OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Does Java/Java Applets Work In 10.6

Apr 15, 2012

I made a Java applet with Xcode 3.2 and i load it to firefox or Safari(Yeah i've updated my java)and for example

i made a HELLO WORLD simple applet to be in black color letters, then compiled and yeah it worked but then i redid it for the letters to be red.. and they kept being black..no matter how many times i recompiled the applet.

And yeah the HTML is pointing to the correct class file. Also, If if i add a Thread and implement runnable.. then nothing shows up in the canvas.

And also, what ever happened with the appletviewer application? We don't have that anymore.

now the only way to run applets is through a web browser.  Is java applet developement in 10.6 really over?

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Re-enable Java Applets By Clicking The Region Labeled "Inactive Plug-in" On A Webpage

Jun 13, 2012

Since installing Java 10.6.1_33, an online program I use will not function. The program says I do not have the correct Java update.  Apple says to  re-enable Java applets by clicking the region labeled "Inactive plug-in" on a webpage, but there is no region labeled  "inactive plug-in".  Everything worked perfectly before installing the latest update which was released yesterday.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: It Breaks Java Applets, Get Them To Work Again?

Feb 9, 2012

Under Lion, there are lots of Java applets that I can't get to work.For instance, most of these just show solid white:[URL]I can tell that they're loading, because a few of them produce console output I can see in Java Console.Also, a few of them display some GUI elements.But mostly, they're blank.I've encountered lots of other applets, not Java3D, which also don't work.There's a lot of code rot going on due to Apple abandoning Java on the Mac and Oracle not picking it up.I just wanted to know if anyone knew of any tweaks I could make to the system to get these to work.I do, of course, have Java applets enabled in Java Preferences.

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Java For Mac 10.6 Update 8?

Apr 15, 2012

As above really!  Its really frustrating. It bounces in the dock as though it is about to start.  It then brings up a box that asks if I would like to report it to Apple, which naturally I do.

My friend suggested uninstalling and reinstalling it.  Its no good!

Its ever since the update to Java.  Anyone else had similar problems?

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Installing Java For 10.6 Update 7?

Apr 6, 2012

I've been having some troubles, all of which occurred after installing Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 7. Here are two I've found so far:

1. Terminal takes quite a long time to open new tabs.

2. Quicksilver hangs (and eventually crashes) when I try to type any type of text to search.

When the applications hang, no keyboard input is accepted in any application, though it is possible to use the mouse to move windows. how to revert back to Update 6?

I'm doing technical support for mac users of our java application. One user's problem is that the app doesn't launch. At first, I thought his version of java is not updated but told me that it is updated based on the Software Update. Then I thought the problem's here is that the JRE's not turned on so I made him open the Java Preferences. But sadly, this doesn't open too. I made him gave me the logs on the Console to check the error.

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: "you Do Not Have Java Download Client Enabled"

Apr 26, 2012

I installed the Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 8. Since that time I've had problems with WebEx and a file transfer site I use. WebEx gives me a "Sorry, you do not have java download client enabled." everytime I try and start or join a meeting in Safari, Chrome, and FireFox. The file transfer site won't let me log in using either Safari or Chrome. I've been able to log in using FireFox, but I haven't tested if everything is work all right. I went to the Java preferences app and changed the order or 32/64 bit. I also thought perhaps some cached files could have been corrupted so I deleted the cached files. But other than that it doesn't seem like there is anything there that does much.
