Safari :: URL Bar Disappeared?
May 8, 2012Well, it's just what the title says. I have my bookmarks and everything, but the URL bar is gone and I'm not sure how to fix it.

Safari :: It Disappeared From My Screen
Feb 24, 2012When I click on the Safari icon in the dock the Safari tool bar opens at the top of my screen but the Top Sites screen does not display. Likewise, if I click on a link in History or Bookmarks, the wepage does not display on the screen. I think the sites are opening because I opened a link with audio and the audio plays OK, but no web page displays.

Everything else is there, can link from my bookmarks and from Google, but can't type in new addresses, there's no place for them. I tried downloading a new version of Safari, but it does the same thing. My backup browser, Firefox is unaffected.

Jun 15, 2007Yesterday afternoon I opened up safari and found it looked somewhat naked. My bookmark bar was missing. I went into preferances, and it was still checked. I unchecked it, and checked it again. Quit safari.
Restarted. Nothing seems to get it back. An ideas as to what happened, or how I can fix it?

Jul 30, 2010Safari now only display my bookmark bar and nothing else. I thought it could be recent extensions installed but I've turned extensions of and its still only showing the bookmark bar.

Mar 26, 2012I have been using the 'Reading List' as a default Bookmark list as I find it more accessible than the old Bookmark system in Safari. After recently updating Safari my reading list has developed a bug. Firstly my entire list had disappeared (most annoying and inconvenient as I began rely on the list for my continuing study of important references in relation to my business) but I strangely I do get a multiple entry of my last used item. In fact the last time I opened up the list I had about ten duplications of the same bookmark. A recent example is below. My other references (which incidentally, courtesy of iCloud appear on my iPhone bookmarks) have disappeared.

Safari :: Get Back Bookmarks That Disappeared After Parental Controls Were Added?
May 31, 2012I made a misstake. I was testing out parental controls and it prompted me to create an administrator account and put my account under parental controls. When I did that and applied restrictions to my account i set it so that only accepted sites (ones allowed by the administerator and in the bookmarks bar) could be visit.Â
After a few days I went back and deled the administrator and got rid of parental controls but now all my bookmarks and folders are gone.Â
Is there a way I can get all my bookmarks back? (I don't have a time machine hooked up, but I am running OSX 10.7 Lion)

Jun 8, 2009i also can't click on anything on the desktop, the only thing that is there and works are the words on the top, stopping at help. Also after every word i write, a pop up says 'alert cannot contact spell checker,' When i open safari i also cannot get it back to finder, and i can't search anything on the computer because after the second letter the screen flashes.
It started this morning i tried to write something in stickies and the computer went crazy to a blue screen and the loading circle started spinning around so i shut it down, when i loaded it up i had all these problems.
I have iBook g4 from 2005. What should i do, i don't know anything about computers. I tried searching online i tried to use killall Dock in terminal it didn't work, it said no matching processes were found.

So I went and checked, and one of my harddrives is completely missing from the finder.

Nov 11, 2010bug with the 10.6.5 update and sent messages in my Mail program. I use Gmail via IMAP, and since the update, all my sent messages seem to have disappeared. Has anyone else encountered this and/or does anyone know how to force Mail to re-download the headers? Simply right-clicking the Sent Messages mailbox and hitting "Synchronize" doesn't seem to work.

Dec 8, 2008I came back from a holiday and when I turned on my computer, my main HDD icon (same hdd that the system boots from) is no longer on my desktop nor in finder. I have to manually dig for it to be able to go through the files etc. Anyone knows why is that?
Also, the icon looks grayed a bit compared to others.

Apr 18, 2009Ok. So I'm trying to recover my files from an old powerbook harddrive. I have it hooked up to my macbook pro via a usb harddrive enclosure. Everything looks like it shows up, but I can't find my personal files. The drive was totally full, and when I click on info it reads that there is 55 gb used. But when I look at it in finder and use command-j and select "calculate all sizes" there is only 5 gb accounted for.
