ICloud :: Its Site Image Disappeared From Safari Topsites Opening Page
May 19, 2012
After difficult migration from old Mac Book to Mac Book Pro 13 iCloud image site doesn't appear anymore on my Safari opening page (topsites)
It is not so important because the link already function when I click in the black page. But disturbing. All over pages in topsites have their image right there.
Safari used to let me drag an image from a webpage to the finder and have the dragged file be saved as an actual image but now all that's saved is a webloc file. I want the image saved, not a reference to the image's URL - do I now have to always use "save as" to save it?Â
I can understand Safari creating a webloc file if I dragged the site icon from the location bar to the finder, but to make the default behavior for dragging things that are parts of a page (not the page itself) as webloc files seems like a HUGE step backwards for usability.Â
Does anyone know if there's, say, a key to hold when dragging to avoid saving a webloc file or a defaults command or something to make Safari revert back to sane draging behavior?
I completely forgot to reset anything that was in the mobilme area of iweb before it closed which referred to my site address resetting the CNAME someone's mentioned?I've gone into 123 reg and disabled the web forwarding address I had to cloak the me.com address, uploaded my new files via FTP but I can't get away from the 'mobile me closed' page.I've emptied cache etc any ideas of how to disassociate from mobileme finally?
Safari home page is defaulted to "only-search.com" and it won't let me change it. MacBook Pro, 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5, 4GB, running OS10.7.5 and Safari version 6.1.6 (7537.78.2). I checked software update for OS and Safari (auto, though checked myself) and everything is up to date. I change the "Homepage" and when I restart Safari the "only-search.com" web page keeps coming up. On occasions a message also appears that "my web browser is about to crash and yes or no to clean it" which I have ignored. How to get a clean Safari version?Â

I add my own sites to topsites by creating a new Safari window and dragging the icon in the left of the address bar to the topsites window. That works, but every time I quit Safari and open it up again, the topsites change.
When I open Safari 5.1.5 it opens the last page I was in previously, not my designated homepage, which I would prefer. I looked in Preferences to change it, but to no avail. Upgraded to Lion yesterday.
I've recently noticed that the quality of images in Safari have dropped in resolution. I have downloaded Firefox and tried this application and this has the same problem. I looks like a Mac OS-X setting issue. I was testing what the cmd-F10, CTRL-F9 etc and other combinations do when the quality shifted. I have a MacBook Pro running Leopard (4 GB, 2.5 Ghz). Images in all other applications look fine.
New ADSL Modem/Router from ISP.A Zyxel P-660HN-T1A_1Pv6 Only wanted the modem function as I use Time Capsule and an Airport Express to extend the signal. On bringing up the modem web page and login box for device configuration, my password is not accepted using Safari ( My default browser)I have managed a successful login with Firefox(on adjusting permissions) and immediately with Opera and Google Chrome.I use "wireless"off and the Open DNS servers, but the login failed initially while showing my ISP's DNS addresses To add to the confusion, a friend who was visiting today with his laptop was able to access my device configuration with his Safari (which he doesn't use usually)Â I am left with the conclusion that there is something in my Safari setup which is blocking the browser from accepting the password. For the life of me I can't identify it and other than checking others' setups I don't know where to go from here.

I have no problem loading the iCloud home page with Safari or Chrome. When I access it with Firefox 13 all I get is the background and the spinning loading graphic?
I'm a little confused of some of the options with Westmere. I was reading the features page on the Mac Pro site and Apple states:Westmere is available in both quad-core and 6-core versions, and the Mac Pro comes with either one or two processorsI thought Westmere started at 6 cores in a single processor configuration? I then went to the tech specs page and under "Processor upgrade options", it only shows the quad cores as "Nehalem".So is there such thing as a Westmere quad? Or is this just a goof up from Apple? If there is a quad version, might anyone more knowledgeable in processors know what might be a predictable BTO price would be from Apple? And if this might use the newer 1333Mhz RAM?
I used to use Image Capture application to scan photos with my cannon scanner. Today I wanted to scan some pics, but the Image Capture application is just suddenly gone! Tried searching, everything, the app just completely disappeared from my mac, I have no idea why. Is there a way to get it back
I seem to be having a hell of a time with all google related things. About 50% of the time I can't get to the google search page and get the error message Safari can't open the page [URL] because Safari can't connect to the server. When I am able to get into gmail, I am constantly being disconnected from gchat, like every 5 minutes. When it disconnects, it will try to reconnect, most of the time unsuccessfully. I then get the error message, unable to reach gmail please check your internet connection. This happens no matter what browser I use. However, when I try to connect from my husband's PC (same network), everything is fine. I've tried emptying my safari cache, tried uninstalling and re-installing both safari and firefox, and I am out of ideas. Any ideas about what is going on, and how I might fix this issue. I searched through the google help, and there were similar problems posted (none recently), but no answers on how to solve the issue. This has been going on for about a week now, and it's driving me up a wall.
I currently run Safari 5.1.6 on an iMac with OS X 10.7.4 and no matter which page I designate as my Home Page, Safari ignores this and on start-up always opens the last page I was on.
I signed out of Safari then signed in again. Now the bookmarks for the AT&T - Yahoo page do not display on the page. Other bookmarks are intact. Do I have to reload them?
i have been using iDisk as back-up storage and as an FTP site (using FileChute) for client files. From what i can tell, this will no longer be possible with iCloud. Worked simply and quickly. Hope there is an iCloud alternative.
There Is A Page I Open Often. And Its Opening To The Right Hand Side Of The Window. Please Someone Tell Me How To Resize It Back Into The Middle Again.
Please forgive me if this has been covered, but I couldn't find anything on it here. How do I save image files from a web page to my imac. I can't right click my mouse, and I'm totally lost on this one. All my previous comps were pc's that ran a windows system.
I have got for the communitiy regarding iCloud storage please. Are we, of if not, will we ever be at the stage where we can use iCloud as off-site storage for not just e-mail but documents saved in Word, Excel and Powerpoint for Apple and Photos stored in iPhoto.I ask as my Time Capsule recently packed up and was wondering with the advance of Cloud computing could iCloud replace my old storage / back-up.

I do a lot of editing of text docs and every time I open TextEdit it opens a new doc when I want to just open the doc I'm after. Then I have to close both of them. This gets annoying when editing several docs. Is there any way to turn off the new doc? I don't see that option in the menu or preferences.

When on a company's webpage, I click on the link to a form. The page comes up blank. When I do this on another computer (HP desktop) the form shows up fine. Is there a setting problem with my MacBook that I can fix?
Whn I am using Safari which is the default browser on my IMAC, opening a web-based pdf results in a black page? This does not happen when using firefox. Also does not happen when opening an emailed pdf.
