I'm using Mac OS X 10.6.2 and I think that was working in the past: I used to be able to chat with my MSN contacts. Now I get this error. iChat can't communicate with the jabber account "@hotmail". The operation couldn't be completed. Operation timed out. I checked my password, and it is correct. I can check my Hotmail emails using those credentials. I didn't change the server settings as well.
View 6 Replies View RelatedEvery time I put the code in for my iTunes gift card, I get the following message:Your session has timed out. Try again. In delving into my accounts, I'm so confused by all the different ID's, email addresses, I've reset (unintentionally) my password more times than I care to remember. My iTunes is a mess; is it possible to delete accounts? I'm ready to delete all and start fresh, but I have such a nice collection of songs that I've purchased.

I am having trouble connecting to MacBookPro01 from MacBookPro02 via SSH.
The details is as follow :
MacBookPro01 has remote login activated for all users, is connected to the internet via Wifi, and uses a VPN (AstrillVPN) constantly.
MacBookPro02 is connected to the internet via Wifi on the same network as MacBookPro01 and uses a VPN (AstrillVPN) constantly.
From MacBookPro02, I enter "ssh computer name@XXX.XXX.X.XXX" in Terminal.
All I get is : "ssh: connect to host XXX.XXX.X.XXX port 22: Operation timed out".

So I recently moved into a new apartment with my 2 roommates, one of which has a macbook, while the other has a desktop that is plugged directly into the router. My macbook roomie has no issues with the WiFi. I, however, have been having numerous issues. It mostly seems to be with posting things, sending emails, logging into websites, and playing videos. 9/10 times I can't post topics onto message boards or update my facebook status. My Gmail almost always works well, while my college email can't send a thing. On twitter I often cannot load the next set of tweets. I was trying to order a textbook online today, I added to cart, and when I went to complete the checkout, the connection timed out. I can do all of these things, however, on the WiFi network on campus at school. Basically what I'm asking is, is this a problem on my end that I can fix? I doubt that the problem lies with our internet providers, because I can have my laptop side by side with my roommates, and he has no issues.
View 12 Replies View RelatedYesterday I got my new iMac 21,5'. After starting it up, the airport would not work. The open network (not password protected) was detected, but every attempt to connect to it ended with a "timed out" error message. I tried to deactivate and reactivate the airport a few times. With no luck. Both my iphone and a cheap netbook would get a valid connection in the meantime. So it's not a network issue.
It's a d-link router and it's about half a meter from the imac. My previous macbook with tiger worked perfectly with this connection. I tried to change the wireless channel from 7 to 6 and this did not solve the issue. Or at least not right away. I tried again after say 15 minutes, and it worked. However, tried again in the morning, and got the "timed out" error message one more time. I have installed the airport software update
I have two gmail accounts set up with Mail, but as of yesterday, neither will work. I get a connection failed error (port 993 timed out). I've triple checked all my settings and everything is fine. nothing changed, so i don't understand why it won't work. also, mail has been acting strange overall. if i want to quit it, i have had to force quit it with finder because it won't close on its on.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI find direct to vimeo uploads useful from FCPX because clients can view/stream or download files depending on their requirements.
But since I upgraded to 10.1.3 the uploads fail about 50% of the time. Error message "Upload to vimeo failed. Request timed out".
I can't find anything wrong. Is it just a bug with this version of FCP?
I'm aware the workaround is quite simple (Share to disk then upload from there) but due to the volume of stuff I'm exporting (e.g. testing 60 different music tracks on the same 30 second film) the direct upload shortcut can actually save me large amounts of time.

Up until this past Tuesday, I was able to print from Mac Mini with my HP Laserjet 1200 printer connected to my Airport. Now I receive the following message: Now my printer keeps pausing itself every time I try to print a document. If I unpause it it prints a page saying "operation timed out" Then when I click on HP Officejet -> Printer ->Network Diagnostic I see that everything is green lit with the exception of "Server" which is saying failed and I get this message: Network Diagnostic was able to connect to the Internet, but not to the server "HP Officejet J5700 series.pdl-datastream.tcp.local.". This could be caused by problems with the server, or an Internet problem between computer and server. I've done the unplugging Aiport and Printer, deleting and reinstalling System Preferences.

I recently purchased the Bluray for "Haywire" that included a digital copy. I have followed the directions for download into iTunes included w/ the Bluray that directs me to www.lionsgatedigitalcopy.com/redeem. I have entered the code on multiple occasions w/ the same result - Session Timed Out in iTunes. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I have contacted Lionsgate support and they say they are not distributing "Haywire" in the US and therefore cannot help.

today i found that Mail has stopped working for no obvious reason. It wont send or receive emails, but when i check by signing into .mac itself, the messages have arrived and everything appears normal.Mail won't quit either... then every so often a box with the following text appears:'Some actions taken while the account 'enter.mac address here' was offline could not be completed online.Mail has undone actions on some messages so that you can redo the actions while online. Mail has saved other messages in mailbox "on my mac" in "on my mac" so that you can complete the actions while online.Additional information: The connection to the server "mail.mac.com" on port 143 timed out.
