Today I tried to install the two updates that apple had in store for me:IPhoto Thunderbolt The installer asked me to reboot and I said yes.After a while, the installer said:None of the updates could be installed.I pressed the only button: restart After staring at the canvas background for over 5 minutes, I hard-rebooted the iMac. I am trying to update my MacMini from 10.7.3 to 10.7.4 and I am not able to. The user account I am trying to do it from is an admin account. I currently have 4 other updates and I am not able to install any of them and they are listed below.
Airport utility 6.1
Digitial Camera Raw Compatability update 3.13
iTunes 10.6.3
Java for OS X 2012-004 1.0
Here is a copy and paste from my Console install.log only trying to install the Airport Utility and Digital Camera Raw updates. All others were doing the same as these.

I have a MacBook with OS X 10.5 and I was looking at some of the updates I had installed and wanted to delete some that were irrelevant and that I shouldn't have installed in the first place. Somehow I deleted everything in the "Installed Updates" list, I know they are still on the computer because when I check for updates nothing new shows up. Is there any way to repopulate this list with the updates I have installed and is there anyway to remove the ones that I downloaded too hastily or should I just carry on since it is not a major issue? Of course I did not have Time Machine up and running yet.

my Mac has recently been playing up. The other day I turned it on to find just a white screen so I rebooted it though safe mode. Since then i have not been able to conduct sofware updates / save microsoft office files / install any programmes. When I try to conduct software updates I get the following - 'None of the selected updates could be saved. You don’t have permission.'I have checked my permissions and they all look fine.
When I try to open or safe a word file i get - 'Word could not create the work file. check the amount of disk space on your startup disk' I have 19.87 GB available on my HD. When i try to install a programme such as ViursBarrierX6 I get this - ' The Installation failed' 'The installer can't creat the folder "/var/folder/qg/11kx8p703n9cx4zpp27vhm0000gn/T/intsall.12034Cd49UU". '

I installed the software updates pushed to me the week of May 7, 2012 (installed them May 12th) and now cannot open certain web pages (examples www.cnn.com and www.ancestry.com) but am able to open others (ex. www.harrynorman.com). I installed an update to safari, one for security and another I cannot recall. Rebooted (twice) and still having the same problem. I have a Macbook running Mac OS X 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1.7.

My computer keeps notifying me that updates available when they've already been installed and are listed as installed.
The Command Line Tools, for instance, are listed as installed a half dozen times or so, yet it's cosnattly being offered as an available update. The list of updates available for the computer keeps growing, but they're all installed. Update All or Update will run and go through the process, but the list never clears.
How do I get Updates to work properly and recognize what updates are already installed?

When I install an update via Software Update, the installation appears in System Preferences/Software Update/Installed Updates, but then permanently disappears after a period of time. Same issue in Software Update.log.Is this normal?

When I open my laptop occasionally it has obviously recognized updates and gives me the option to install, I click yes or ok can't remember. When I do it asks me to restart, which I do.When I restart it appears as if it never installed the updates?? When I go to system preferences and check to see installed updates it does not appear to be there?

For whatever reason, when I installed Snow Leopard it did not automatically install the updates for the printer drivers already installed in my computer.
I then tried to manually install the printer drivers using the SL disk and still no luck. The printers that I use are both wireless and work when they are connected with USB. Am I missing something? I'm reading all over about how people have made the upgrade with no problems at all so I'm there's got to be something I'm not doing.

When I check for software updates only itunes and random other updates show up but not security updates or safari update. When i check installed updates I realized my last security update was 2011-004 and I still have safari 5.0.6.

On my MacBookPro, 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo, 1.5 GB RAM, Mac OS X 10.4.11, all rosetta emulated applications as Apple Works 6, Toast 6, Microsoft Office 2004, PhotoshopElements 3 and so on, suddenly have stopped working. A short flash of the program symbols ist all I get when I try starting one of them. Everything has been fine for the last three years!Before that, I noticed that I could not install the Security Update 2008-007 Intel, no matter if by software update or manually (for the download version I get only an error notice that the checksum failed, when I try to activate the .dmg). Other Apple software updates were installed without any problems.

So a while back I had final cut pro installed, and eventually deleted cause I no longer needed it. I used AppCleaner when removing to try and make sure I got it all.
Well every time I do a software update it wants to install "Pro Applications Update" and "Prokit Updates" Which are updates for final cut pro and its related apps.
Any idea how I can stop it from wanting me to install these updates for something I no longer have?

I updated to 10.7.3 and now if I try to install a .dmg file, it mounts but when I select the pkg file, it opens up the a terminal window and does nothing.
FYI, I have tried numerous .dmg files from various vendors w/ the same issue.

I receive message that "None of the selected updates could be installed. An unexpected error occurred." after the mac software update has downloaded the updates. I've run a permissions repair and trashed the updates in the library.

