Trying to trim clips in Quicktime 10, they are quicktime movies and when I try to export it says it cannot the media may be damaged. How do you save a trimmed clip?

I've been trying to to export my Audio from FCPX 10.1.3 as Separate Files (per Roles) from a Multicam clip but it stops and freezes after exporting the first Audio track listed in the export setting. Example:
I have a Multicam clip with 3 Audio Roles (Bob, John and Marc, all assigned to their Audio Roles).When i export Audio as Roles (separate files), i then select all the Roles i want to export: Marc + John + Bob. It will export up to 35% or so and freeze.Then i look in the Finder location of the export to see the audio of Marc only.
If i put John + Marc + Bob, i will see the Audio for John only and so on.If (i have to at this point) i cancel the export, the audio file gets deleted and i get nothing out of FCP. Is there a way to export Audio as Separate Roles file from a Multicam clip or do i need to add all the Audio clip separately from the Multicam on the Timeline?
I'm adding the audio in the Multicam clip so that, if i want to remove a chunk of video from the timeline, The audio attached to it will also be removed and everything stays sync'ed after the cut i made.Â
I tried Detaching the Audio from the Main Timeline. I then get the Audio but still in a "multi cam" bundle. When i select that and look in the Inspector, i see all the Roles but i can't Export like i want to.Â

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a CAF file that I want to export to MP3. I don't want to use iTunes to do this, since I figure that QuickTime should be able to do it for me quickly. There is no export to MP3 available, however. I looked around on the Web and saw some QuickTime components, but cannot seem to find a recent one that is a Universal binary.
Is it possible to export CAF to MP3 via QuickTime?
Trying to convert a .mov file to .wmv using either flip4mac or perian or any other plugin. In any configuration QT crashes no matter what conversion type I'm using. A little rectangular white window appears with only the orange dot visible and within seconds I get the beach ball running and have to Force Quit QT. Looked all over the internet to no avail - except lots of complaints regarding conversion in QT with no real solutions being offered. Emptied cash and trashed prefs file all to no avail. Is this a QT bug in 7.5.5 although I haven't heard anything on the Apple site?
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I upgraded to Snow Leopard I thought that Quicktime X was supposed to be better. -.- ...NOT the case! I usually obtain .mkv movies with DTS or AC3 audio which I can't play since I don't have a receiver right now.
But since I upgraded to Snow Leopard, Quicktime 7 has been shutting down as soon as I press Export? Which puts a huge dent in everything since that was the only way for me to go from 1080p .mkv w/DTS(AC3) to 1080p .mp4 with stereo.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe subject line says it all. When I export files with Quicktime Pro, it sometimes creates a .xip file with the .mov file. The key word is 'sometimes'. I just exported 43 files with the exact same settings, and eight of them ended up with .xip files.

I'm having trouble with the new quicktime pro. I'm trying to export a video with specific settings when exporting. It seems that in this version of quicktime you export and the only options i get is how to format : for ipad/pod/phone or 480p which is not what I want I need to change the settings to make my video 480x360 and fast start for web.

I have QT Pro 7.6.6 installed on a system running 10.6.8. When I try to export a file as a Quicktime movie, the setting button doesn't do anything. I doubt anyone will be able to reproduce this, but here are the steps: - Open a file with quicktime 7 - Go to File > Export... - Change the Export dropdown menu to Movie to QuickTime Movie - Click Options… - Under Video click Settings… That's it. When I click Settings in that last step, the button changes color to indicate that I've click it, but nothing happens. The other buttons (filter, size, settings) on that same dialog box work. As I said, I don't believe anyone will be able to reproduce this, but what I'd like to know is are there any pref files or other files that I can trash to see if it helps? I've already deleted my quicktime preferences, and that did nothing.

