I just got a new MacBook Pro. I have my epson printer on my network. How do I get Image Capture to recognize that I have a printer. Nothing comes up on devices. I'm sort of stabbing in the dark at network settings and I downloaded the latest Epson driver. Nothing seems to work.

I've downloaded the most recent Image Capture software but system preferences and Image Capture still won't recognize the scanner. It might be the fault of the scanner but seeing as other people have. how to try and get my computer to recognize the scanner?

Bought new Mac Mini and have been using it for two weeks with no problem. Until now.
Plugged in my Sony camera which has worked with the old G4 Quicksilver for the last 4 years. iPhoto didn't open, so I checked Image Capture, which says "No device connected"... Checked leads, restarted etc, still the same.
Took the MemoryStick out of the camera and put it in a card reader and iPhoto opened immediately.
Swapped USB sockets. Checked System Profiler; no camera shows as connected.
Any suggestions as to how to get the Sony working again from its cradle? It seems to be connected in the cradle because it's charging OK.
Image Capture no longer shoes my iPhone 4S as a device when plugged in. I've used it successfully for over a year but now it is playing up. I've changed cables, restarted the machine, my hubby has done a disk check. IPhoto recognises it still and the phone charges when plugged in. Have tried both USBs.

I have an Epson Perfection v500 scanner and am having problems getting the Image Capture app to recognize it. The included epson scan software will not work with Snow Leopard- this includes the newer "snow leopard compatible" drivers and app.Anyone else have problems with the Image Capture app and Epson scanners?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I tell Image Capture to save a scan in a particular folder, it doesn't show up there in the Finder. This is a fairly new trick. Sometimes after considerable fiddling, they will suddenly be there.
If I go into Photoshop or Word and search for the files, both Photoshop and Microsoft Word can see the files in the correct folder. The Finder just can't see them.Â

when I try to open a file in Preview. Same error occurs when I simply try to open Preview directly as well. It was working fine yesterday and prior to that. Haven't added any external devices or done any updates so I am not sure what happened. I did however download a game about two days ago called F18 Carrier Landing....could this be the cause...

I am running OS X 10.9.4 in a MacBook Pro, Photoshop CC, and a Canon printer MG8220. I have installed the plug in Easy-PhotoPrint Pro that is advertised at the Canon site as fully supporting that printer. When I automate the plug in from Photoshop it does not work, allegedly because it does not support the printer. It may be be that in fact this is the case but Canon people insists in the compatibility. I have come to think that it may be a matter of drivers, but I have failed to determine unambiguously which one is driving the printer. Then, where can I check the drivers and/or replace them? Although this a matter between one hardware and two softwares clearly not Apple...

I am unable to set up our office Canon image Runner 3225 (iR3225) network printer up. I have followed the steps on both the canon, and apple site. I have also tried driver UFR II (2.24), and other drivers as well. I can look at the printer online but it will not locate it in setup no matter what I do.

I am trying to connect to a windows network printer through my MacBook Air. I can connect to the printer via the windows network and can send documents to print. The document goes through to print but at the last second it says there is an error. When looking on the network windows computer, in which the printer is installed, I can see the document has gone through to print using the printer dialogue box for microsoft, but it details there is an error and the document doesn't print.
It seems that they are connected but there is still an error.Both Windows and Mac computers are up to date currently and the printer is a HP Deskjet F4180.

I have a pre-Intel iMac G5, running OS 10.5.8. I have been using an HP LaserJet P3005, connected with a USB2 cable, with no problems. The fuser got "muddy" on the 3005 so I bought a new HP LaserJet P2035n. I've loaded and reloaded the printer software from the provided CD, downloaded the driver software from the HP support website, but the computer doesn't recognize the printer. Called HP support and everything they suggested came up empty; they told me to exchange the printer for a another new one, but I get the same results with it. I'm using the same USB cable I used with the 3005 -- it worked perfectly with that printer as recently as this morning. What's wrong with my iMac or setup?

It won't download them, and I can't delete them, either. It also won't recognize any new photos I've taken with the camera. Nothing else.I would like not to re-install then update the whole system just for this app (I removed localizations, tweaked some prefs, etc ...).Can someone point me where to find it and why it's got broken?Do other people got the same problem? I am having problems with Image Capture not recognizing all the files on my camera (and recognizing photos that have long since been deleted).So I just took a few pictures to test out and see if I could get it to work right. I plugged in my camera and opened up image capture. I clicked download all. It downloaded two pictures that are not even on my camera (I double checked to make sure) and they were deleted weeks ago. And it's not recognizing the pictures I just took. There are about 23 pictures and it's not recognizing any of them just the two pictures that were deleted a while back. What's going on here? I'm new to Mac by the way.

Image Capture used to work, but now what happens is that I open it up, and my printer/scanner Might show up for a second, but then it disappears and image capture tells me that there's no camera or scanner connected.I think it's stopped working ever since I upgraded to 10.6. Any ideas?