Minutes after receiving the Apple Security Update in my email, I quickly ran the system wide Apple Software Update (OS X Lion 10.7.4, Macbook Pro8,2). With the iTunes update came two other updates. The first update was for iPhoto '11. The second update was for the Thunderbolt to support Gigabit Ethernet. To the best of my knowledge, all went well with downloading. It was a hefty update, the iPhoto '11 update alone being 599.65 MB. After installation, a dialog appeared allowing the user to "Restart now" or later. A firm believer in immediately restarting the computer when it tells me to, I did so. Once the desktop faded, my mac began installing my updates as the updates could not have been installed while core system services were running. In about 10 minutes, the progress bar had reached the end, but a peculiar dialog appeared. It said that the updates that I wanted installed, were not installed. I pressed the only button on the dialog which removed the dialog box and left me with the empty wallpaper of the same texture as the iOS 5 Notification Center, the same wallpaper used during Mac Recovery during bootup. After another 10 minutes, nothing had changed; I was still staring at this lovely wallpaper. Knowing things had gone sour, I held down the power button for a few seconds until it turned off. After turning the computer back on, and booting into Mac OS X, I was, and still am, faced with a few lines of text.
Now I am unable to boot into Mac OS X.There is no recovery partition (as I'm triple booting, which apparently mac doesn't like), but I have booted into a Recovery-ish mode using the Lion Internet Recovery. I have verified the disk: no problems found, a good solid green line saying everything's ok. I went ahead and clicked on repair, to which it did not report fixing anything. I am currently booted into my Windows 7 (also noted my Windows is running incredibly slow, possibly just a placebo effect of me losing my Mac OS X) in which I am typing this. I have my Mac OS X backed up via Time Machine from earlier this morning but I would still like to not have to wipe hard-drive, install Snow Leopard upgrade to Lion, install Windows 7, install linux, and then restore respective operating system's data. Is there ANY possible way I can make my Mac OS X bootable again? Or even re-installing Snow Leopard/Lion without touching the partitions behind it?

I am trying to install the new updates for Aperture and iPhoto. When I tell software updates to check for updates, it tells me all my software is current. I know there is a new version of Aperture and iPhoto because I installed them two days ago on a different computer.

It has been almost one month since my MBP (mid 2010) getting a strange issue, that the Software Update always say NO UPDATES, even if there are many updates available. I guess this began since I updated my MBP to Mac OSX Lion Update 1.7.3 (Client Combo). FYI, the App Store can run (download new app or updates) without problem, and I can browse or send/receive mails without problem.

I'm running final cut pro X version 10.0 and I would like to update to 10.0.4 but the app store shows "all apps are up to date" Anyone encounter this before? When I run FCPX and go to about it clearly shows I'm runing 10.0. I've checked for software updates and that has not found the update either. This link says I can download it from the app store. When i launch the app store it says "Install" and when i click that it says, i've already purchased final cut 10 and cannot instal it? I just want the update?

I have several apps that I need updating. Unfortunately when I try to update them, I get the spinng wheel (Mac Appt Store menu bar) spinning forever! I tried changing my Apple password, tried the Certificate Revocation List to off, I deleted the apps and tried downloading them again and I still get the gray spinning wheel

When OS X 10.7.3 came out I tried to install it and it got to "Moving files in place" at 95 or 99 % of completion and hadn't completed 9 hours later. I forced the system to shutdown and restored through Time Machine, but wasted a lot of time working on this. Consequently I declined all further requests to update to 10.7.3. Today I was prompted to upgrade to 10.7.4, this was probably the third or fourth time I'd been prompted, so I accepted it and started the install. At 95% while "Moving files in place" again the upgrade hung and after giving it a couple of hours with further progress I again forced a shutdown and ran disk utility to repair the disk, just in case there was a problem with it, and then again restored it with Time Machine.

Anybody have the 12WX working correctly with lion with no previous wacom installed? hooked it up right away with no problems on a leopard mac pro. had working windows xp on virtual machine no problems.with imac lion, would not run the install drivers from disk (PPC). so installed the latest 6.2 driver and a bamboo intuos 3 driver as recomended by wacom. installed driver for pen. the bamboo driver worked for a day or so ( with no option keys working), but had 4 point calibration unlike the two point from leopard install.now, neither are recognizing a tablet connection, only works as monitor. uninstalled. tried an older driver 6.15. ran fix disk permissions, reset pram. restarted(+++). dis and re connected. reinstalled again and again. still no luck getting it running on a new mid 2011 imac with lion.

Our software update service is not downloading the 10.7.3 updates. I have updated the server to 10.7.3 but it made no difference. I have start/stopped the service a few times - it as downloaded a load of multilingual voices post date 7th Feb 2012 and the Security updates for Snow Leopard post date 2//2/2012 just not the 10.7.3 updates. Do Apple put a delay in the server to try to spread the demand on bandwidth?
Clients are updating fine from the server all other services working normally.
