A few weeks ago my 16-month old daughter was banging on the keyboard of my iMac. Somehow, she managed to get a full-screen (no tool bar, no menu, no scroll bar, just a big full screen image) of the webpage I was looking at on Safari. Does anyone know the keystroke she must have hit to make this happen?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to select pictures 1-15 to put in a different folder. I'd click pic1, hold shift, then click on pic15. That selects all the files in between as well. How do I go about doing this same thing in OS X? I've tried just about every combination of the shift, control, option, and apple key with clicking but nothing works.

It used to be there, and I have another account set up in Mail and the number appears next to it when there is an unread message. It's just this one account. Here is a picture of what it is like, even though there is an unread message in the mailbox.I want the number of unread messages to be next to Gmail on the right. Also, the number of unread messages for the Gmail account do not appear on the Dock icon. Both of these functions work with my other account that is set up in Mail, and that account is a Gmail as well.

Although the number of unread messages is properly shown under Inbox on the Mailboxes list next to two of my three Mail accounts, the other one shows none when there some. The quantity is also missing from the total number of messages next to Inbox when I collapse the list. This was working fine for many years.

An error occurred while moving messages to mailbox “Trash — (Folder)”. Leopard/Lion ... who cares. I've always been able to set up my corporate Exchange email account using OSX Mail application. However, I have NEVER been able to delete messages from my InBox. Is this just a set up issue I am unaware of or is this a long-standing bug Apple refuses to fix?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy apologies if this problem has already been covered - I haven't seen it.
Yesterday I tried to rename a mailbox (folder) in Mail. As soon as I changed the name, all of its sub-folders (sub-mailboxes?) disappeared except the one I was in. That particular sub-folder still shows its message (email) headers, but each email has lost its contents and is now showing the following error message:
"The message from ... has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it."
All the missing sub-folders are sitting in an extra white (greyed-out?) phantom mailbox with the old name, and they are showing no emails at all.
In short, I appear to have lost all the messages (emails) in the renamed mailbox and its sub-folders, and the Undo button in the Edit menu is greyed out.
Can anyone suggest a way to bring them back? Restoring the system to the most recent back-up will mean I will lose a lot of messages.
My version of Mail is 2.1.3 and I am running OS 10.4.11.
Using Leopard and Mail.
Under Trash I have 'POP Account' and 'On My Mac'
When I select a message and press delete I get a warning saying:
The message ... could not be moved to the mailbox Deleted Messages POP Account
The destination mailbox Deleted Messages POP Account does not allow messages to be moved to it.
I can drag a message to the 'On My Mac' folder and select delete and this removes the email - but seems wrong.
This is my first mac (first day), im used to a deleted message going to a bin which you choose to empty as and when.
So far today, we've got about 10,000 new messages in our mailbox but they're all old ones that were deleted long ago. If we try to delete them now, they come back again.

I receive now systematicaly a copy of a mail I sent, one day before, to someone else, in a mailbox "recovered messages" (this is however my translation of the french name of the mailbox: ( "Messages récupérés - IMAP"). Deleting this message does'nt cure the problem: the message comes again (I do'nt know from where) and again. How to stop this reoccurant mail?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen archiving my Exchange account locally on my Mac, the server keeps syncing the messages back to my Mac! Ideally I would like my MacBook Pro to 'lead' the sync rather than 'combine'. I have tried many options including setting up a 'rule' which didn't move a single message! Also I tried copying all the messages, placing them in a local file & then deleting them from the inbox. But anything over around 10 messages, it just doesn't work! I have around 3000 messages I need to archive & cannot do it ten at a time. Also if I try using the web account on a browser it only allows me to move around ten at a time...! I am running 10.9.4 using Mac Mail.

I am posting this in the Mac Pro forum because I am not seeing this issue on my my Macbook Pro, and therefore think it may be machine-specific. Since upgrading my Mac OS to Lion, the first keystroke is often rejected by the password field on the login screen. The field accepts the keystroke initially, but then "refreshes" and blanks out. This causes a lot of login errors, and I have to retype my password. It only happens when first logging in, never on the second entry of my password. Also, it happens equally often whether logging in on a cold boot, or when logging back in after logging out. Additionally, it doesn't happen every single time, although it happens a lot. My Lion system is an upgrade/install, and I often wonder if a clean install would fix this.

My Apple Mail account is connected with an Exchange 2003 server. I don't have Hebrew enabled on my macbook. I have a folder on my Mac with about 100 .eml files, which were dragged and dropped out of Microsoft Entourage a few months ago.Is there way to import this whole folder and its .eml files into a mailbox inside Apple Mail?I can do it one by one by opening a single .eml file in Mail and moving it to the mailbox: Message menu -> Move To -> [Mailbox]
However I would like to do this in one go. I tried EmailConverterLite from the App Store, and while it works quite well, imported messages do NOT have a paperclip symbol if they have attachments. This is really hard as you would have to look through all messages to find messages with attachments.

I love Smart Mailboxes in Apple Mail. I have been getting emails from a subscribed content provider and now I realize that I'd like to have a Smart Mailbox with all of the past and future mailings from them. Is there any way to select just one (or all) of the emails I have received and create a Smart Mailbox with a single menu selection? I have tried selecting one of them, then 'New Smart Mailbox...' bt it doesn't recognize I have a selection...or doesn't put the sender of the email nto the recipient field (which is the default criteria in a new Smart Mailbox'). If it doesn't now do this, hey, Apple, future feature?
