Recently I've been unable to get past the 'maintenance page' of a specific website in order to logon. I've been able to use it without any problems using my macbook pro previously, but now I can't figure out what has changed. I can logon from other computers but its just mine that's not working anymore.

i hava an older powerbook G4 running Mac OS 10.5.8. there is website [URL] which broadcast news and musics. the station is physically located in NY, and some unknown reasons, i am unable to get any radio SOUND from that site. The website works 100% well, without ANY problems whatsoever on ALL and ANY Windows based PC's, but NOT Mac.

I am using lion, and using safari as my web browser. I've tried chrome and firefox, still no luck. I can access the site through my iPhone and iPad but not my iMac.

I can't connect to a certain web site -[URL] I am running 10.6.4, and all my browsers - Safari, Firefox, Chrome - don't open that site. I get the same connection error that I would get when I enter something in the address bar that does not exist.
Funny thing is: I can connect to Zenfolio from my iPod touch on the same router. So it should be a problem with my computer - but what could be wrong? No entries in "Proxies", and the hosts file looks innocent as well...
I'm using OSX 10.5.8 and I can't upload any files to specific website ( I've tried all the browsers: Safary, Chrome, FF) I know the site is OK, because when I tried to upload from other user on my mac or from other computers it's working just fine.

I discovered a bit of an oddity yesterday.
I did a search on Google for a message board for an NFL team (Baltimore Ravens). The top link on Google was the message board on the official team site. When I clicked on the link, it redirected me to some random shady site. When I tried again, I got through fine. But I then reset Safari (deleting the cookies), tried it again, and the same thing happened. Yahoo provided the same issue.
I do not download anything except for Software Updates (I know about the trojans posing as codecs and pirated software, and have not downloaded anything of the such).
Out of curiosity, I tried Googling the website on a PC with Firefox, and had no problem. I downloaded Safari to that same PC, and the same thing occurred, so this clearly is a browser specific problem. Also of note is that on the PC, the AV detected a trojan about 5 minutes later.
I tried disabling Java, and the Google link wouldn't open the webpage the first time, but I did not get redirected. Typing the address in directly provided no problems.
I am at a loss. Is my system secure? I keep up with all updates (I am currently on 10.5.8, though). Has my system been compromised at all?
I have a website that I need to open with Safari as it won't display properly in Firefox 3.6.3. From the Address Bar in Safari, I dragged a link to my desktop, right-clicked and checked it to always open with Safari. The name of the link is something like "PITA.webloc"
When it opens that first time, it dose open in Safari, but subsequently, always opens in FF. I also right-clicked to "Get Info" and indicated it to always open with Safari. While "Get Info" shows that correctly, it still always opens in FF.
I cannot connect to a website that I have been using happily for months. The connect request times out. I don't know what to do. The website owner says there is no problem

I have a page "Welcome" next to other pages ("About Me"...).
Since yesterday when I open iWeb and click on the "Welcome" name to select the page (to modify or just look at it), iWeb immediatelly quits. The same happens when I follow a link to "Welcome" from another page.
I can access all other pages with no problems.
I tried deleting iWeb's preferences file, restoring an older copy of my domain.site2 file, overwriting iWeb with another copy of iWeb (same version), nothing changed.
This concerns iWeb 3.0 (build 301) on Mac OS X 10.6.2 (Darwin 10.2).
In Safari whenever looking for a specific web site, other web sites on the background start to erupt and show up, which I never look for, which has become so annoying. I tried to change the Privacy settings, but all in vain.

When I'm not on the LAN I can load the [url]... however when I'm on our LAN I'm unable to load this site. I can start load the site from the LAN by putting,[url]..., but the page then redirects to [url]...auth?redirect=[url]... and will not load because of the domain name. This problem is also causing me to not be able to push profiles to machines while they are conected to the LAN.
My goal is to be able to load the site from anywhere as [url]...

Spotlight can't locate this file, I've ran disk utility to verify and repair the internal drive, verified the external, no problems on both counts. I even tried allowing read & write privileges temporarily to everyone on both drives, but no luck.

A site that I visit regularly has recently started giving me an error whenever I try to access it. I can get there just fine using the latest Firefox. I've tried emptying the cache and resetting Safari to no avail.

