OS X V10.7 Lion :: Assessing Bank Website Which Requires Java 1.3.1 And Above?
Feb 27, 2012
I have problem assessing my bank website which requires Java 1.3.1 and above. I have already use software update to update my system but still the message "applet not properly loaded ...." keep appearing.
I am not able to download from my bank website or other websites that my children send me with videos on them of the family. I get the same error on both these applications that I can not change the content of the folder and therefore unable to open the file or download the file. What do I need to do to change this?
I am trying to upload photos to an outside vender and it requires JAVA (which I must not have the latest version of because the site directed me to install it). I am using Mac OS X version10.5.8. If I choose About Java Preferences it says I have Java 6 Standard Edition version 12.9.0. How to find the correct update.
I need to complete forms on a website that requires adobe reader, when I go to the website it prompts me to download adobe reader & then click here to complete forms. I have downloaded adobe reader 3 times & restarted my computer twice & the website still keeps telling me I need to download adobe reader!Â
I am trying to work in an image based website. The message I recieve when I try to get into the site: This image flow resource requires one of the following miminum browser versions: Internet explorer 6.0. The browser you are currently using is Apple-Mac Safari Version 5.0.
I am unable to access a medical website I go to for diabetes monitoring. I have had this problem before. When I access the site the java icon displays and is cycling, then times out. I checked for Macbook updates last evening and installed updates. I searched for Java for Mac 10.6 and installed that. Tonight I figured out how to clear my java cache. Still cannot access the site. I've spent probably 6 hours trying to figure this out - no luck. I had exact same issue in November and was able to fix it by reinstalling Java.
What has been released to install as a security update? I seem to be clicking on one web link which takes me to another and nothing to actually install. Typical Apple. Really wish I hadn't bought this MacCrap Air - I do miss my PC.
I am running OS 10.5.8 on an iMac. There is no security update issued for this operating system - it only covers 10.6. Is my comuter vulnerable? Do I need to do anything?
I was running java 1.6.0_33 on my Mac Lion and later I installed java 1.7.0_05. Now in my Java preferences I see both the Java SE available. Now my problem is when I enable Java 7(& select Enable applet plug-in and Web start applications), my JNLP file doesn't run with java web start, from Safari as well as Firefox. When I try running the jnlp using Open With option and selecting Java Web Start present in /System/Library/CoreServices, nothing happens.Â
When I try running the JNLP file from Terminal suing command /System/Library/CoreServices/Java Web Start.app/Contents/MacOS/Java Web Start xyz.jnlp I get following errorÂ
Java Web Start splash screen process exiting... Can not find message file : No such file or directory.Â
Since the flurry of 2012 updates, Java is completely broken on my Mac Pro. Java dependent apps don't start and Apple Support says to enable the apps in Java Preferences. Nice idea, but Java Preferences WILL NOT LAUNCH either. There were plenty of tools to address flashback and they DID NOT break normal day to day operations.I downloaded the package from support to try a re-installation, but it says "A newer version of Java is already installed" and offers me the option to Close. No reinstall, nothing. Apple support is at it's usual level of service on this issue, completely INVISIBLE.Â
I work for production company that uses iTunes to manage our Production Music Library. We allow iTunes to keep the media folder organized and we have iTunes copy new files to the media folder.Â
In Music Libraries 1 song can have numerous edits. And this is where the problem lies for us. Below is an example, long and drawn out for everyone: Â
The Song Title is "Send me over the edge" There is 1 full length (3:32) There is 1 full length instrumental (3:32) There are four 30 second edits (:30) :30 w/ vocals :30 instrumental :30 no percussion :30 no stringsÂ
*All information regarding edit specifics is commonly found in the comments field of the metadata*Â
Now, when I go to import all 6 songs into iTunes, iTunes is only importing 2 songs. Â
I believe that iTunes is analyzing these files and seeing that they have the same name and length and is thus assuming they are duplicate files. I have tried to rename them on the finder level, but that doesn't seem to work. Which leads me to believe that iTunes is looking to the Metadata, which (to my knowledge) I can not change without a third party program. I have also tried dragging them in one track at a time, and that does not work either.Â
I am dealing with importing over 500 songs that all have multiple versions like I just described. Is there an option in iTunes that will allow me to override iTunes and decide which tracks are duplicates? or any way to get all my songs into my iTunes Library?Â
Opening bank data files, while logged into the bank or brokerage sites, by clicking on the PDF or file name icon, is supposed to open in PDF format but instead opens only a single page in Quicktime. This also happened several years ago in Leopard and required the removal of Quicktimeplugin.plugin. I have tried doing that in Lion with no success.
