OS X V10.7 Lion :: Not Able To Access Certain Website
Apr 21, 2012
I was recently able to access a web site until about a week or two ago when the loading bar in safar would load about 1/16 of the way. I am using lion, and using safari as my web browser. I've tried chrome and firefox, still no luck. I can access the site through my iPhone and iPad but not my iMac.
Recently I've been unable to get past the 'maintenance page' of a specific website in order to logon. I've been able to use it without any problems using my macbook pro previously, but now I can't figure out what has changed. I can logon from other computers but its just mine that's not working anymore.
I think this is the place for this question,(I just joined.) I am a moderator on a betta fish website for about 2 or 3 months now, but the past 2 weeks I haven't been able to access the website.
[URL] I can get on the site at my friends house, I have tried using my dad's, and my brothers computer but I still can't get on it. I have Restarted Safari, and emptied the Cache. But still won't work.
A site that I visit regularly has recently started giving me an error whenever I try to access it. I can get there just fine using the latest Firefox. I've tried emptying the cache and resetting Safari to no avail.
www.directv.com Tried it with four different Macs, using different OSes, even used Mozilla and iCab. The main page displays. But clicking a link, zero response. Nothing happens. Can't navigate. Didn't have this problem a couple of years ago. I'd love to leave feedback for DirecTV but, as I say, can't even do that. Anything? These guys charge $$ for phone orders, and tell you to just go online. I'm using 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon Mac, 4 GB RAM, OS10.5.8. (But same problem with my laptops, other OSes and non-Safari browsers.
After the Safari 5.1.4 update, I'm unable to access one particular site, the one that used to be my homepage. Trying to access it causes the browser and OS to freeze up for several minutes. Can't force quit or close. I'm able to access my other 'regular' sites.
i hava an older powerbook G4 running Mac OS 10.5.8. there is website [URL] which broadcast news and musics. the station is physically located in NY, and some unknown reasons, i am unable to get any radio SOUND from that site. The website works 100% well, without ANY problems whatsoever on ALL and ANY Windows based PC's, but NOT Mac.
A few months ago I was persuaded to set-up a "Linkedin" account which I did. To begin with it seemed to be working fine and I steadly started to build up my profile.
But in the past month, whenever I log in, the site just hangs. I either get a blank white page or the browser just never finishes downloading the page.
I've tried Safari 3, Safari 4 Beta, Firefox, Camino and Opera web browsers. I've also fired up Parallels desktop and tried accessing the site through Internet Explorer 7 and the PC versions of Chrome and Firefox. Again, I can't get beyond my Linkedin homepage before the site freezes on me.
I've tried accessing the site on my new iMac, and eMac and iBook on the same network.
I'm using an Airport Extreme base station (UFO type) which is configured to use Open DNS.
I do not have this problem with any other websites and I've done all the basic stuff like deleting cookies, resetting Safari, fixing disk permissions etc. to no avail. Other people I've spoken to (other Mac users) don't seem to have the same problem I do.
Under normal circumstance I would have contacted Linkedin to request technical support, but alas, the contact page wont load!
I am unable to access a website on my macbook (which I used to be able to access) that I am able to access using my iPad and IPhone. I have cleared my history, caches, and everything else I can find. I upgraded to OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 and Safari 8 thinking this would possible solve the problem, but I am having the same issue.Â
The ClamXav scan found 4 virus/trojan problems and quarantined them. Before I did thid, my keychain keeps popping up asking me if I want to save my password everytime I visit the same web site(s).

SInce i installed Lion whenever I try to capture a pic from websites, nothing happens? Can someone explain what and how I can go back to take pic off website?
I have registered a domain (Let us say MyDomain.Com) with some web hosting registrar. I feel, my domain registrar is asking for huge money for hosting my website and giving email IDs and content holding. Can I make my MacBook Pro as a server for my webpage? Can I configure a mailserver so that Apple Mail App is my default mail client and I can create email IDs like [URL]
Just upgraded a Snow Leopard Server to Lion Server 10.7.3 and the Web Service works along with all of my virtual hosts BUT the default site that shows isn't the one that Server.app says should show, its the first virtual host that shows.
I've tried adding "ServerName myserver.mydomain.com" params into the 0000_any_80_.conf which hasn't worked. Anyone know a workaround for this? Can't use the Wiki or Webmail without it.
I cannot connect to a website that I have been using happily for months. The connect request times out. I don't know what to do. The website owner says there is no problem
I have problem assessing my bank website which requires Java 1.3.1 and above. I have already use software update to update my system but still the message "applet not properly loaded ...." keep appearing.
In parental controls I have blacklisted a website (m.bing.com), but it is never blocked. I wonder if Parental Controls is trying to block [URL] how to get parental controls to actually block that site?
Just bought my first macbook last night, and after trying for hours I have still been unable to download any new widgets for my dashboard. I click on the utility in the dashboard to get more widgets, which redirects me to the apple website. After I find one I like, and click down [URL]
Is there anyway to change the listening port for the default website without messing up the server app?? I have a program that need to run on port 80 for ease of use, however lion listens on all ports because of the default website. Â
I have a macbook pro and I have the OS X lion installed with all the latest updates to Safari etc. Lately my browsers have been acting up. Â
While I can access a lot of websites on my Safari there are other sites which do not load and I get the spinning beach ball before Safari crashes. My Safari also seems to take longer to load. Â
I have the latest Firefox 12 installed. When that starts up on the home page it crashes straight away after the obligatory spinning beach ball. I tried to trouble shoot Firefox but it wouldn't even open in safe mode before it crashed. Â
I also have Opera which doesn't even start up. So I uninstalled and upgraded to Opera Next. It doesn't even start up! Â
I have checked for plug in issues. I have up to date adobe flash player and java - unless there is some issue there. I also checked my DNS and it seemed clean of trojans. But I could or may have overlooked something. Â
I did use 'onyx' to clean my files but the trouble began before I used it. So now I am at a loss to understand why I am having problems with my browsers. Â
I'm not very technical but I have done my best to follow various threads around here to dismiss obvious causes. Â

I have a Mac Mini running Lion Server. We are going to use it for software update, profile manage , vpn, ect. When I'm not on the LAN I can load the [url]... however when I'm on our LAN I'm unable to load this site. I can start load the site from the LAN by putting,[url]..., but the page then redirects to [url]...auth?redirect=[url]... and will not load because of the domain name. This problem is also causing me to not be able to push profiles to machines while they are conected to the LAN.
My goal is to be able to load the site from anywhere as [url]...
In grad school renting a furnished apt for the summer, and trying to hook up HP printer (4215) to my Macbook that runs Lion. I've noticed on the discussions there are weird things that go on with HP and Lion, so I followed the advice of another discussion and downloaded the software/drivers noted for HP from the Apple website (software update did not detect). Â
Now, when I go into system preferences to add the printer, the printer shows up to be added, but forces me to click "add" to add and download the software - which I don't need, having already downloaded it. As other people have mentioned, this results in an error "this software is not currently available?
Is there something stupid I'm missing? It's a USB connection, printer is recognized by the computer, but the automatic software won't download and I'm not sure what to do with the software I DID download to get it to be recognized. Â
