Everytime I open mail (v.5.2) on my Mac (OSX 10.7.3) I am prompted that the "iCloud has rejected the password for p01-imap.mail.me.com." The incoming mail server is set at p01-imap.mail.me.com....and I can't change it, it's greyed out in Preferences - Account Information. Further, each time I put in the password, I click "remember in my keychain" and, well, it doesn't because I have to re-enter it every day.

I am losing random incoming emails in my .mac email address. I first discovered it last week when my wife was getting emails that I was copied on that I never got. Checked inbox, trash, junk, iCloud and never could find them. Then today, just by chance, I had to verify a link via that email address. When the verification is sent, I see it hit the inbox with the new email counter and then it immediately disappears. I have disabled all my Apple Mail rules and Smart Mailboxes. As I mentioned, I have checked everywhere I could think of that it might be going.

My "smart" mailbox is showing messages from the "All Mail" folder of my IMAP account folder in addition to my Inbox. Is there a way to work around or stop this so I don't see duplicate messages in my smart mailbox?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have just discovered that my IMAP email account is not saving any of my outgoing SENT emails on the server ! I have checked the settings and the option to store on the server is ticked.
I spoke to my ISP guy just now and he confirmed that there is nothing in the sent folder despite the fact that I sent three important emails today.
He suggested I 'untick' the option and save sent emails on my local iMac - and I did - and it works.....
But what is the point of an IMAP account ?? I need to work at two locations and synch the accounts ...
I found mention of this elsewhere on Google... but cannot see any fix.
(I have all updates downloaded and installed on the iMac as of this afternoon)
Up till now, all the family have been using just one user account on our iMac. (OK, I now know that's not a good idea!) I'm now going to be working from home so have set up a new user as Work. I've been using an IMAP mail service in Mail on the family user account and I've now set it up on the work account. If I delete the IMAP account from Mail in the family user account, will this delete my mail off the IMAP server so I cannot access it on the wrok user account?

I am getting a recurring probleme with my Mail app: "The IMAP server “imap.gmail.com” rejected the password for user “myaddress@gmail.com”. I cannot send or receive email through Mail.
What seems odd to me is that I can sign into the web version of gmail and see current email, but email received or sent is no longer happy in Mail. I have been using my gmail, set up as an IMAP account in Mail for months now.
Needless to say I've checked, rechecked, and made sure my password and username are both correct.

I upgraded to Snow Leopard (might only actually be since 10.6.1) my Gmail account set up as IMAP in mail.app keeps going offline with the following error message: quote: There may be a problem with the mail server or network. View 7 Replies View RelatedSince updating to Snow Leopard 10.6.1 Mail.app has been unable to retieve IMAP mail from my OS X Leopard 10.5.x server running the standard cyrusd. Does anybody have any clues? Mail just sits there syncing the mailbox forever, it never stops. If I turn on logging to file, it just continuously FETCHes from IMAP and never ends. It's driving me mad. My iphone can get the IMAP mail from the same server absolutely fine. I added the mail account to a new OS X Snow Leopard user account, and that also failed to get anywhere. So its not corrupted data on my MBP. It doesn't appear to be corrupted data on the OS X server either, as the iPhone works.

It seems that re-entering the password in the account settings window makes it work for a while, until the next operation starts, then it times out again. Anyone having these problems?

View 8 Replies View RelatedEver since upgrading to Snow Leopard and using Apple Mail, I have been getting the following error after a day or so of use: "Account exceeded bandwidth limits." Eventually I am able to access GMail via IMAP with Apple Mail, but only for about a day before this error occurs again. This doesn't affect my access to GMail via the web interface. Nothing has changed with my use of GMail since before the Snow Leopard upgrade and I've seen scattered reports of this on the 'net, but nothing that nails down a solid connection between the Snow Leopard upgrade and this error.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI am converting from a Windows system to a Mac. The mail client on the Windows box is Outlook 2003. The mail on the windows box had been previously stored in a number of PST files using POP3. The recommended procedure to convert to the Mac is to first in Outlook 2003 convert from POP3 to IMAP. While in the middle of this procedure I got a message that the PST file that Outlook 2003 creates for the local IMAP store is full. Further, it is 97-2002 format file rather than the new type used as the default in Outlook 2003. In any case, I need to get the rest of the mail converted. Another issue is that viewing specific folders in the IMAP store on the Windows box results in an initial display of items, followed by the window being cleared, and the folder size function showing that the folder is empty. However, attaching to the IMAP store on the server from the Mac Mail program still shows the contents, so I think this is an anomaly of the poor implementation of IMAP in Outlook 2003. What do I need to do to get the rest of the POP3 mail into IMAP?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just moved to Snow Leopard and have found that my main Mail IMAP account is now locking the server mailbox. This means I can't access the mailbox via Pop from any other machine (such as at home) and the webmail interface will only let me read but not delete mails.
I've checked via Mail Preferences that the account is set to Manual Updates (as was its predecessor, when it worked). I assume this setting is just not working as I can see the account is still reading mail automatically.
I thought of deleting the account and setting it up again but worry that the warning message about losing all mail associated with this account would mean all my local folders would be zapped. So my temporary fix is to deactivate the account and set up a POP version instead.
I am an educator and my school system "upgraded" their Exchange Server and subsequently put Outlook on my computer. I configured Mail to pop over from Outlook, but now, I can't delete an email sent to my school email account without opening up Outlook and deleting it....it just keeps reappearing in my inbox. The problem is not the same on my iPhone or iPad, just on my MacBook Pro. So, I go for several days while the emails pile up, then open up Outlook and delete them one by one when I can't stand it anymore. Also, when Outlook is open, my computer runs at about 1/2 speed...everything slows and bogs down. Can I just delete Outlook from my computer?
