Applications :: ITunes Forgetting Audible Registration?
Apr 3, 2010
Since I upgraded to 9.1 this week, every time I try to sync my iPod iTunes pops up an error message telling me that it can't sync content from Audible b/c the computer isn't authorized for that account. If I click to play an audiobook, a login box appears, I type in my password, and everything is fine. I never had to do this before.

I've bought a few audiobooks from [URL] to listen to during my travels, but the cover art is extremely low resolution. I've tried the usual ways of importing a higher-res version but it appears that I'm not allowed to change it.

I just purchased a new MacBook Pro and had my local apple store transfer my iTunes library from my old iMac to my new MacBook. To look at it on the screen, everything looks fine. But when I try to download my book that I purchased from audible.com to my new iPod it's telling me, "Some of the Audible files in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPod because you are not authorized to play them on this computer."Â

MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

iTunes 10.6.1 crashes on my iMac (10.7.3, 4 GB) whenever I try to open, play or interact in any way with Audible books. This is new in the last 2-3 weeks. Â
I have tried (Command) O, drag n drop, double click on file and "add to library". Every time it crashes. I have sent reports to Apple. I can add the files to iTunes Library, but they never open in iTunes without crashing it.Â
Everything in my Audible account looks appropriate so I don't think it's that end?Â
Anyone with similar issues? Or, better, a solution? I am going to try backing up and re-downloading the app, I think.Â

I'm trying to use Safari on Windows again now that a smooth scroll extension has finally been released. However, I have now encountered another problem and was hoping someone could point me to the relevant option or checkbox to make this work. I like to make the text size on different websites different sizes using Ctrl & +. That works fine. However, unlike Firefox, IE and Chrome, Safari keeps forgetting my text size preferences, so when I close it and then re-open it, every website where I've altered the text size has gone back to the default text size. Is someone able to tell me how to get Safari to remember these text size preferences?

If I cancel my Audible subscription, can I still listen to my books? Or will they be DRM'ed so I can't?

This is driving me insane. I'm a member of quite a few internet forums and I cannot for the life of me remember all of their passwords. Ever since updating OS X and Safari it keeps forgetting my login details for them even though I tell it to remember when I'm given the option! Sometimes it will remember and keep me logged into a forum when I next visit it. But then it seems to forget again after a couple of days. I'm getting rather fed up of this.

My MacBook Pro is connected to the LED Cinema Display. Every time it wakes from sleep, or sometimes after screensaver, it forgets the colour profile. I have to go system preferences and click display and then it automatically uses the correct profile. This happens on both the LED display and the MacBook screen. I am running Snow Leopard, and I don't think I had this issue before upgrading. I googled and found one thread on a different forum about the exact same issue, but no answer. [URL:....] Interestingly it was posted before Snow Leopard.

Returned from vacation to a message that I need a stronger password for my Apple ID than the one I've used for years. I created a new password, which was fine for 4 days, but now iCloud again says my password is wrong. It's not. Apple has forgotten it, and I've had to create yet another one.

Anyone notice that the fans that used to run silent are now audible? It's not full-blast, but I can hear the fans on my 2008 8-core Mac Pro which is sitting on the ground next to me -- that I used to be so quiet I had to put my ear up to the machine to hear them. Just wanted to confirm if others are noticing this, or if it's just me. It's the same amount of noise under any condition. I've got a 2008 Mac Pro 2.8/octo, just installed Snow Leopard on release day.

When my new i7 is on my usual desk (where iMac 24" white stood silently before), it sounds like a dishwasher. Or a plane engine. The low, loud vibrating noise drives me so mad I snap. It penetrates my very brain and makes it vibrate. It's audible from another room. In desperation, I raised my Mac and the sound stopped. I put it on the floor, and the machine is silent. Back on desk - airplane engine sound again. What the heck? My desk has been perfect for all my other computers, what's so special about i7?

So I was writing a paper with the computer on my lap, then moved it with the lid still open to my desk, but as I was lifting it up I heard a very audible clicking noise. I attempted to repeat the experiment and found that my MBP will make a distinct single click when lifted suddenly upwards with the screen open. The noise comes from the right side, I assume from the super drive. Does the super drive have a sudden motion sensor like the HD, or is this something else? The noise never happens when the laptop is stationary, only like I said, when open and lifted straight up suddenly. I guess it happens with the lid closed, but after a few times, it stops doing it.

I've had my MBP for 3 years, and I'm usually decent enough at fixing minor problems that I have. I got a new pair of Sennheiser HD 280 Pro's today, and I can't use them with my computer for some reason. I've attempted to reset the pram, I've checked all the system preferences, I actually CAN hear the audio through the phones. It's barely audible at max volume. I've never had this problem before. I've tried to plug a different pair of headphones in and I have the same problem. So basically, I'm stuck troubleshooting, and wondering what I can do to remedy this.

Just got it today. When I sleep it, a quiet but audible noise kicks off that increases and decreases in intensity with the light on the front of the unit gets brighter and dimmer (so sort of sinusoidal). I've tried restarting it and resetting the SMC. The unit got upgraded to 4Gb ram and a 7200 320gb hard drive today. But I don't believe it's the hard drive - that makes a very low key monotonous whine that stops when I sleep the unit.

I have just purchased a new imac 27" but noticed that the glass screen on the front did not fit flush on the left side to the aluminium unit. The overhang could be quite clearly seen from front and back and running your finger along it confirmed it stuck out with a resultant slightly sharp corner to the bottom right.I arranged for the return and replacement of the unit and a new one arrived today, I have not yet seen it myself, but my partner said it seems to have the same problem only this time on the right hand side! He also seems to think the hard drive is far more audible on this replacement.Has anyone else had similar issues? I don't know whether we are just being too fussy, but I've not seen it like this in the shops and for ?1649 I want it to be right!

I purchased a 13" MBP a couple of days ago and got the Applecare protection plan with it. I was in the process of registering it, but I realized that there was no AppleCare Registration Number that came with the box. I read some where that if I bought my MBP with the applecare that it would be automatically registered, but when I tried to check my registration status it said that I didn't have anything registered. My question is, are there any other ways to check if my MBP got registered?
