View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having issues when trying to click on a link on a webpage or pop up. Firefox and Safari are not registering when I click on a link or button. I've only been using a Mac for only about 5 days now so I don't know all the settings and what they do.
Also this was working two days ago. If there something I disabled or enabled, how can I fix it or re-trace my steps. I need this to download PSD's for my artwork.
since turning on my macbook this evening overtime i click on something a new tab opens up most of them are spam, why and how is this happening? most importantly how do i stop it

On Yosemite, when I click on a link (say on the New York Times), a new window (for an online seller - normally Jabong, Online casino etc) always appears. The link does work but it is annoying to be dealing with a new window with each click

I installed Mavericks yesterday and find that when I receive an email with a link or go on another site with a link, it opens in the window I have on the screen instead of a separate window. Sometimes I need to transfer pictures or copy to a different page and cannot do that now.

I have only been "MAC" for five years now...from a PC of course. I LOVE IWEB, but noted this morning on one of my sites I have up ONLY on one page one of the navigation links is not working. I went back into Mac and took the page and marked it NOT to be linked saved and went back and reinstated it in the link navigation bar, resaved it, republished it, ftp'd it up and cleared recent history... and still no luck.
artistsoftexas.org on the ARTIST page, I cannot get the link to actively work to Galleries/workshops. Works on all other pages.
Up until a few months ago my MacBook had no problem opening PDF's. Now, for some reason it stopped.I have un-installed and re-installed Adobe Reader a number of times and no luck.

I recently bought a Macbook Pro and it starts worrying me that it makes a 'click' sound.
It's done it all the time but now I start worrying whether or not it's normal. It doesn't do it all the time. It comes now and then. It's not loud.
I've tried to record it and you can hear it by clicking here.
I have a MacBook Air and when go to double click a folder on my desktop nothing hsappens.I can select it but double clicking does not open it. This also happens in some of my applications as well.

You know the start up page that appears when you press the power button, the blue ish white one with the apple logo on the middle and a circular loading thing? Well mine won't stop loading. I left it on all night and it still hasn't finished loading. Its the circular one that just goes around and around.

When I perform a Google search and click on any of the links that show up, Safari will always open that very link in the same window. How to make Safari open each link I click in a new tab?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen going to a linked page in Safari I usually want to open it in a new tab or a new window and occasionally to do other things with it. So I'm used to right-clicking on links to bring up a contextual menu offering me:
Open Link in New Window
Open Link in New Tab
Download Linked File
Download Linked File As...
Add Link to Bookmarks...
Copy Link: I noticed the loss of this menu when my wife wanted me to look at web pages she had found related to a possible holiday. Using Safari in her account on our iMac, I found no menu appeared when I right-clicked on a link. I checked she had the "secondary button" set up OK in the mouse preferences and I also found right-clicking worked OK elsewhere. I then tried other ways of making the menu appear on a link (CTRL-clicking or holding down the left, primary button); neither worked!................
I have Mac OS 10.4.11, and Safari 3.2.1. Safari crashes if I try to Cmd-click a link to get it to open in a new tab or right-click a bookmark and choose to open it in a new tab or a new window. It did not do that before I got the Safari update. I also cannot seem to get any content into more than 3 tabs without it crashing. Is there any way to fix it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI prefer Firefox. But when I click on a link in an email, it opens in Safari. I searched for 'browser' and 'default' in my computer's help (no hits), and I searched the forum for 'apple mail' and 'firefox' with no good hits. Maybe related, but I see no way to make Firefox my default browser. I do have it set to open on startup, and safari does not open. But if I click on a link in an email, it will still open safari instead of using Firefox.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhoever reads this, do me a favor, please. Find a web page with a link that produces a tooltip when you hover over it. Click that link. Wait for the resulting page to load, then hit the "back" button. Move your pointer off of the link you originally clicked, and just wait a moment. Does a tooltip for that link you clicked appear, just as though you were still hovering over it? It does for me. It has in every single version of Safari I've ever used, from version whateverthehellhaveyou in Jaguar, to Safari 3 in Tiger, Safari 4 in Leopard and Snow Leopard, to Safari 5 in Snow Leopard on not one, not two, but 4 different Macintoshes: a G3 iBook, a white non-unibody Macbook, another white non-unibody Macbook, and an aluminum unibody MacBook.
Just wondering if this happens to everyone, or if this is something special between Safari and me.
no matter what browser i use, safari, firefox, i can't download anything! whenever i click download it just takes me to a new site with nothing on it and the name of the download in the url
like for example
URL
is where i will say download that widget then it takes me here
URL
and no download starts or anything. its like my computer is going dumb. like it doesn't download it, just like opens the link with a blank page. why is it not downloading it. this happens for ANYTHING from ANY site on ANY web browser.
I'm running Safari 5.1.4, and Mail 5.2 on a system running OS 10.7.3. I am trying to send a link to a page from safari using CMD+SHIFT+I. When I attempt to do that, I receive a message that Safari cannot find an email application. I checked Mail's preferences, and it is listed as the default mail application. How to get Safari to find Mail?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI received my 15" MacBook Pro 3 days ago and tonight I happened to notice a slight click noise when i open or close the lid. It sounds like it is coming from the hinge area.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I click on a link on any web page, a "bubble" travels across the screen and "enters" the history icon. I then have to open History to find the link and then click on it. It then moves to a tab under the bookmarks bar and I have to click on that in order to open the link. This problem started suddenly today, several weeks after I upgraded to OS X Lion. Everything was fine before. My Safari is version 5.1.3.

When I try to click on a link in my email on my Mac it cannot find the Firefox application and just gives me an error message. I know there is somewhere to specify what browser to open but I can't find it.Â

The error is confusing; it goes something like: "Cannot link across master page items" and brings me from my page, to the master page and keeps coming up with this same warning each time I try to Undo, or when I try to go back to my body page, it wont let me because of some crossed link?
This is very confusing to describe, but hopefully someone else has had this exact problem and luckily they have been able to fix this problem because when I Force Quit or either revert to last saved (this has happened to me twice now) it crashes Quark and the file is unreadable. I'm thinking of because this linking problem, it makes Quark crash.
Whenever I am on facebook or on the internet and I click to donload a file it downloads to my downloads folder but then the second it finished preview pops up with the picture open. How do i stop preview from doing this?

I am getting a little frustrated. Everytime I start my computer Word, Excel and other programs open. I have tried the following which hasn't helped.Â
1. I went into system preferences into User/Groups, logins and deleted all items. Â
2. Hovered over the word in the menu bar at the bottom of the screen, clicked options, unchecked open at login. (I have been closing down the application before loging off) Â Â
Other than that I am not sure how to stop these from opening.
