Jan 16, 2010It must be some ad blocker or something, but I can't view videos. I can't seem to find what's causing it. I can go to YouTube and watch a video, but when someone posts a link, I am unable to make it play. I'll get a site with a black rectangle where the video is supposed to be. Happens on links from tweets too. Safari and Firefox both. I tried the Flash uninstall/reinstall/disc permission/restart routine twice.

Feb 12, 2008I bought my iMac a few months ago and still can't get to watch what I need to for my business. I breed and own Thoroughbred Race Horses and need to be able to watch races on the web. The people in the store said sure no problem but I still cannot. I have downloaded Flip4Mac which seems to have failed miserably plus Real Player, Quicktime etc.
Can someone do me a favor and tell me if they can watch this video?

Dec 26, 2008I can't seem to watch video of any duration, now. Downloaded tv show and slowed to freeze, stills, with audio going forward. I used to be able to. Watching streaming video is also similar, though have the variable of the wireless to factor in. I have one of the original airs with regular hard drive. I turn off virtually every application, but still doesn't work!

I'm sick of watching each individually, and I also didn't like the size that cover flow shoes when going through them by it.
Quick look is good, but sometimes it crashes on my computer (I don't know why).
Is there a solution by Quick time, that can run several videos, one after another? or maybe a way to use automator for that?

Jun 12, 2012I've never had any success in watching videos posted on Apple's web site. All I ever get is a QuickTime icon, controls and what I assume is a loading bar flashing back and forth like Kitt's lightbar from Knight Rider! It will never start playing anything. I'm at work and on a Windows 7 x64 workstation. I've tried Firefox v13, IE9 and Safari v5.1.7 using QuickTime 7.7.1. Here is a screen shot of what I see..

Sep 10, 2009I've just bought my first mac and loving it except one major problem. I'm using it as a media centre to play music, photos, movies etc and most importantly to watch catch up tv. Unfortunately I can't watch bbc iplayer, itv or channel four on demand. Each time I load a video it simply stalls at the beginning (except itv which just rotates through adverts). Mar 21, 2012One day I had to look for a web page that only supporst firefox or explorer, I do not like other browser but safari, so I had to install that **** firefox, once I checcked that page, (an official page for governement) I uninstalled firefox, I do not like it and I rather my safari, suddenly I cannot watch video on youtube using my safari browser, some videos I can watch and a lot of them I cannot, videos that I have watched before, I checked my other mac wich is like a twin of mine only less ram and It works perfect on youtube.

Oct 12, 2009I'm happily browsing the internet with firefox/safari and I decide to open up iTunes in order to play some music and it starts to download video podcasts. No problem right? I like to watch video podcasts... except suddenly, the pages I try to load in firefox start to hang. It is like they all start to time out. Until I pause the iTunes downloads, then everything starts to work properly again. It is not only iTunes that hogs the pipe, I also have this problem everytime time machine makes a backup. Does anybody else experience this? Anyone know how to fix it? I don't remember having this problem back when I was a windows user. I might just need a fresh OS/X install...

Apr 11, 2012I was trying to watch a show on Slice.ca and it kept telling me that my JavaScript wasn't enabled and I was unable to watch the video. a few days before I was able to use the site perfectly, but after downloading the new Java update it wont work. When I go into my preferences on safari, it says that java-scrip is in fact enabled, so I'm not sure why the website isn't recognizing that it is enabled.

Jun 5, 2012So I recently moved EVERYTHING from my old Mac desktop to my new one. When I record a video and then click to watch it, the recording screen will go black and the little color wheel will show up and long story short, I havent been able to watch any videos for a few days (for the first couple hours after the stuff on my old imac -> new imac, I could watch videos perfectly fine. Maybe its because I am currently updating iPhoto and its taking a veryyyy long time.) But...with my old iMac, I had about 10 slides of extra photobooth effects. It slowed down photobooth TREMENDOUSLY but I didnt know how to uninstall them.Unfortunately, those same effects have moved over to my new mac and its driving me nuts. I thought that was the culprit and tried uninstalling them. I cant do Library>Compositions>erase because when I do so, theres nothing there to delete!
