious issue that occurs whilst navigating between pages in Safari on occasion (not all the time):I can click on the link or navigate to the page, and the page appears to finish loading, but the previous page is still visible.Despite appearances, the page has in fact loaded, and clicking somewhere on the screen could load a link from this invisibly loaded page.It is just that the window hasn't refreshed.Is there an obvious solution to get the screen to refresh? Reloading (refreshing with cmd-R) the page doesn't do anything; the only way of making it visible is to force a window redraw by adjusting the size of window.

Safari :: Won't Fully Load Webpages Until Refresh
Apr 22, 2012For several months now safari has not been loading web pages properly (not them all, it is a bit random, but maybe every 3rd or 4th page I open?). The blue loading bar gets to about 1.5 inches from the end and stops. I can then click on the bar and refresh and it loads no problems but this is highly inconvenient and I can't seem to fix it. Â
I have reset safari, updated all software, I am on a mac book pro, I have Version 5.1.5 safari. Â
Would this be an internet problem rather than a software problem? How would I check.Â
It's not very convenient when you're doing something important like trying to get tickets for an event and then it jams, and you know you need to refresh but if you refresh you've lost the tickets...

Jun 7, 2010Just did update to Safari 5.0 via software update. G4 Dual 867 OSX 10.5.8. Crashes every time I attempt to click on any link. Starts to connect, Beachball-crash. If left idle, without clicking any link, still crashes after less than a minute. Fixed permissions, re-installed with download from Apple site, permissions again..... no difference. Disabled Click to Flash, Ad Blocker...same thing. Just won't work!!!

Oct 2, 2010After Latest update (security update) that came out not so long ago, my safari experience has gone from good to bad. I have crash on me at least twice a day. Anyone else had this? I noticed that it usually happens when I try to compose email on Gmail, when I press compose and enter my friends email press enter to select contact, after that the wheel starts spinning and then you get "Safari quit unexpectedly"
Does anyone else have this issue? Also my startup times started to get slower.

Mar 15, 2012I upgraded to Safari 5.1.4 yesterday, and now about every 20-30 minutes, my web pages all reload. I will be in the middle of a transaction and the page will reload and I will lose whatever I was working on. If I have a tab that was logged into my email, the web page reloads and I have to re-login to my email account.I can't find any way to disable this and it's incredibly frustrating. I was in the midst of buying a plane ticket last night and the web page reloaded when I was in the middle of purchasing the ticket.It actually happened when I was trying to post this thread, and I had to rewrite the entire post again.

May 24, 2012I like to open up news websites to get my news. I find a story I am interested in and click the link and read the story. The problem is that when I return to the front page of that website, Safari immediately refreshes the page and makes me wait a few seconds before I can click on another link I was interested in. It is extremely annoying to have to wait for a refresh everytime I go back to the page. Seems a lot worse after the 5.1.7 update.

I have the new macbook with all the regular apple software, and the plugins for QT, flash etc - nothing like saft etc.
receenlty sfari crashes on facebook, after i click on a few pages - not straight away.
I have no idea what to do - or if there are anything that might be on my computer that messes with this?

Dec 2, 2014I have the 2013 15 inch retina Macbook Pro and I have been having a problem with it lately. Whenever I use safari, my browser is freezing constantly. Its is only when I use safari, not any other applications, such as Microsoft word. Normally, I wouldn't consider this a big issue, but it gets worse. When I don't navigate on my computer and let it rest for a minute or so (while running safari and sometimes other applications) this screen pops up:
I have not dropped my computer, nor done anything to cause any damage to it.

Sep 15, 2009I upgraded to Flash Player 10 a few days ago, and since then both Safari and Firefox are crashing almost every time i visit a page with Flash. I have tried uninstalling flash and reinstalling a developer's copy of version 9 but the crashes continue.
I have read a lot of complaints about similar problems, but have not been able to find a solution or even an explanation as to why it's happening. So I don't know if it's a conflict with the latest version of Leopard (not Snow) or what.

Nov 1, 2009Safari has been crashing for me every time I open it. It's mostly on sites like YouTube, which leads me to believe that it's a flash problem. When I open the page it just freezes up and the pinwheel just keeps spinning and spinning. I noticed these problems on my MacBook after I upgraded to Snow Leopard, and now they are arising again on my recently purchased Mac Pro (also running SL). I'm running latest version of SL, Safari, and Flash.