I get this error on all my computers when I try to download Lion. Mac OS X 10.7 requires at least 2 GB of memory.... But my systems show more than enough free space.
I'm thinking of upgrading to 10.7 from 10.6.8 on my iMac, but on this site I get:Step 2: Make sure you have the latest version of Snow Leopard.Get up to date with the latest version of OS X Snow Leopard to purchase OS X Lion from the Mac App Store. If you have Snow Leopard, click the Apple icon and choose Software Update to install Snow Leopard v10.6.8, the latest version. What is Snow Leopard? Do I have it? I already have 10.6.8, but that's a Lion version, right?
I was looking through the posts on here and the only solution I could find was to reinstall Lion, so I did, but it still doesn't work. Everytime I plug the mic in it says, "USB device requires too much power." I just bought the mic. I tried calling the Blue mic costumer service but no one answers.
I was just browsing the Internet as usual, and suddenly my Mac popped up a dialog box with the message "Software Update wants to make changes", asking me for an administrator's password. I checked in the Dock and Software Update was NOT running!Â
I clicked Cancel on the box and it popped up again 2-3 times before finally going away. Can Software Update run in the background without any user intervention now? Could it be some kind of new Mac malware?
My iMac is suddenly running slow, especially Safari and the finder is asking for the administrator password to delete some random files. I just repaired permissions so it can't be that. The iPad is fine with download speeds of 15+ Mbps vs 2 Mbps for the iMac.
After entering sudo command, terminal asks for password. After that it will not accept typing in password, I type and nothing appears. If I try to paste in password nothing happens.
I have this problem on my new MBA (2012) and mac mini (2011), both running the latest update of LION (10.7.4). Basically, if I am using preview, it shows up on my dock no problem and I can close windows/hide/quite no problem. Usually a while later, a copy of Preview ends up showing up in my FORCE QUIT menu (if I happen to be there), but is not visibly open. (see pic).
Odd that it occurs on both. Only things that are non-apple installed on MBA (and mirror with MM) are:
I made a Java applet with Xcode 3.2Â and i load it to firefox or Safari(Yeah i've updated my java)and for exampleÂ
i made a HELLO WORLD simple applet to be in black color letters, then compiled and yeah it worked but then i redid it for the letters to be red.. and they kept being black..no matter how many times i recompiled the applet.Â
And yeah the HTML is pointing to the correct class file. Also, If if i add a Thread and implement runnable.. then nothing shows up in the canvas.Â
And also, what ever happened with the appletviewer application? We don't have that anymore.
now the only way to run applets is through a web browser. Â Is java applet developement in 10.6 really over?
I am brand new to Mac (I got a G4 laptop in trade to replace a dead windows desktop).I am trying to install Limewire and it tells me that I cannot: "could not launch application because it requires a version of Java that is not installed". It goes on to acknowledge that it can see everything up to 1.5...but that I need 1.6.
So, I go to Software Update and make sure that I have 1.6. It tells me that there are no new updates, that my computer is up to date.I think I recall being told that I am running Leopard on this laptop. If java 1.6 is available, and I do not have it, and my computer tells me that there are no new updates that my computer needs and will not automatically grab java 1.6, yet I need it to install anapplication....what are my options?
how can i force a program to use java 6 instead of java 7?im trying to use tekkit (minecraft mod) and i need java 7 for the sever but java 6 for the lancher?how i could force the lancher into using java 6?
Is there way to tell which apps use Java, similiar to checking System Information? With the fury about the Flashback Trojan, I would like to turn off Java. Unfortunately, my password safe app uses Java. I would like to see how many apps I might have to replace to be Java-free.