Tried it with four different Macs, using different OSes, even used Mozilla and iCab. The main page displays. But clicking a link, zero response. Nothing happens. Can't navigate. Didn't have this problem a couple of years ago. I'd love to leave feedback for DirecTV but, as I say, can't even do that. Anything? These guys charge $$ for phone orders, and tell you to just go online. I'm using 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon Mac, 4 GB RAM, OS10.5.8. After the Safari 5.1.4 update, I'm unable to access one particular site, the one that used to be my homepage. Trying to access it causes the browser and OS to freeze up for several minutes. Can't force quit or close. I'm able to access my other 'regular' sites.

At first (all of a sudden out of the blue) I could not enter Time Machine mode for love or money despite clicking on the enter time machine action botton, however I could run a 'backup now' at any point and this appeared to go through as well as the hourly automated ones. Then switching Off then back On Time Machine suddenly allowed me to enter Time Machine; however I am only able to access the finder windows for any local 'white tick' backups which in my case were only for the last several snapshot backups for today... but if I try and access any dates after this right back until November 2011 last year, nothing happens at all and the date/backup markers are completely unaccessible. Incidently, all of these previous 'purple tick' date markers (time machine backups/snapshots on external firewire 800 drive) were accessible before, but know they can't be accessed even though they corecctly index the appropriate dates right back until November.
I'ts worth pointing out that I've had many glitces and random problems since using a Thunderbolt Display which is where the external hard-drive containing the time machine backup is hooked up to. A seperate recent issue is constantly losing sound on the Thunderbolt Display which requires a reboot to get it back temporarily, but this is a seperate issue but may be related if the cause of a number of problems may be originating from the TD.
The external disk drive containing the time machine backup image, appears to be online ok as I'm able to access the drive in a normal manner. Has some kind of special links nature or association relasionship between the Time Machine program and the external drive and backup disk image contained on it been disrupted or broken? If this is the case, can they be re-linked or re-associated?

I have a USB disk attached to my Airport Extreme, and use it as the target of my time machine backups from my mac book pro (connected via WiFi). For the most part things work fine. But if my macbook goes to sleep, after it wakes up it often (not always) gets the next time machine backup to fail with a message saying that it cannot access the disk. At first I found a brutal method of correcting it: I would disconnect from WiFi, go to my AE and power cycle it. After it came back the macbook never had any problem with the disk. A little more exploration indicated that Lion wasn't unmounting the disk properly. The following works (but sometimes requires a few iterations): I'll go to finder, eject the disk, and disconnect from Airport Extreme, and then go to the terminal and do sudo diskutil unmountdisk disk1 (I first do a diskutil list to find out the right disk)Â
and then ask time machine to backup again. Many times I have to repeat this a few more times before it "takes". Has anyone else run into this? It clearly looks like a bug in Lion, since it never happened until I upgraded.Â
PS. I understand that Apple says that they don't support time machine backup to network disks. But they do to a time capsule! It isn't really different.

A few months ago I was persuaded to set-up a "Linkedin" account which I did. To begin with it seemed to be working fine and I steadly started to build up my profile.
But in the past month, whenever I log in, the site just hangs. I either get a blank white page or the browser just never finishes downloading the page.
I've tried Safari 3, Safari 4 Beta, Firefox, Camino and Opera web browsers. I've also fired up Parallels desktop and tried accessing the site through Internet Explorer 7 and the PC versions of Chrome and Firefox. Again, I can't get beyond my Linkedin homepage before the site freezes on me.
I've tried accessing the site on my new iMac, and eMac and iBook on the same network.
I'm using an Airport Extreme base station (UFO type) which is configured to use Open DNS.
I do not have this problem with any other websites and I've done all the basic stuff like deleting cookies, resetting Safari, fixing disk permissions etc. to no avail. Other people I've spoken to (other Mac users) don't seem to have the same problem I do.
Under normal circumstance I would have contacted Linkedin to request technical support, but alas, the contact page wont load!

On both Safari and Chrome browsers, I have been using a particular website - ([URL] .... - this is a website of an institute I have enrolled with and needs a user id to access it) - since a year.
Earlier, on my mac, it would open the links to pdf files as also links to videos uploaded on their site.
However, since the past couple of months, I have not been able to access any of those. Whenever I click, there is absolutely no response from the website. It remains static. Although I am able to navigate through the various pages, but am not able to open anything at all.