I tried it a few different ways, as AIFF, another, and it saves a large file but doesn't sound when I play it. No sound. Is there a way to save it so it's audible? These are AVI files.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just updated to iPhoto '11 version 9.3 so I could import my AVCHD videos. Everything went fine on the iPhoto side. However, when I call up the captured clips in Quicktime, I can't export them. The export options are grayed out. The entire Share menu is grayed out. None of the movies show up in iMovie under the iPhoto Videos either. (Don't know if that's related.) This is a real problem because my camera shots 1080i and I have to deinterlace them. Doing so with Quicktime is the easiest way to both deinterlace them and get them into iTunes all in one step. Quicktime 10.1 (501.22)

I can't export a certain project to QuickTime in iMovie, but I can export it to other formats. The iMovie error message is: The movie could not be exported because an error occurred. (Error = -5000)
What's strange is that I was exporting this project to QuickTime yesterday, made some changes and tried to export again, and no luck? Yet it'll export to mv4 etc. I repaired permissions etc, and still no luck. I'm assuming it's related to permissions, but I have no idea where to start.

I've been using Compressor 4 for some time and have been converting .MOV files into >WMV files. When I selected an output source the Quicktime Export Components always showed up at the bottom of the list. I would select it and then be able to START BATCH. Now, it's no longer there. Instead, the word CUSTOM is there, instead, which I can't click on at all.
I've always had and used Flip4Mac and even upgraded but still the option to select Quicktime Export Components is missing entirely. I've rebooted the program and just can't get it back.Â
I've been slowly but surely figuring out the FCE program. About 3 months ago I editied a video, exported it and when I clicked on the .MOV file it automatically converted it to a QuickTime compatible file, which I was then able to save and upload to YouTube with no issues. I have not updated or changed any settings or anything on my computer since then and now when I export a video it shows up as an .MOV file that QuickTime can't access. Also, when I click on the "more info" button, it sends me to a link with a list of compatible formats and at the very top of the list is .MOV! I really don't know what to do now.Â
I just want to be able to view the video I edited and post it to YouTube. Â

When I export the sequence I edited with quicktime, the playback video is very different from what I edited on the timeline. The playback has the clips with ins and outs that are way off than what I cut, and some of the clips don't show at all or have changed transitions. However when I play in the timeline in FCP, the sequence is fine, just the way I cut it.
The source of the clips was one long .mov that I cut into clips for the timeline. Everything has gone smoothly but the exported .mov is just so different. How can I get the time codes of the clips to be the same in the exported .movs? I just want the quicktime .mov to represent my edit exactly. can I play within the FCP player window and Log and Capture? Â

I own a Sony Cyber-shot camera, and a 24 inch IMAC computer. I took a short video clip and downloaded it to Iphoto (no problem doing that). I then downloaded the clip to a 4 gpb flash drive, as an mp4 video. My problem is that my friends Microsoft based PC can't play it.

As of late i've been importing what i film into iMovie. In iMovie i'll edit the video to my liking. In iMovie i'll "export" to the media browser so it'll show up in GarageBand. Then i'll open GarageBand and edit my film further, dealing with sound; adding music. After that i'll export it as a .MOV to my desktop. Then i'll open iMovie again and import that .MOV file and from there in iMovie will have it upload to YouTube in its original HD format.
Does anyone know how to save the Quicktime Movies that the Tutorial site, LYNDA.COM has ? Is there a QuickTime Movie Saver app out there ?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have several HD videos from my Sony NEX-3 camera that will not play very well from within iMovie. They freeze up, or run in slow motion while the sound track continues without any problem. I've seen other related comments on this forum, but no one has suggested a fix yet. I can play my clips just fine from the finder menu using "Quick Look". Other videos from the same camera work, what has changed?

Added chapters but when EXPORT - USE QUICKTIME and set properites to HD format, once done (5 hours) chapters are not available in Quicktime. I read that when exporting to tiny video format, chapters are not available but here I' exportin to an HD format. I have had this problem quite a while now:When I open an .avi file it automatically opens using QuickTime. I'd like that because it's the best player for Apple.The problem is however that I can only hear the sound, there's no image/video.I use 10.7.2.
