I've got over 320g of music on an external hard drive. I am in the process of switching to a Mac. I have iTunes installed on the Mac....I just need to figure out how to get all the music from the pc to the Mac. I've been running iTunes on my pc since the very first version for Windows. Both pc and Mac have the latest versions of iTunes.

Emailing them is not an option, there are 2000 of them.

I just noticed that I cant bring up my music/tvshows/movies from my itunes library (from my mac) on my ipad. I checked all the home sharing setting on the mac and on the ipad, restarted everything, to no avail! My apple tv works fine! I recently updated my OS on the iMac to 10.7.4, would this cause the issue? I am running 5.1.1 on the ipad.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI already have the iMac up and running and would like to bring my eMac libraries over to the new iMac. Is the easiest way to this is drag and drop files on the iMac from the eMac using firewire? How do I mount the eMac as an external drive? I bought a new ibook in the the past, but never transfered my 25,000+ picture iPhoto or 3,000+ iTunes libraries to it (saved space). Also, I assume all I have to do for the copy protected aac files I have downloaded on the eMac is to add my log in to the iTunes on the iMac?

I have an iMac that is rapidly filling up. I would like to move my iTunes and iPhoto library to my external harddrive (I currently use for Time Machine). Is this possible or even adviseable? If I were to do this, what would I need to do. Is it as simple as moving the folders that hold these files on to the external. Would the programs find them.

I am a long time PC user, and my girlfriend has just recently bought me a Macbook Pro. . So being a Pc user my entire life, i, of course have iTunes on my PC. My question is there any way to transfer my itunes library to my new Macbook Pro? Or is my only choice to do it with a Flash Drive?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought a MacBook in May and loaded maybe 50 songs in. Monday I returned it and exchanged it for the MacBook Pro, 13 inch. The Apple Store did the transferring of everything for me and all looked good, except today I tried to open iTunes and got the following message:The file 'Tunes Library cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes.
So, will the problem be resolved if I connect the iPod Touch and they sync, or do I have a major problem? If I do have a problem, can it be fixed, and how?
So far everything else seems just fine. I would go back to the Apple Store but it is a 2 hour drive one way. If I can resolve this without a trip to the store I'd appreciate it. I do have Apple Care, which I can use if this is too complicated.

My daughter bought a new Macbook Pro. When she took her old Gateway computer in to the Apple store for them to transfer her files they told her they were not able to transfer her music files due to corrupt files on the old computer. All of her music she has purchased since about 2005 are on her ipod and phone. Some of the original music she purchased was through an AOL account which she has since discontinued and the rest of her music has been purchased under her mobileme/icloud account. Since purchasing the new laptop, she has not synced her ipod or iphone with the laptop, as we have been told that she will potentially lose all those songs which were purchased under the old AOL account, which is probably better than 50% of her songs. What is going to happen to her music if she snycs the ipod or iphone with this laptop?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I set up my new mac it offered me the ability to transfer my files from one computer to another. Silly me, I was tired, and chose not to do it at that time.
How do I get back to that screen? And, is it difficult? I have slightly more ability than basic but am not a guru. And I admit to not having done this in years, I normally just copy things on cd rom, but if there is a simple way, this would be great.
I really only want my photographs to transfer. It is easy to do my files.
I could I know download my pics from me.com but I think it would take forever as they are at full resolution.
I am trying to transfer files from my white Macbook to my new refurb 2.8 Imac. I am using firewire 6 pin to connect. Then using migration assistant, but transfer always freezes about 1/3 of the way. I've tried moving just my photos no apps but same thing happens. Only way to unfreeze is turn laptop off then I get improper device removal. Am I doing something wrong? Also wondering what is all this stuff in my document folder? 10,000 items, lots of pics, icons and html sheets. Any idea what all that is? Can it safely be deleted?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to install a new, larger HD in my macbook and then make it my primary computer. Currently, I have most of my info on my aging G5 iMac which is slowly starting to fall apart (i.e. optical drive/keyboard no longer work, making strange noises, etc.). I know that, once I put a new, larger HD in my macbook, I will have to format it and install Leopard. Is there a way to then transfer all of my info from the iMac to the new HD in the macbook after I put Leopard on it? I currently have a Time Machine'd backup external HD hooked up to my iMac.

I just got the new i7 and wanted to use it as my main computer for my Iphone and a few other files. I orginally used a MacBook for backing up and syncing my iphone.
