OS X V10.7 Lion :: Move Pictures From IPhoto To A SanDisk Memory Card?
May 2, 2012I'm trying to move pics from iPhoto to a SanDisk Memory Card. I've dragged them from iPhoto to the "open" card, and they're listed as such, but when the card is placed in my camera, or a digital frame, it says "no images".

Jun 14, 2010I have a number of files with -rwxrwxrwx@ file permissions (note the @ at the end - this comes from an ls -l command in terminal). They are photos on an external drive. When I try to copy them to a new drive I am advised that I do not have permission to copy them (despite rwxrwxrwx).
This is confusing and also very hard to search for (@ not liked at all). Can anyone tell me what the deal is? I have a suspicion it may relate to the photos being imported iPhoto at some time but that I cannot confirm. I can copy them to a windows machine and then to the final destination but all the last modified dates get changed (not a desirable outcome).

Also there is no option in iTunes to sync photos to iCloud!

Jun 6, 2012Recently, despite careful file management my internal hard drive has reached its capacity so I purchased a 2TB WD My Book to move many of my files to to make room. After reformatting it (Mac OS Extended Journaling) starting copying stuff over but I struck a problem when I tried copying my iphoto library file over. Its about 47gig and every time i try it begins to copy but then it suddenly stops around 600mb saying it cant read or write something in the file. Is the file too big? Do I need to format the drive it differently? Hopefully not as I've already moved a heap of files over.

Aug 21, 2010I was one vacation for 6 weeks and I was the only one that had a computer so we put all pictures on it. Long story short. When my dad tried attaching his external drive IPhoto wouldn't let him copy the pictures and Os X didn't read the flash drive he gave me to try. Another piece of information that might help is, that my laptop is the only Mac in my family, everything else is windows.

Mar 7, 2009when I start to import my photos in to iPhoto it says there isn't enough space for it. I know that every picture I import in to iPhoto makes a copy for iPhoto, so...is there an easy way to delete photos I don't need anymore from iPhoto and from my hard drive in order to clear up space? So, my question is, where did those pictures go? I'm hoping that they are stored in some folder somewhere (which I have been unable to find) and that they are NOT just part of the monstrous "iPhoto Library" file in the Photos folder where I can't actually get at them.

When I select all, then export so that I can read them on a pc or at a photo store, All of the pics are stuck in one directory. The album names are lost. I normally back up all of my year's photos to dvds, but to use them, iPhoto will be required in the future. I became concerned that if iPhoto isn't prevalent in 25 years when my grandchildren look at the photos, what will they do? So, what's the best way to keep my naming structure in place so that I can export to JPG's?

I have a large collection of photos in the iPhoto program in My Account and I would like the Kids account to be able to see the photos.
