I made a Java applet with Xcode 3.2Â and i load it to firefox or Safari(Yeah i've updated my java)and for exampleÂ
i made a HELLO WORLD simple applet to be in black color letters, then compiled and yeah it worked but then i redid it for the letters to be red.. and they kept being black..no matter how many times i recompiled the applet.Â
And yeah the HTML is pointing to the correct class file. Also, If if i add a Thread and implement runnable.. then nothing shows up in the canvas.Â
And also, what ever happened with the appletviewer application? We don't have that anymore.
now the only way to run applets is through a web browser. Â Is java applet developement in 10.6 really over?

I am having problem with post processing a simulation. Every time I hit the "plot parameter" button within the software I get the same error. Opening the file on a windows machine works perfectly fine, therefore I have tried updating the Java through "Software update" and still no luck. Â
Here are the error details:Â

I downloaded this from the site and installed it. I cant find it as an app to run it.
Is it an app I need to run, or is it installed and runs in the background? If thats the case how do i find it in the activity monitor to make sure its running?
I have taken over the management of some Mac Servers where the user and group rights are in a bit of a mess. I wonder what is the best way of getting an overview of the rights. I could use a ls -lR command, but that yields information rather hard to relate to. I would like some kind of graphical tool, a tree-structure or something.

As above really! Its really frustrating. It bounces in the dock as though it is about to start. It then brings up a box that asks if I would like to report it to Apple, which naturally I do.Â
My friend suggested uninstalling and reinstalling it. Its no good!Â
Its ever since the update to Java. Anyone else had similar problems?Â

I've been having some troubles, all of which occurred after installing Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 7. Here are two I've found so far:Â
1. Terminal takes quite a long time to open new tabs.Â
2. Quicksilver hangs (and eventually crashes) when I try to type any type of text to search.Â
When the applications hang, no keyboard input is accepted in any application, though it is possible to use the mouse to move windows. how to revert back to Update 6?

I'm doing technical support for mac users of our java application. One user's problem is that the app doesn't launch. At first, I thought his version of java is not updated but told me that it is updated based on the Software Update. Then I thought the problem's here is that the JRE's not turned on so I made him open the Java Preferences. But sadly, this doesn't open too. I made him gave me the logs on the Console to check the error.

By disabling the Java web plug in in Safari does this deal with/fix the current "security" issues Apple is now addressing?

I am noticing that the Java applet in Chrome often crashes since I updated Java a couple of weeks back. Also, Chrome downloads the frame of some Web pages only, without the central part of the page which presumably is Java-dependent.Â

The latest software update for Mac OS X (10.6.8) upgraded the version of java from Apple and broke an application used for work. Are the previous or older versions of java available from Apple for download?Â
For future updates, Is there a way to modify the software update process to install the the new version but leave the old version in place?

I can't install Java update, not via 'software update', nor via download from Apple support site. Always get error message at 'writing scripts', even with the camera update. Same thing happens when trying to re-install Adobe flash-player, which I had uninstalled after virus threat. Seems I can't install anything anymore. I had previously uninstalled everything Java in Safari and run Mackeeper duplicate eraser.

I installed the Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 8. Since that time I've had problems with WebEx and a file transfer site I use. WebEx gives me a "Sorry, you do not have java download client enabled." everytime I try and start or join a meeting in Safari, Chrome, and FireFox. The file transfer site won't let me log in using either Safari or Chrome. I've been able to log in using FireFox, but I haven't tested if everything is work all right. I went to the Java preferences app and changed the order or 32/64 bit. I also thought perhaps some cached files could have been corrupted so I deleted the cached files. But other than that it doesn't seem like there is anything there that does much.Â

Since installing Java 10.6.1_33, an online program I use will not function. The program says I do not have the correct Java update. Apple says to re-enable Java applets by clicking the region labeled "Inactive plug-in" on a webpage, but there is no region labeled "inactive plug-in". Everything worked perfectly before installing the latest update which was released yesterday.

how to use flashback remaval tool for leopard 10.5.8 ??
View 7 Replies View RelatedA friend used the Kapersky Flashbackcheck.com site to check her MacBook running OS 10.5.8. The UID check indicated her computer was infected so she told me she downloaded and ran the first option that she presumes was the Flashback Removal software. After running it and restarting her computer the screen was blank. There wasnt even a menu bar. However the Skype login popped up and that ˜suddenly made a menu bar appear giving her access to the normal Skype menus, Apple Menu, spotlight etc. A bit of rummaging around indicates that all her files are still there it is just that the desktop doesnt launch (Finder problem maybe?) after multiple restarts.
I won't be able to actually get the computer for a week as she is a student and out of town presently.

I did some searches in google as well as this forum and it looks like there are quite a few options out there for users interested having a program automatically grab missing album artwork from places like amazon if you are running iTunes on Windows.
Users have also reported that some of these tools are great at screwing up the existing album artwork in your iTunes library.
I am looking for a batch tool since I have missing artwork on 1000s of songs (note that this album artwork is not present in itunes store). Does anyone know of a good, reliable program or script that can import missing album artwork on iTunes 8 in OS X 10.5?
