Final Cut Pro X :: Uploads To Vimeo Failing Since Upgrade - Request Timed Out
Aug 28, 2014I find direct to vimeo uploads useful from FCPX because clients can view/stream or download files depending on their requirements.
But since I upgraded to 10.1.3 the uploads fail about 50% of the time. Error message "Upload to vimeo failed. Request timed out".
I can't find anything wrong. Is it just a bug with this version of FCP?
I'm aware the workaround is quite simple (Share to disk then upload from there) but due to the volume of stuff I'm exporting (e.g. testing 60 different music tracks on the same 30 second film) the direct upload shortcut can actually save me large amounts of time.
Software :: Airport Doesn't Work With Comcast
Jun 27, 2006I just moved houses and stayed using the same internet provider (comcast high speed internet cable modem). I went to the new house and plugged in my macbook pro and it got on to the internet no problem using DHCP and an ethernet connection. Now I went to set up my airport extreme, and I set it using DHCP and tried to connect, and it just sits there when it tries to access a page. I was using in my old house an airport extreme linked to another using WDS so I could extend the range and it worked no problem. I tried on both of them just using DHCP and it doesn't seem to work. I tried doing a hard reset on one and setting it up using the assistant, and still no luck. I even programmed in the values that I get when I use my ethernet connection as a manual setting in the airport, and still no good.
am stumped as I figured DCHP should just work with the airport.. I do not use any domains/other routers yet, and I don't see what the problem should be. I am even getting the same issue when I did this with a linksys router. Is there something I can do to get this to work on the MacBook Pro/a preference to trash?
Safari :: 5 Won't Login To Comcast
Mar 10, 2012After updating to safari 5 and several system updates (including 10.6.8) safari will not login to Comcast account, on my MacBook pro. The login just returns me to the login page with no message of a problem.
Firefox has no problem doing so and another (freshly made) user account on the same computer logs on fine. I've tried cleaning the cache, deleting the cookies, resetting safari settings to default, deleting the preferences, and deleting the user/library/safari folder. Also i did all these again and the deleted safari app and reinstalled it fresh. None of these have worked. The problem obviously lies in the user folder.
There was suggestion somewhere else about certificates. I deleted the ones that they suggested but that didn't help. I don't trust they were the right ones. If that might be the issue how do I identify which ones Comcast might be using.
OS X :: Ebay And Safari - Constant Login Request?
Sep 27, 2010I have just purchased my new iMac having made the leap from PC. Overall I love my new machine (and the iPhone and Apple TV that accompany it...) However, in a bid to recoup some of the large outlay, I was seeking to list lots of things on eBay this weekend. However, at what appeared to be almost every other key stroke/action I was returned to the home screen and asked for my login details again, and again, and again! Clicking the 'remember me' box made no difference whatsoever.

Dec 5, 2009I just moved to a new place and hooked up comcast internet. The place already had cable, we just hooked up the internet in addition. However, I can't get my macbook online!
2 hours on the phone, 2 different cable modems (one comcast and now a new linksys cm100) and a service call later and still nothing!
Here's the thing. It HAS to be my computer.
The service guy was able to connect to the internet both directly connected to the cable modem itself, and then again through (direct line, not wireless) through my time capsule as well, no problem!
I can't connect at all though! Before they came out or after. Nada, nothing.
I am on a C2D SR macbook running 10.6.2
I can get on the wireless at my parents house, (comcast) the next door neighbors, (comcast) my boyfriends, and directly connect to the internet here as well (I think, last week when I tried anyway)
What in the world could be wrong?
I can't connect wirelessly via my timecapsule through that connection either, but i don't care so much, as long as I can direct connect somehow.

