May 14, 2012I bought my Quicktime 4 years ago, so no app store. Haven't used it for quite sime time, but got a text file saved with the key, but can't find email with purchase confirmation. I tried all posible name combinations (my Apple ID, name and surname and vice versa, my login). Nothing fits, I get invalid registration. Is there any kind of support that can help me? Cause I want it badly now...

May 7, 2009everytime I launch fcp it asks for the serial number. Not so much a problem but it's semi-annoying. If there's a way to cut that out I'd be greatful to find out.
Second, I can't find the quicktime files i've exported. It goes they the menus and shows a progress bar and even stops normally like it would when the file is finished. I've check everywhere I can think to check. When I try to export under the same file name a pop up says "file already exisits". So I try a differnt name and we repeat the process.

Apr 8, 2012I am just updated to Mac OS X 10.5.8 so that I could use itunes. But now I get a message that says that to Open the latest version of itunes (that I just downloaded), I need I need Quicktime 7.5.5 or later. I've tried "updating existing software" in the Quicktime menu, but no updates are found. I've also been to the quicktime download page on apple.com and tried that, but no dice.

May 30, 2009I'm trying to install the Xvid codec for Quicktime. And in the ReadMe file it tells me this his how I install the codec:
To install this component, just drag the File "XviD_Codec 1.0 alpha.component" into Library/QuickTime. The Library directory can be found either at your home directory (to install just for the actual user) or at the top-level of your startup volume (this needs an administrator account). Do not put in: /System/Library/QuickTime.
It is possible that the QuickTime directory does not yet exists. In that case you can create it yourself. Pay attention to capital letters if you use a case sensitive file system (i.e. UFS). But I haven't got a clue where the Home Directories are.

Jun 1, 2014I've been using Compressor 4 for some time and have been converting .MOV files into >WMV files. When I selected an output source the Quicktime Export Components always showed up at the bottom of the list. I would select it and then be able to START BATCH. Now, it's no longer there. Instead, the word CUSTOM is there, instead, which I can't click on at all.
I've always had and used Flip4Mac and even upgraded but still the option to select Quicktime Export Components is missing entirely. I've rebooted the program and just can't get it back.Â
