I am working on a project in Second Life [URL] and have been advised that I need to update the driver on my graphics card to solve some problems encountered in Second Life. There does not seem to be an update for this card for Macs. I have asked Apple for help, but they have told me my serial number does not exist even though it is registered and I have had technical help from them in the past. Second Life say they do not support this graphics card!

Mar 31, 2010I have a Mac Pro (1,1) on which I'm running Snow Leopard and Windows 7 Pro in boot camp.
I recently upgraded my Mac to 10GB of RAM, and have noticed when I boot into Windows (currently the 32-bit version), it's telling me I have 1.99GB usable.
I figure this is requiring me to install the 64-bit version. This is where I'm stuck.
If I try to run the BootCamp64 installer off of the Snow Leopard disk, I get a message saying "This installation package is not supported by this processor type. Contact your product vendor".

Power Mac :: G5 Quad LCS Repair?
Feb 2, 2012Whilst servicing my LCS I had the misfortune to break the outlet pipe fom processor A's heat transfer block. (For anyone attempting to remove the factory fit tubes DO NOT try pulling them off-cut them above the barbed pipe with snips and then carefully cut them lengthwise with a craft knife and peel them back). I first tried repairing it with super glue to no avail and then tried araldite rapid which formed a strong bond. I was concerned that any bending moment would break the join so to minimise this I cut a 3mm length of the new clear PVC tube, slid it down to the base of the pipe and liberally coated in more araldite. To further reduce bending I moved it to processor B's slot as the pipe for that is more upright. I filled the system with a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water. I then spent hours bleeding the system without much success.

So I always buy Macpro but! now IMac comes quad, nice monitor etc. My question is if new IMac is more power that my machine? The new IMac is more power even I buy more ram? 32gb? vs the 16gb of new IMac?

It hung tonight while trying to burn a CD using Toast 9, which I could not even Force Quit. I closed it down using the Power button but when I rebooted it wont play, burn or recognise any media in the CD/DVD Drive! I have had the original replaced a year ago. Has it died or is it a more complicated software or OSX problem? I am running Mac OS X 10.5.8 (9L30) Kernel Version:Darwin 9.8.0 on my Mac. The DVD drive has been making some strange whirring noises occasionally as I ripped CDs to my hard drive.

MacBook Pro :: I7 Processor Will Not Power Up After Battery Ran Out
May 21, 2012The 2011 macbook pro with i7 processor will not power up or charge at all. The problem started after my battery ran out and the computer shut down. Since then, when I plug in the charger only the green light turns on. In addition the light on the base (in front of the keyboard) flashes. Nothing happens when I hit the power button. The charger still works on other laptops. To emphasize, the screen will not even light up. It sounds as if the computer is starting (for less than a second) before stopping, only to start again but that is purely speculative.

Oct 15, 2008I am perfectly happy with my MBA, but I must admit that I like to always have the "latest and greatest". The new MacBooks look great, although I haven't seen one "live" or had the opportunity to get hands on with one yet. If I buy a new MacBook, I give up the form factor, but gain the processor power, features, etc. Also, it will really feel like a new computer because of the different appearance. Since I like the MBA form factor, I was thinking of just upgrading to that. The problem is that it won't even feel like I got a new laptop, because visually it would be identical to the one I have now. In fact, the reduced battery life may not offset the benefit of larger HD and improved graphics. Dying for a new laptop though... what are you other MBA owners thinking?

Jun 3, 2012I have a Power Mac G5 2.0 GHZ 1 TB and 250GB Hard Drive, 4 GB of Ram Running 10.5.8 Leopard. Now i bougth this mac on ebay to EDIT VIDEOS AND PICTURES. BUT, i cant do either because all the editing software requires snow leopard or higher. the Mac doesnt even have I Movie, Garage Band. To get any sort of editing software i need snow leopard. To get snow leopard i have to have an Intel Based Processor MINE ISN'T INTEL. So pretty much i have NO WAYS to edit or create videos.
