I am getting a new iphone for my wife and am unsure whether to create a second icloud account or stay with one. I know that we can use the same iTunes ID for apps and music, so no issues there. But I also want our phone calendars to sync with our Mac (already connected to my phone via icloud). My preference is to have two icloud accounts with linked calendars so we can each have 5gb of free storage. Is that doable with shared calendars on the phones and the Mac?
If we must be on the same account, how to separate out our mail and contacts? We are not using the @me account for mail, so my guess is if we use a separate email account in respective phones, our mail won't get mixed up. Is that correct? We already have multiple groups in our address books. Can we select multiple groups to sync one phone and others to the others? Also, can we access shared notes?

My calendars on the iPhone did not syncronize with iCloud for other devices (iPad, Mac). So I tried to sync iPhone Calendars with iTunes where I got a warning of duplicate entries. After the sync my Mac calendars all were gone, on the iPhone, on the Mac. Only the Calendars on iCloud, which are not up to date (!!!) are still available. I tried to restore via TimeMachine but could not find the database for iCal. Everything seems to have changed in OX Lion.

Is it possible to import ICal and my address book from icloud to my macbook pro which runs with Snow Leopard?

Mountain Lion won't run on my Intel-graphics dual core white MacBook. Lion should run, but I've been disappointed with Lion and it is now end-of-life (mercifully short). So I've a perfectly fine and responsive Snow Leopard machine. Only problem -- when MobileMe dies in June Address Book on that device won't sync with our iPhone [1].
I know Apple doesn't allow 3rd parties to sync anything to iCloud. So there's no solution that way. One approach is to use a 3rd party app to sync Address Book on this machine with Address Book on another machine that in turn syncs with iCloud.
The easier approach is to go all Google; sync Address Book to Google, set the iPhone to use a Google Apps account. (Ironic that Apple's obsoleting a solid MacBook should drive us to Google.) [1] For various reasons the iPhone syncs to another machine with our family app/media library. So I can't sync Address Book via iTunes.

I have OS 10.7 (latest version) installed on a MacBook Pro, and iOS5 on my iPhone. I recently migrated to iCloud from MobileMe. However, my company still uses OS 10.6.8.
How can I get my Address Book on my work Mac, running OS 10.6.8 to sync with my iCloud account?
How do I set up the iCloud account in my address book? Where is the Contacts server?
And please don't tell me to upgrade to 10.7. That's not an option.

Are there ways to go around it? Like in iCal you can configure the server to p06-caldav.icloud.com.

Situation: There are all contacts in iCloud. iPhone synces without issue and has all contacts in adress book. On Mac many contacts are missing. Tested solutions on Mac: Turned iCloud account off and on - no result, no change, iCloud still synces only some contacts, Turned iCloud adress book syncing on (while deleting all contacts on Mac) - no result, no change, iCloud still synces only some contacts, Deleting user/Library/applicationsupport/adress book - adress book synced more contacts (and different ones) then before, but still not all. Maybe around 1/2 contacts from iCloud.

If won't sync the contacts from the iPhone to either the Address Book in the iMac (late 2009 model) nor the one in iCloud. I've reported this at the iPhone Feedback page as a bug but I could be doing something wrong.

I have an iMac, Air and iPhone 4S, all up-to-date. I did my iCloud migration a few weeks ago. Everything seemed to work; I especially tested Calendar and verified that an event created on each device would appear on/disappear from the others. However, over the past few days I have realized that iCloud sync of Contacts/AddressBook is only working on the iPhone. Cards that I have created on the iMac and Air do not appear on the phone, but cards that I create on the iPhone do appear on the others.
After readng some similar questions here, I checkef SysPrefs on the Air, discovered MobileMe was still the default for AddressBook, changed it (in two places) to iCloud... and now have a complete set of duplicate entries in the Air, but still no sync up to iCloud. (I created new cards to check, and also checked iCloud.com to make sure the data is there. It is, no dupes — but also none of the cards I created on the Air before or after changing the default.)

I've been syncing a number of calendars from my Mobileme account and sharing them on numerous devices and with a number of associates and family. And I'm still using OS10.6, haven't moved to Lion yet, so I can't use iCloud. Do I have to give up on sharing my iCal calendars? I don't really like using google calendars to share, but that's the only alternative i can figure out.
