I'm using Pages in iWork 09. I want a save button on top in the toolbar. I tried to customize it, but it doesn't look like I have that option. Is there seriously no way to create a save button?

I was able to increase the size of the boxes with the zoom feature, but that didn't help with the icons across the top. I've been using Excel for a while so I'm trying to learn how to do some of the stuff with Numbers, but it is killing me squinting to make out the different options. Is there any way to change this?

I broke the disk into two logical volumes. In one volume, had an operating system. In the second volume of stored programs. Then I needed to increase the size of the system drive.What I did:1. Booted from installation disk.2. Remove the second partition.3. Increased the size of the first (system) disk.4. Check the disk and partition for errors.

I'm working on a certain type of project that can have any combination of associated Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents. When I'm done with a project, I want to create a single PDF containing all associated content. In principle, it's easy: create a PDF of each document, and then combine the PDFs using Acrobat. Unfortunately, most of the Excel spreadsheets are wider than any of the paper sizes in Excel's Page Setup options. For instance, if I select Legal for the paper size and then print landscape to PDF, it prints however many columns would fit on an 11" piece of paper, then prints the next 11" range of columns, and so on. The resulting document makes no sense, because all the columns aren't contiguous. I'm never going to print the PDF, just view it on screen, and I want the PDF to look just like the Excel spreadsheet does. Is there any sort of "Print Actual Width" option in Acrobat that overrides Excel's page-size options? I've Googled this topic and checked Microsoft's support site.
I'd like to set up Safari so that when I click the green "Maximize" button on the top left, the Safari window goes to a certain size and when I click it again, it goes to another size. Is there any way to do this? I've never really seen a use for Safari's green button as it doesn't really do anything that I can see.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there a size limit for importing an Excel File into Numbers? The error message says the file is too large. Has this been changed in i-work 09? The file has multiple sheets that refer to each other, but i can't even open at this point. It is 3.1 MB.

View 7 Replies View RelatedTwo strange issues that I can't fix on my new MB Air 13 with MS Office for MAC 2011 and Excel.
1) I can't get the Standard Toolbar to show up when I open a new worksheet. I go to view, toolbars and then see that the Standard Toolbar is checked, but it doesn't show up. The only way to get it to show up is to do a series of steps:
- uncheck Standard Toolbar menu and go back out;
- go back in and check the Standard Toolbar and back to the spreadsheet
- the Standard Toolbar still doesn't show up;
- so then I click on the Layout tab on the ribbon and then it shows up!
2) I can't see the bottom of the window/spreadsheet - which means I can't resize the window. To resolve this, I have to do these steps:
- open system preferences and change my MBA screen resolution from 1440 x 900 down to 1280 x 800
- then go back to the spreadsheet, and resize the window (make it smaller on the screen)
- go back and resize the window back to 1440 x 900
- and then close the system preferences at this point, the Excel spreadsheet window is smaller and I can see/use the bottom of the screen to resize, etc.
Can't figure out what setting I have wrong or why I can't get Excel for Mac 2011 to work correctly on the MB Air screen.
I cannot drag the back/forward button to toolbar?

New to Macs and struggling a bit with the high res/ average eye sight combo.
I've managed to get most of my apps text sizes ok for me to see (though FF skews things up a bit), but I find my toolbar icons and text size to be a bit small for me.
Two main apps cause me grief. Mail and Office. I can't seem ti find anywhere where I can increase the size of the toolbar icons. In mail i can use Large icons, but that doesn't affect the toolbar. In Office (mainly Word/Excel) I can't seem to find anything at all.
I'm trying to increase the font size of my mac, but I can't find it anywhere. I should be really simple to do so I'm probably missing something. On windows you just right click the desktop > appearance and bang. How can I do it on the mac? Oh and I don't want to increase the font of safari or finder, i already know how to do that, what I'm looking for is a way to make all fonts bigger (including menus)... just like you do on windows, make all fonts 1.2 times bigger.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm prepping to install Vista over XP (my friend says I'm downgrading, which I probably am). As I noted in an earlier post, I need to give more space to my Windows partition. Does this sequence look OK to you guys?
1. Boot from Mac OS X Install DVD. Check "Macintosh HD" and "NO NAME" for errors; fix if needed.
2. Defragment "Macintosh HD" and "NO NAME".
3. Use GParted or iPartition (on LiveCDs) to see how much space is left between the two partitions.
4. Boot in to Mac OS X on "Macintosh HD". Use diskutil to shrink "Macintosh HD".
5. Boot from GParted LiveCD. Use GParted to move and expand "NO NAME", remembering the buffer between partitions as determined in step 3.
6. Boot from Mac OS X Install DVD. Check "Macintosh HD" and "NO NAME" for errors; fix if needed.
7. Install Vista and pray I don't run out of space...
The icons on my desktop have gone really small, and I forgot how to make them larger.
Like the title says, anyone know how to increase the size of the icon of the hard drive. I have a huge 24 inch monitor and would like my hard drive icon to be nice and big.

I just noticed this right now. Basically I'm in the process of converting my entire collection to iTunes file structure/format and am reembedding artwork. I've been using google and I can find a file that's approximately 125 kb's (600 x 600) and DRAG the file from the safari window into either the album art box in the left hand corner and/or the get info box and the size of the files will increase significantly. Â
For instance, I grabbed a 135 kb album artwork for Adele 21 and it jacked up the size of the album by 10 mb's. Alternatively, if I save that file directly to my computer and drag it, as a file, into that same box, the size of the album only increases proportionate to the size of the file so 135 kb's x 16 songs (approximately 2 mb's). Is there a reason fro the difference? Does this have to do with iTunes converting the file to png if dragged from the safari window.  I was purposely avoiding higher quality artwork cause the file sizes were increasing so significantly. I was more worried downstream when I dragged these albums to my iPhone. I just want to make sure I'm not missing something. If this is the route that I have to go then that's fine with me. I'll proceed with saving each individual file and going about it that way.
