View 1 RepliesApple mail out of office rule is sending auto replies to all emails not just newly received emails--HELP! I set up the rule according to another apple support thread and instead of only sending the reply to new mail received, it was sent to all messages I believe that were in my INBOX, I only had a few but several people that hadn't sent me emails since I set up the rule, received the OUT OF OFFICE reply. Here is the procedure I followed for the out of office rule-[URL]I just used my email account which is a business account- not an ECU account but these rules according to the apple thread apply for all emails.

When I add a signature to a reply email, the signature always generates at the very bottom of the email. Below all the previous quoted text. Is there a way to get the signature to automatically appear below my new message but above all the previous quoted text automatically?Â

I am surprised that this is as tricky as it appears to be. I would like to have a signature with a jpg pic that is a small file and is quickly downloaded to recipients.

Somehow a setting got switched so now whenever I reply to a message, a copy of that message is automatically sent to my inbox as a "new message."
It used to be this would only occur when I hit "reply all" - but now it is all the time. I have looked through mail preferences, but am not seeing the fix.
I faced an odd behaviour by the Signatures feature in Os X Lion. On two specific PDFs that come from the very same source, my signatures have a vertical alignment instead of horizontal as they have on all other PDFs.Â
I did not do any specific tweak to the PDF or to Preview before facing this behaviourÂ

I went to the library to locate mail so I could insert an HTML signature. Problem is, I can't find Mail anywhere. It is not in the library, not in Cache, etc. When I attempt to search for Mail in the finder, before I can select Library as the search location, the finder shuts and pops me into another application. Where is mail? I can use it. It is in my apps folder, etc., but I cannot find it other than in that location. Can't get in to add a signature, etc.

I have a problem with my html signature in the notorious apple mail software. When I reply/forward to some messages, my email signature gets reformatted and is totally ruined. It is just the text, the font and the size are affected. The actual layout remains in tact. About 6 months ago I perfected a HTML email signature after many tests with PC's and other mail recipients. It worked pretty flawlessly to be honest except for the image not displaying on some peoples computers but this is to be expected.Â
We have now got new apple macs running lion. I have now set up the signatures again (using the same web archive file from the last signature) and for the majority of emails we send out works fine however there are a few emails (all from the same company) that display the signature with times new roman and in about 16pt! When the html I've sent up should be verdana 12pt.Â
Again this can happen, but what is odd is that if I hit reply or forward to this message my signature (which I've told it be place above replied text) retains this bad formatting and my signature is ruined. Before, even if someone didnt view my signature correct, and I replied to the email my new signature at the top of the message would still be perfect. Just to point out, I created this email sig in dreamweaver, saved as a webarchive file and imported it that way. Also like I said this didnt happen pre the new computer. I added 4 social media icons to my signature, added the links, but when I send, they stack vertically and the links don't work. I've checked the links to ensure there are no returns at the end of the link.

I can make no sense where Mail is going to place a signature I choose. Sometimes it's in the middle, sometimes at the bottom (invisible without scrolling). A few minutes ago it was placed a the top, above all my text! I feel I have no control over this. I see no algorithm choices in Signatures or General preferences.Â
Is there a way to make the default the simplest, most obvious location: At the cursor? That's when and where I want it when I choose it.

Over the past couple of months I have received a whole lot of emails from I guess the .me server saying unable to send due to error. I have never sent these emails, and I dont know the address they were addressed to, I ignored it thinking it would just stop. This morning I can't get my email due to being locked out for security reasons. I was directed to change my password and now alot of emails are showing up with no subject dated 12/31/69. There must be 50 of them, but my inbox only says I have 13 new emails! What the heck is going on? Has my cloud been hacked.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am new to Mac-have recently migrated from PC to a dear little MacBook. This may be a server problem, but thought I would ask. Suddenly my inbox filled up with 1500 old emails (3-4 months' worth all marked "unread"). Have I inadvertently done something?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm running mail 5.2 on 10.7.3 with imap. I'm having problems with emails not showing up. Or they show up when people send them and then dissapear. They are not being combined in the multiple email from the same user, the new feature of mac mail. They are just not showing up. I can go to my server and see them sitting there. The specific emails today were sent 6 days ago.Â
Also the folder I created for these emails were not showing up either, even though it was created on the server. This is also after hitting syncronize. Â
Third, emails from the past for some folders nore not showing up at all. I can go into folders I have with emails from a month to a year ago and they are competely blank even tough I know there are emails in those folders.

I started my Mac mail application today (set to connect to my gmail accounts through IMAP), and all my mail that was in my inbox is GONE. I don't know if my gmail accounts were hacked or if their implementation of "Priority Inbox" just trashed all my messages older than 35 days. I've changed my password and disabled Priority Inbox. Does anyone have any ideas about how I can recover my e-mails?
