I bought my Quicktime 4 years ago, so no app store. Haven't used it for quite sime time, but got a text file saved with the key, but can't find email with purchase confirmation. I tried all posible name combinations (my Apple ID, name and surname and vice versa, my login). Nothing fits, I get invalid registration. Is there any kind of support that can help me? I just started getting deadlocks in code that's been running for some time on my mac pro 2nd edition (8 cores, 2 gb ram). This code was using java 6 from Apple previously - with the upgrade to 1.6.0_13, it's now hanging in the middle of its run. This code has been running for quite some time. Before OSX supported java 6 it also ran on java 5 no problem. it just started hanging after this update. Can the java update be uninstalled?

I have MacBook Pro with Lion 10.7.3. My .mov files from several years ago will not open and will not play using Quicktime or any other player. They worked 1 year ago, but just tried them today and they all say "The movie could not be opened. This file is not a movie file." I have not touched them for a year so they haven't changed.

I have bought the registration key and entered it into Quicktime 7. It seems to have accepted it because the icon changed to Pro and it has Quicktime 7 Pro at the bottom instead of 'Buy Quicktime Pro...' Â
But... when I go to 'Save As' it is greyed out and leads me to a link to 'Buy Now' but on the US store. I bought my update from the UK store as this is the country I live in and from where my Mac was purchased. Maybe this has something to do with it? I followed a UK store web link to download version 7 before updating.Â

Problem: after a crash (occurered while whatching a wmv sequence in Safari with Flip4Mac), I uninstalled Flip4Mac. Since then, no way to watch an mpg sequence through Quicktime in Safari - either I get the Quicktime logo with a question mark or Safari crashes.
I tried: reinstalling combo 10.4.8, Safari 2.0.4, Quicktime 7.1.5, creating a new user - no change.
I therefor think that there must be some "bad" files somewhere in the system, I checked the safari and finder crash logs.

I switched from PC to iMac last week . I am very excited by the performance of Mac OSX and display of the new 21.5" iMac. The only problem I face is that quicktime movies are not played in safari/firefox. Safari waits indefinitely for loading the quicktime movie , firefox shows a big 'Q ?'. Don't know what that means.
This frustrating because I can't view any of the tutorial movies in the apple website. It is ironic that apple's own format is not playing on the new iMac.
The OS is Mac OSX 10.6.2 . Flash is playing well in the same machine. I am new to mac .

I bought macbook pro 13 inch 2.4 base model, i found that media keys (f7 f8 f9) only work with front row and not working with iTune or QuickTime, how to make them work?
also they work as a function keys when i press fn+Key , so i think it is not hardware problem.
It appears that the function keys to control iTunes/Quicktime (FF, Play/Pause, and RW) are not working. At one point they did but now it doesn't. All the other function keys are functioning just fine and dandy. I have the "Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" unchecked in the preferences. I looked around and there doesn't seem to be any setting that would explain the sudden malfunctioning of the keys. Is there something I may have missed?

I purchased a 13" MBP a couple of days ago and got the Applecare protection plan with it. I was in the process of registering it, but I realized that there was no AppleCare Registration Number that came with the box. I read some where that if I bought my MBP with the applecare that it would be automatically registered, but when I tried to check my registration status it said that I didn't have anything registered. My question is, are there any other ways to check if my MBP got registered?

Since I upgraded to 9.1 this week, every time I try to sync my iPod iTunes pops up an error message telling me that it can't sync content from Audible b/c the computer isn't authorized for that account. If I click to play an audiobook, a login box appears, I type in my password, and everything is fine. I never had to do this before.