The details is as follow :
MacBookPro01 has remote login activated for all users, is connected to the internet via Wifi, and uses a VPN (AstrillVPN) constantly.
MacBookPro02 is connected to the internet via Wifi on the same network as MacBookPro01 and uses a VPN (AstrillVPN) constantly.
From MacBookPro02, I enter "ssh computer name@XXX.XXX.X.XXX" in Terminal.
All I get is : "ssh: connect to host XXX.XXX.X.XXX port 22: Operation timed out".
MacBook :: Using Comcast Internet - Lags Freezes
Oct 13, 2010got a new macbook recently. got comcast internet. speeds at 20 mbps dl / 4 up.
and every 20 minutes , websites will start to load but freeze. youtube just starts to load and freezes. video never plays. facebook pics wont load when clicked on. happens spiratically.
had a tech come out to check lines. said splitter had errors. changed splitter and nothing changed. spent last 2 hrs online with them troubleshooting. another tech is scheduled to come out.
can this be from the belkin wireless router. I exchanged router to see if it was. so this is the second brand new one. maybe my settings arent the best.
MacBook Pro :: Abnormally Poor Internet - Connection Timed Out
Sep 9, 2010So I recently moved into a new apartment with my 2 roommates, one of which has a macbook, while the other has a desktop that is plugged directly into the router. My macbook roomie has no issues with the WiFi. I, however, have been having numerous issues. It mostly seems to be with posting things, sending emails, logging into websites, and playing videos. 9/10 times I can't post topics onto message boards or update my facebook status. My Gmail almost always works well, while my college email can't send a thing. On twitter I often cannot load the next set of tweets. I was trying to order a textbook online today, I added to cart, and when I went to complete the checkout, the connection timed out. I can do all of these things, however, on the WiFi network on campus at school. Basically what I'm asking is, is this a problem on my end that I can fix? I doubt that the problem lies with our internet providers, because I can have my laptop side by side with my roommates, and he has no issues.

MacBook :: Verify Volume Failed - Invalid Request
Dec 17, 2010I've had this 750 GB external drive for a year or two now, and have used it with no problems. All of a sudden, it can't be read by my MacBook. Finder can't see it. No applications can see it except Disk Utility. But DU can't repair it, and when I try verifying I just get "Verify volume failed: Invalid request." Also, when I'm using DU normally, I can't even eject the drive. But if I boot from my Mac disc, I can. But that's the only difference; still no repairing or verifying, and I get the same error message.

Aug 6, 2009I've had major problems with Safari 4 on my macbook pro. I first downloaded the beta and it just wouldn't work. I'd open the browser and the home page would load up fine, after that is when the problems would come. If I opened any other tabs and loaded a page, any page the browser would freeze. I couldn't close a tab and the tab I was on was completely unresponsive, if I tried to scroll, the bar would move but nothing would happen. Tabs would freeze half loaded and in general it was pretty annoying.
I thought this was just a beta problem, but safari 4 ran fine on my mac pro. I was still on 3 and pretty happy. But 10.5.8 has now upgraded my safari to 4 and it has the exact same problems. I've found an old dmg for 3, and I'm going to reinstall it after I take this MBP to the apple store (I also have a problem with writing DVD's so I figure I can have safari looked at then too). I'm pretty sure it's some sort of software program, as the white macbook I had before this MBP did the exact thing too (I used migration assistant to transition between the two).

May 5, 2012So I'll close my MacBook with safari "X"ed out but not quit. When I open my MacBook up about an hour or so later, I'll click on safari mad it doesn't load... It's not that big of a deal, it's just annoying to have to restart my computer every time I want to go on safari.

Now I get this error. iChat can't communicate with the jabber account "@hotmail". The operation couldn't be completed. Operation timed out. I checked my password, and it is correct. I can check my Hotmail emails using those credentials. I didn't change the server settings as well.

May 14, 2009I've been having intermittent connection problems with Comcast since February. Comcast can't seem to diagnose or solve the problem. Each time they get my connection back up, it goes down again a few days or weeks later.
I switched to Mac last August, with little difficulty. Yesterday, after my connection went down *again*, a "Mac expert" at Comcast told me that this happens with him a lot too. He said that it may be something I just have to live with, implying that it was a problem with Mac users.
Well, I don't have to just live with it, and I've decided to cancel my Comcast subscription if their last fix (a new router/modem) doesn't hold up. But I'm curious, has anyone here ever heard of such a thing? The excuse doesn't make sense to me, since I didn't have connection problems for the first six months I had my Mac. But in February, Comcast switched me to new (better!) servers. I wonder if that's the issue.

Jun 12, 2009We have Comcast internet hooked up to a Linksys router. When only Windows machines are using the connection, everything works fine. When I use my Macbook Pro on the connection, it works for a while, then eventually the connection dies for everyone, and usually restarting the modem makes it work again. I am now trying to use the connection on Windows XP on my Macbook Pro using Boot Camp, and it seems to be working, so it seems like the modem doesn't like something about Mac OS X.
