MacBook Pro :: Why Is Computer So Slow - Can't Even Watch A Smooth Video Anymore
May 21, 2012
I have an anti-virus and don't have that many documents or anything, I don't download big files, all I have is powerpoints from my profesors and pictures from my DSLR and pretty much nothing else
I installed Snow Leopard about a week ago and since then, my Macbook Pro has been running sluggish. Especially when I open iChat and start a video, the whole system runs really, really slow. Also, my fans have been kicking on more and more, louder and louder even though my computer isn't running that hot (and I have it sitting on a chill pad).
If you go to: [URL] or any HD youtube,... the video is laggy on my 2.0 MB unibody. I know it's not my internet connection problem as my MBP 2.4 Unibody is playing fine. Should I download firefox? Does anyone out there with the same laptop has the same problem?
I noticed my iMac (Late 2009 C2D) was running a bit sluggish over the last month so I asked my Mac enthusiast buddy what I could do to help improve performance. He suggested that I use OnyX to do some system cleaning and repair permissions. I did the repair permissions (only two errors found) then headed to the cleanup section of the app.
I can't watch videos anymore, on any site (youtube, facebook...). I hear the sound, but the browser (Safari, Firefox, Opera, Chrome) locks in place. I reinstalled Flash Player multiple times. I updated everything there is to update. Still can't watch videos. This happened overnight from March 30 to April 1.
Hey guys, i got an old Powerbook that the whole family use to surf the net. I notice its been super slow lately. Ive never had a problem with this notebook, I've only done 2 reinstall in the time ive owned it. I recentluy did another one, and notice its still slow, loading websites is slow, cant watch movies on it. This is a notebook i use to do photoshop and illustrator work on.
Do you think its just its time? I think it could be the hard drive or memory, is there any type of diagnostic i can do to find out what the problem is?
Is it just my macbook air that is slow gets really hot fans start blowing and it stutters during any kind of videos i already had the logic board switched out and it is still tripping out i want to throw it against the wall !!!!!
I can't seem to watch video of any duration, now. Downloaded tv show and slowed to freeze, stills, with audio going forward. I used to be able to. Watching streaming video is also similar, though have the variable of the wireless to factor in. I have one of the original airs with regular hard drive. I turn off virtually every application, but still doesn't work!
It must be some ad blocker or something, but I can't view videos. I can't seem to find what's causing it. I can go to YouTube and watch a video, but when someone posts a link, I am unable to make it play. I'll get a site with a black rectangle where the video is supposed to be. Happens on links from tweets too. Safari and Firefox both. I tried the Flash uninstall/reinstall/disc permission/restart routine twice.
I'm essentially looking for a an adapter between mini DisplayPort and RCA connectors. I'm using a 13 inch macbook pro to a TC with only the red, white, and yellow (RCA) connectors. Unfortunately I can not find the cable anywhere online.
I thought I fixed it with a wireless-n router and it worked perfectly till now. I was loading videos on youtube in seconds with no buffering and fully loaded, and could stream even 1080hd videos on there and other sites no problem. Now the MBP is going slow again, like there's this lag when browsing, and I can't even watch youtube videos anymore unless their 240p as anything else buffers every couple of seconds.
It's not the internet, as like I've said before I have an pc in another room across the condo on the wireless network and its blazing fast browsing and watching/streaming videos. I've seen other post about this lately and really leading me to believe these $ MBP just suck on wireless networks, b/c I can be right next to my router and no changes... and my girlfriends cheap netbook can stream videos faster with no buffering then my expensive piece of aluminum.
I saw someone else say enter this for DNS and I had already done that, so is something screwed up here?: 208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220 4.2.2.1 4.2.2.2 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 and Search Domains next to that says: domain hsd1.fl.comcast.net.
Im using time capsule and MBP trying to watch hd videos on youtube . Its running to slow and wont keep up with the videos. What can I do to make it faster. Or is it my macbook?
I just got my new MacBook Air about two weeks ago and I cannot for the life of me figure out why I can't view video on any site. I can view video on these same sites on my MBPro and my iMac, but not on here. I checked to see if I have the latest version of Quicktime
My one year old MacBook Pro is full already. How can I see what's taking up all the space? I cannot download anymore pictures. It's running slower than usual.
I'd like to watch video from a Sony HDR camcorder on my MacBook Pro during the shoot. The camera has an HDMI output jack and I've got the HDMI converter that plugs into the Thunderbolt port. Is there any way to just watch it, using the MBP as a monitor?Â
It would really be great if the viewfinder mirrored to the MBP as well..
I continue to get a plug-in failure message whenever i try to watch a video. I get it on safari, Firefox, and chrome. I have tried updating my adobe flash player multiple times, but it never helps.
Info: MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.7.3)
I'm using a macbook pro with Lion. I used youtube to listen to songs and watch videos till about a week ago. But now The site opens, but when I click on a video to play, they say that 'An error has occurred'. How can I make it work again?
Why i cant watch youtube as youtube inform this "This video is unavailable with safety Mode enabled. To view this video, to need to disable safety mode" how can i turn off safety mode

I have an external hard drive I was using all morning. This afternoon, the hard drive isn't showing up on my desktop. It does show up in my system profiler under usb. When I go to disk utility to repair it, it isn't there.
