I can't install Java update, not via 'software update', nor via download from Apple support site. Always get error message at 'writing scripts', even with the camera update. Same thing happens when trying to re-install Adobe flash-player, which I had uninstalled after virus threat. Seems I can't install anything anymore. I have Time Machine backing up my MacMini Snow Leopard Server to an external harddrive. When the backup runs, it never completes, but it also does not throw an error message. It just gets stuck around 300MB or so and eventually starts over. As you can see it does not seem to backup everything. I have tried using TimeTracker to see what it might be getting stuck on but I can't really make heads or tails of it. I have even removed the old backup and started a new one. It backs up once fully (I think) and then after that it just gets stuck like this.
I should mention the drive it backs up is two separate partitions SnowLeopard Server Volume and PrimeRoot Volume, both of which need to be backuped. I was thinking maybe a permissions issue? But I just don't know where to look.

I have two gmail accounts set up with Mail, but as of yesterday, neither will work. I get a connection failed error (port 993 timed out). I've triple checked all my settings and everything is fine. nothing changed, so i don't understand why it won't work. also, mail has been acting strange overall. if i want to quit it, i have had to force quit it with finder because it won't close on its on.

yesterday i turned on my macbook and i wanted to connect to the internet. Everithink seemed fine until i opened safari. I wanted open some websites and it was still loading and doing nothing. Then i have tried open google chrome and the same problem ! But in google chrome showed error message 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED). So i have tried to reset network settings, change DNS adress manualy and its still broken. I also tried to reset modem manualy etc...I can use modem on my iPad without problems and i can connect on my macbook trough ethernet cable.

I am migrating my mail and archive folders from Mail to iCloud. I moved 20+ folders and over 8k messages with no problem by dragging and dropping the folder from 'On my mac' section to 'iCloud' section in Mail. The last two folders were the largest with over 1.5k in each folder. Over 1200 of the messages in each went in to iCloud without a hitch. Then I got this error:
The IMAP command “APPEND” (to [mail box name]) failed with server error: Message contains NUL characters.
There are 149 messages left in one folder and 203 in another folder. Try as I might, it will not work. I tried Rebuild mailbox option in menu and exported to Mail and mbox format and then re-importing. Still does not work.
A few weeks ago my computer had lost the connection to the wireless internet. I set it up again and was able to connect to the internet, however since then I've been receiving an error message "Could not find a PPPoE Server." I went back into Preferences and unchecked the PPPoE server option but the error message still pops up.

Having some mail issues lately with my gmail account Imap set up. I can receive mail but when trying to send mail it pops up with the following: "Can not send message using the server [URL]" I tried deleting the gmail account on my iMac and setting it up again. in the set up It gives me two choices as an outgoing server: [URL] and just Gmail.If I choose Gmail I can send the messages, but is this secure? I've always used [URL] for outgoing without any problems.
