I have an iPod classic and my iTunes account was on my old pc. How do I transfer my account to my Mac and sync my iPod without loosing all my playlists?
I'm running Lion on an 27" iMac (first i7 iteration), and have a folder on an external HDD that contains a couple of hundred subfolders.
However - when viewing them in Finder, only the first hundred or so display.
The others are there - searching the disc finds the folders and their contents and, once, the contents are located, they'll display in the expanded view.
I copied the offending folder across to the Mac's main HD, but this behaviour came across with it. This, by the way, was happening on Snow Leopard too before I upgraded to Lion.
Every time I put itunes music files into my shared folder from the administrator's account then try to drop it into my itunes library on my other account, it says I do not have write access and should check my music folders. Well, I gave every music folder and itunes write access privileges, but I still get the same message when I try to transfer the music.
I have a new mini mac and used migration assistant to transfer my iTunes library to it. However even though they are "on" the mini mac, they are in the transferred account. How do I transfer them to the new account on the mini mac?
around 100 of my songs wont transfer because it says that the purchases are not authorised for this computer or account or something like that. Yet the others transferred no problems and they are from the old account as well. What do i do? or is there and easier way to trasfer my music onto my new itunes account so that i get all my music?

I have a lot of old VHS but my VHS reader is broken. There is some HW and SW product somebody can suggest to use with my iMac in order ti perform the tranfer of the contents?
I tried using the migration assistant to transfer files (mainly pictures and word documents) from my old windows xp machine to my new macbook pro after the initial account setup, but I cannot find them. I know they are on the computer because of the decrease in free hard drive space. I had read on the internet that it may have created another user account and put the files there, but when I check in the users and groups, the only other account it shows is the guest, which I had had disabled. I would like to find out where the files are, and how I may be able to get them.

I am looking to sell my old 2006 Macbook Pro. Currently it is being used as my wife's iPhone itunes platform/backup. Is there an easy way to transfer this info to a new user account on my new Macbook pro?
I bought this new MacBook Pro a month ago. When I try logging into my guest account, it froze. I had no other alternative but to get out of it by pressing the power button. Then I tried open a new user account to see if it also has the same problem. Unfortunately it did have the same problem - froze after I logged in. I had done a harddisk check, there seemed to be no problem.

My G5 is completely full. Can I transfer my iphoto contents to an external HD? Using Time Machine won't help because it only backs up my photos so I can't add more to my iphoto library.
Or, is there a way to make iphoto an external HD application so the photos are only stored ion the external HD?
I recently moved from France to the USA. So, I modified my Apple account to USA, but I losted all my purchases. Is there a way to recover them ? Or is it still on the French store, so I just have to re-change my country to found my precedent purchases ?
I have a Imac 20 with a small 3.5 hard drive and I have bought a bigger 360 gig 3.5 hard drive to replace the old one. I have the new one in an external case with USB 2.0 right now. I want to create another account for my girlfriend, I know how to do it and everything works fine. But I also want to share the music I have on iTunes with her account. So we want two separate account with the same iTunes, is this possible?
I am a long time PC user, and my girlfriend has just recently bought me a Macbook Pro. . So being a Pc user my entire life, i, of course have iTunes on my PC. My question is there any way to transfer my itunes library to my new Macbook Pro? Or is my only choice to do it with a Flash Drive?
I bought a MacBook in May and loaded maybe 50 songs in. Monday I returned it and exchanged it for the MacBook Pro, 13 inch. The Apple Store did the transferring of everything for me and all looked good, except today I tried to open iTunes and got the following message:The file 'Tunes Library cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes.
So, will the problem be resolved if I connect the iPod Touch and they sync, or do I have a major problem? If I do have a problem, can it be fixed, and how?
So far everything else seems just fine. I would go back to the Apple Store but it is a 2 hour drive one way. If I can resolve this without a trip to the store I'd appreciate it. I do have Apple Care, which I can use if this is too complicated.
My daughter bought a new Macbook Pro. When she took her old Gateway computer in to the Apple store for them to transfer her files they told her they were not able to transfer her music files due to corrupt files on the old computer. All of her music she has purchased since about 2005 are on her ipod and phone. Some of the original music she purchased was through an AOL account which she has since discontinued and the rest of her music has been purchased under her mobileme/icloud account. Since purchasing the new laptop, she has not synced her ipod or iphone with the laptop, as we have been told that she will potentially lose all those songs which were purchased under the old AOL account, which is probably better than 50% of her songs. What is going to happen to her music if she snycs the ipod or iphone with this laptop?
