Just downloaded Safari for windows. I am such a Mac fan that I have even betrayed firefox but serioulsy. Safari is lighting fast. Anyways, Question: how do I change the refresh rate of RSS bookmarks in safari? I want like 5 mins instead of 30 for which they give the option. Also, can I have multiple user profiles in safari like I did in firefox?

View 4 Replies View RelatedHave spent many years with PCs, I can't get used to the speed of the cursor in the programs I use - web forms, emails, Pages etc. I don't mean the blink rate - I know how to change that. I mean the speed at which I can scan across lines of text. The cursor seems slower than my xp machines. What setting might I have missed? I don't recall being able to change the rate of movement across the lines in an xp machine.

This is most apparent while adding items from a Perl scripted shopping cart (url...) but I have also noticed it when viewing images in a Google search. The random refreshes do no occur in mobile Safari, nor in Firefox 12.

So I'm so sick of Firefox problems that I'm switching to Safari but there is no refresh button and also no stop button. Not even in the Customize toolbar, where you drag icons. What's up with that?

I like and use Top Sites but it has become unsuable with this constant blacking out and reloading the thumbnails. My MBP has not seen a problem at all.Â
I have been searching every other day for over a month trying to find a fix in Windows Safari with no joy. I want to resolve, not switch browsers. only refreshes the Top Site thumbnails once a day or as some controlable interval. Started about two versions ago, now on ver 5.1.5. Windows 7 64bit.

I am using Safari (latest version: 5.1.5 (6534.55.3)) on a MacBook Pro (1.83Ghz Intel core duo), running OSX v.10.6.8 and have a curious issue that occurs whilst navigating between pages in Safari on occasion (not all the time):I can click on the link or navigate to the page, and the page appears to finish loading, but the previous page is still visible.Despite appearances, the page has in fact loaded, and clicking somewhere on the screen could load a link from this invisibly loaded page.It is just that the window hasn't refreshed.Is there an obvious solution to get the screen to refresh? Reloading (refreshing with cmd-R) the page doesn't do anything; the only way of making it visible is to force a window redraw by adjusting the size of window.

For several months now safari has not been loading web pages properly (not them all, it is a bit random, but maybe every 3rd or 4th page I open?). The blue loading bar gets to about 1.5 inches from the end and stops. I can then click on the bar and refresh and it loads no problems but this is highly inconvenient and I can't seem to fix it. Â
I have reset safari, updated all software, I am on a mac book pro, I have Version 5.1.5 safari. Â
Would this be an internet problem rather than a software problem? How would I check.Â
It's not very convenient when you're doing something important like trying to get tickets for an event and then it jams, and you know you need to refresh but if you refresh you've lost the tickets...

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have google as my homepage. Whenever I open safari and type in search criteria and hit enter... it "refreshes" the page and clears what I've written. The second time around always works. I don't understand what is happening. And it is not just when I open safari. I can go to google after posting on MR and type in the search box>hit enter>the page flashes as if I had hit the reset button and clears my text>type in the search box again>hit enter - and it work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just upgraded to snow leopard and found a problem with my Safari browser - I cannot change my homepage to [URL] or any other page, the preferences always revert my homepage to the apple homepage.
When I installed 10.6, I did a "clean install" then copied over my bookmarks and history files from my backup drive. I then ran software update to update everything to the latest versions.
Try as I might how do I get into Safari prefs to change it to 32bit working ?

I use auto-fill on Web page forms very frequently. Of course, every time I auto-fill my address info, my original house number comes up, and I have to edit it to the new number. I am doing an initial back up for Time Machine. I've got 56Gigs worth of data to back up from my 2Ghz Uni Body MacBook (with 4gig of Ram & running OS 10.5.7). I have a newly purchased Airport Extreme base station to which is connected to a Western Digital 1 Gig External HD. I am getting a transfer rate of about 1 gig per hour. Is it really this slow? I am using a 5Ghz network to reduce interference and they are very close to each other.
I tried connecting the WD drive to the MB. After I switched off Virus Barrier V5 and stopped Spotlight indexing it was quite fast. However there didn't seem a way of tricking this backup to think it was done via Airport Extreme. How could this be done?
It looks like my MB is going to have to be left on and stay at home for the next couple of days!
Safari has changed fonts on me; some, but not all, fonts on websites are now presented in some clunky cartoonish font. This is mostly fonts at smaller sizes. I've checked my preferences and the fonts specced there are the usual, Times & Courier. The only new thing is that I recently installed Pith Helmet. There seems to be no mention of any kind of font issues witrh PH, and an uninstall of it has made no difference.

When I open a Spreadsheet that was made in Excel 2003 on windows that has some cells colored in, make any change then save, all the colors that the cells are shaded change. They originally are bright colors and after saving on my Mac they've changed to muddy, dark versions.
As these sheets are used by multiple people this has made me quite unpopular in the office!
