Dec 9, 2008I cant log into my yahoo and hotmail mail account after the recent updates done for my Tiger 10.4.11. I can get into the [URL] page, but after writing my username/pass it wont enter! Anyone facing similar problems?

Sep 23, 2009We have Verizon DSL and use a Netgear wireless router at home. I just bought a new MacBook Pro and can access the internet wireless but cannot access either our Hotmail or Yahoo pages and accounts.
If I turn off Airport and use my Verizon AirCard then I can access everything fine so it seems like there must be an issue with info getting through the Netgear router.

May 16, 2009Since I updated to 10.5.7 Yahoo IM crashes after a minute of being open. Is anyone else having this issue? I uninstalled it and deleted all associated files and reinstalled, but same issues continue.

Jun 9, 2010Ever since I downloaded Safari 5, I have been unable to access my hotmail. I've tried deleting cookies and still nothing.
I've also tried Firefox and my iPhone's Safari and it works fine.
Has anyone else been experiencing these problems?
Lets hope that not another Safari release breaks hotmail (Safari 4 anyone)

Safari :: Facebook And Yahoo Won't Connect
Jun 6, 2012I have read every single post on this problem, I have looked at keychains, plugins, extensions, you name it I ahve tried it. Facebook hasn't worked for three weeks and now Yahoo won't work either. I get the message that the server has dropped the connection. No luck. I also can't get facebook in FireFox or Chrome, so this is a systemic problem. I have run anti-virus, I have done everything imaginable and can't fix the problem. I can get FB, Yahoo, whatever on other computers using the same ISP, modem, and router.

Sep 5, 2009I use a MAC Book Pro with duel intel processors. I have never had a problem reading my hotmail in my safari browser. I also read it in Entourage. After I installed Snow Leapord I have had one small problem and can not figure it out. This problem only happens in Safari when I read some e mails. The letters of the words in the mail are scattered and unreadable. If I copy and paste the text it is readable and looks fine. If I go to Fwd. the message, it is sent in a readable manner. This does not happen in entourage ever. The following is what it looks like on some messages. In the past I got messages from this sender and others with no problems.

Jun 6, 2012First Facebook stopped loading on my computer. Now Yahoo will not load. All other sites seem to load with no issues. I have tried all of the recommended items that I could find including but not limited to Empty Cache, Reset Safari, Cleaning cookies, Adding or changing DNS, clearing history.plist and everything else I could find in the communities. It seems that the pages I visit the most are the ones with issues. I should note that I have had some instances of Safari closing unexpectedly and times where I have had to use force quit.

Safari :: Yahoo Made A Change That Only Impacts?
Jun 9, 2012Yahoo seems to have made a change that only impacts Safari. Yahoo starts to load and then stops. Resetting Safari, removing cookies and clearing the cache enables sign in but no links from the start page load. Some give a message "loading" and then "Content unavailable try again later." Firefox works OK with Yahoo and Safari works on other sites.

Dec 8, 2009I discovered a bit of an oddity yesterday.
I did a search on Google for a message board for an NFL team (Baltimore Ravens). The top link on Google was the message board on the official team site. When I clicked on the link, it redirected me to some random shady site. When I tried again, I got through fine. But I then reset Safari (deleting the cookies), tried it again, and the same thing happened. Yahoo provided the same issue.
I do not download anything except for Software Updates (I know about the trojans posing as codecs and pirated software, and have not downloaded anything of the such).
Out of curiosity, I tried Googling the website on a PC with Firefox, and had no problem. I downloaded Safari to that same PC, and the same thing occurred, so this clearly is a browser specific problem. Also of note is that on the PC, the AV detected a trojan about 5 minutes later.
I tried disabling Java, and the Google link wouldn't open the webpage the first time, but I did not get redirected. Typing the address in directly provided no problems.
I am at a loss. Is my system secure? I keep up with all updates (I am currently on 10.5.8, though). Has my system been compromised at all?

May 19, 2010This is a pretty weird problem I've been having on and off for the past few months... Every now and then, when I type a URL into Safari, it loads a completely different site... For example, [URL].will load [URL].. This usually lasts for around 30 minutes or so, and then it goes back to normal. The URLs affected vary... right now, when I try to load [URL]., Safari loads an error page from Yahoo! (but the URL in the address bar is still [URL].). If I try to go directly to Gmail by typing in mail.google.com, Safari says "cannot connect to server". I attached a screenshot of what happens when I go to [URL].

Jun 13, 2012Suddenly about 5days ago, Safari suddenly stopped loading my homepage, uk.yahoo.com - which has been my Homepage for years. I thought it was perhaps a Yahoo problem, but apparently not, as Safari loads any other page from my favorites etc without any hitch, meaning its clearly not an ISP problem either. I did find a thread that suggested un-ticking the 'Restore Windows' box in the General section in System Preferences, (not Safari Preferences), but I cant see a General tab in System Preferences? Additionally, I have deleted Safari, and reinstalled it, but problem still exists. I'm running OS X 10.5.8 and Safari version 5.0.6.

Jun 19, 2009I'm afraid I'm new to Mac's and I've not had any luck finding what I'm after using the search function. My wife's macbook has recently completed a download and install of the latest Safari (4) and now every time we connect to the net it stays connected for about 10 seconds and then crashes. I receive a message window saying safari quit unexpectedly and offers me options to close, report or reopen safari. I'm useless at diagnosing problems.
