View 1 RepliesTried to delete an email off my iPhone. In doing so, not only did I delete that email, but I also deleted my inbox as well.
Looked for my deleted emails in the trash but they weren't there.
They are also not in any other folder I have. Odd thing is that the original email I wanted to delete does show up in my trash but all the other older emails do not.
I've sent myself a few emails and deleted to see if they ended up in the trash as well and they do. But my other emails are gone.
This is on my Yahoo account and done on my iPhone.
45 minutes ago I went to check my mail on my computer and my inbox is empty! There was mail in it an hour ago, and then it just disappeared. I didn't change or move anything, the inbox was just empty. I then checked my sent box and all my sent emails were there, checked back 5 minutes later and their gone! The emails in my deleted and junk folders are still there. I checked online through icloud.com and Inbox and sent mail are empty there too, as well as my phone.
I say again, I didn't delete, move or change anything in my mail, it was there and then it was gone. Where did my mail go? I am running a intel Mac Pro tower with Lion 10.7.2 and a iphone 4 with IOS 5.1
i also can't click on anything on the desktop, the only thing that is there and works are the words on the top, stopping at help. Also after every word i write, a pop up says 'alert cannot contact spell checker,' When i open safari i also cannot get it back to finder, and i can't search anything on the computer because after the second letter the screen flashes.
It started this morning i tried to write something in stickies and the computer went crazy to a blue screen and the loading circle started spinning around so i shut it down, when i loaded it up i had all these problems.
I have iBook g4 from 2005. What should i do, i don't know anything about computers. I tried searching online i tried to use killall Dock in terminal it didn't work, it said no matching processes were found.
I have the weirdest problems. Every once and a while when I receive a new email, the text of the email is from a year prior. It is the weirdest thing. Anyone know what the deal is and how to fix this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am new to Mac-have recently migrated from PC to a dear little MacBook. This may be a server problem, but thought I would ask. Suddenly my inbox filled up with 1500 old emails (3-4 months' worth all marked "unread"). Have I inadvertently done something?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI started my Mac mail application today (set to connect to my gmail accounts through IMAP), and all my mail that was in my inbox is GONE. I don't know if my gmail accounts were hacked or if their implementation of "Priority Inbox" just trashed all my messages older than 35 days. I've changed my password and disabled Priority Inbox. Does anyone have any ideas about how I can recover my e-mails?

Apple mail out of office rule is sending auto replies to all emails not just newly received emails--HELP! I set up the rule according to another apple support thread and instead of only sending the reply to new mail received, it was sent to all messages I believe that were in my INBOX, I only had a few but several people that hadn't sent me emails since I set up the rule, received the OUT OF OFFICE reply. Here is the procedure I followed for the out of office rule-[URL]I just used my email account which is a business account- not an ECU account but these rules according to the apple thread apply for all emails.

How do I sync my emails on my phone with the emails on my Macbook Pro, so that when I delete items off my inbox on my phone it will automatically recognize it on my Mac? Rather annoying having to see the emails on my Mac again after deleting them all.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have one problem again regarding my "MAIL"
I can send emails, without any problems...but I can't RECEIVE any emails, at all. All of a sudden.
On the left bottom corner, I can see, receiving 1 of 4, and after 1 min, the bar is gone, and I cannot get any emails at all.
When I login to the webmail (abc.com/webmail for instance), I can find there're 4 emails sitting there "unread"
May I know what's the problem? and how to fix it? because I want to be able to receive the mails from MAIL instead of logging in to webmail all the time.
I have an issue with my Apple Mail. I've configured my server's email on it. Now it works all fine when I setup a new account; I can easily send and receive emails.
However, after I quit the application, and reopen it, I can ONLY send emails! I don't receive any emails!
I delete a large batch of emails from my inbox, empty the trash, and the deleted emails reappear in the inbox. This happens repeatedly. How do I get rid of these emails permanently?

Well, it's just what the title says. I have my bookmarks and everything, but the URL bar is gone and I'm not sure how to fix it.

I was working on a file in photoshop, when it told me:
"Could not complete, scratch disk is missing"
So I went and checked, and one of my harddrives is completely missing from the finder.
I went to Disk utility, thinking it accidentally got unmounted or something, but the harddrive is missing from there too!
bug with the 10.6.5 update and sent messages in my Mail program. I use Gmail via IMAP, and since the update, all my sent messages seem to have disappeared. Has anyone else encountered this and/or does anyone know how to force Mail to re-download the headers? Simply right-clicking the Sent Messages mailbox and hitting "Synchronize" doesn't seem to work.

View 20 Replies View RelatedI came back from a holiday and when I turned on my computer, my main HDD icon (same hdd that the system boots from) is no longer on my desktop nor in finder. I have to manually dig for it to be able to go through the files etc. Anyone knows why is that?
Also, the icon looks grayed a bit compared to others.
see picture for more details
Edit: the hdd in question is named Cindy just to clarify that
Ok. So I'm trying to recover my files from an old powerbook harddrive. I have it hooked up to my macbook pro via a usb harddrive enclosure. Everything looks like it shows up, but I can't find my personal files. The drive was totally full, and when I click on info it reads that there is 55 gb used. But when I look at it in finder and use command-j and select "calculate all sizes" there is only 5 gb accounted for.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI newly installed leopard on my Mac Pro. The problem is that there are no icons on the menu bar. (top right). No airport, no volume icon and no language selector icon. I tried Preference -> Sound -> Show Volume in Menu Bar, but it didn't work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust short of using TM - I've looked in the trash and it's not there. There are files there but not the folders/files I had on my desktop.
where do you think these files went ?
I am currently using the Mac OS X 10.4.11. I've been using the computer without any problems for the past 2-3 years. Just yesterday, when I turned my computer on, many of my files which were once on my desktop has disappeared. The odd thing is, when I look at the amount of HD space available, the correct amount of space is still available. If I use the finder, I am unable to find any of the files which have 'disappeared'. All my bookmarks have also disappeared. In addition, I had previously set specific preferences for my trackpad (for example, i could use two fingers to double click) but those preferences seemed to have been reverted back to the original settings and I had to manually change the settings myself. Is there anyway I can recover the files which had disappeared? I also checked to make sure that I wasn't logged in as another user.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy stacks have disappeared from my dock. I used to automatically get my downloads on the dock and they fanned out when I clicked on it. That is gone now... not sure if I did something to get rid of it, but I want it back.
View 8 Replies View RelatedLet me preface that I'm new to the whole mac thing.
So I was trying to customize my dock and I downloaded CandyBar. After choosing a new Finder icon it asked me to log out to apply changes, when I logged back in my finder icon was gone. I went to CandyBar and clicked restore but it told me I never made any backup. I scrolled to where the original window to change the icon was (next to trash can etc) and the window to change it had also disappeared. Any advice on how to restore my Finder icon manually?
My Grand Son and a friend of his recently visited and somehow they changed the appearance of my display. At the top of the screen I used to have a bar that showed what website I was on and if I wanted to change web sites I just had to type in the new website I wanted. Now there is a grey stripe that only shows my favs and the forward and reverse arrows. Not very tech savvy so the terms may not be the correct ones, how to return to the previous settings.
