syncing iWork documents over iPad iPhone and an iMac??Have tried many things to get this to happen?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been encountering a current issue that I find to be alarming, and want to know if anyone else knows how to remedy the issue. I have OS X Lion and all my software is up to date; I have an iPad 2 and it is also up to date. There has been an issue when I try to sync my music from iTunes to my iPad. It gets to the final stage of syncing, and then the music starts to download, and then it will only download a couple songs onto the iPad and then the computer will freeze. It forces me to completely shut down my computer, and it is really concerning me now. The whole computer is moving completely slow, almost to the point where a simple click on an application causes the rainbow spinning wheel.

I am trying to sync my contacts and my ical from my mac to my iphone and my ipad. It gives message that there is not enough storage. Can I really be using 5 gigs to sync only contacts and ical? I only have 198 cards in contacts and the ical is what I would say as average on entries.

I have several music videos in my iTunes library and for some reason they are no longer syncing to my iPad.They show in iTunes on my computer, and all my music syncs, but the videos do not show in the music location on my iPad, or in the video folder for my iPad. In the past they would show up in video icon, but now they no longer do.

At least two of my albums in my library refuse to stay on playlists I build both on iPad, and my MBA and MBP notebooks. At first, I created the playlist on iPad from my Songs list but when I synced to my MBP, they disappeared off the playlist (but still appear in my songs/music library). I rebuilt the playlist on iPad and synced to my MBA and the same thing happened. Not to be daunted, I created the playlist on each of my notebooks and synced, and each time the same albums would disappear off the synced iPad playlists (but still appear in the Songs/Music library and on my MBA/MBP playlists).Any ideas why certain albums will not sync to a playlist? Both albums with this problem were purchased as CDs then imported into iTunes.

I use mail app on my Mac Pro to view my gmail account, now with iCloud how do I sync my mail on my mac pro, iPhone, & iPad so they are all updated as one account. Currently I my mail on my iPhone and iPad update with each, but my mail on my Mac Pro does not. I thought when I updated to Lion I would be able to use iCloud to solve this problem, but it has not.

I experience an issue with iTunes becoming unresponsive when either my iphone 5s (fully updated) and ipad 4th gen (fully updated) attempts to sync either wirelessly or with the cord. I have went through the apple trouble shooting and came up with no solution. I've also reinstalled iTunes with no luck. I am not able to transfer purchases or backup either device on my mac, including iBooks.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running Yosemite on Mac and iOS 8.1.1 on iPad and iPhone. When i setup Messages on my Mac a couple of months ago all conversations were synced up between all 3 devices. i've continued many of those conversations on my iPad and iPhone but when I opened Messages on my Mac today i noticed that they had stopped syncing about 2 weeks ago. Now when i try to send a message from my Mac it sends it as SMS not as iMessage. how to correct both the SMS issue but more importantly the sync?

I'm using iTunes 10.5.3 (3) on Mac OS X 10.7.3 When I drag and drop music from my iTunes library onto the iPad the iPad will first start to 'sync' but I'll notice that it immediately starts to try and sync up all of my music (I have more music than I have space on my iPad so that would just fail eventually but it starts the slow wi-fi sync of all my music). I check the settings for the iPad (via iTunes) and I notice that the Music tab's "sync" option has suddenly been enabled again (when I've previously turned it off).
This is very strange and annoying as all I want to do is copy music from iTunes onto my iPad. I can do this no problem with my iPhone (has the same sync settings turned off and that doesn't re-enable the sync setting when I drag and drop music from iTunes to it? The only difference from my iPad is that i have the apps tab 'sync' option turned on - see P.s below for more on that)
if I turn off syncing of apps for my iPad I get a message that tells me 22 apps will be deleted and that all data will be lost as well. I'm assuming because some apps I've paid for and some are free I'll be able to re-download them no problem, it's just that some apps have extra settings/configurations on them that I'd rather not lose and I just don't see how turning off the 'sync' option would affect them? Just leave them on the iPad device and stop trying to sync them with iTunes??

I need to have Lion to sync my iPhone and iPad with my iMac. Do I first update to Snow Leopard then Lion to do this?
Info:
iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8), I need to update to Lion
I'm new to the whole Apple scene, been using (and still am using) Windows up to this point but now that I've saved up some cash I want to make the switch. Running a 4-year old Windows desktop and 1-year old Windows netbook right now, sick and tired of this!
I'm a photographer, so I need a computer that can edit photos and video and not just to browse. I spend 5 days a week at my University and the weekends at home, so there is a little issue with the mobility. I have over 30GB of music by the way. Budget allowing, I can get the [ MC511ZP/A - iMac 27"/2.8 ghz Intel Core i5 /4 GB/1 TB HD/ATI Radeon HD 5750 with 1 TB ] as an iMac, or the [ MC373LL/A - MBP 15" 2.66 Ghz i7/4 GB/ 500 GB HD/ 512 MB GDDR3 Intel HD ] if I were to get a Macbook Pro.
Given the circumstances, would it be more reasonable for me to get the MBP+iPad so that I could have a powerful computer I could easily move between my two houses while at the same time having a super-mobile tablet to use in school and for non-heavy duty computing activities, the MBP+iPod Touch which would be the same concept as the iPad but then I'd have to use the MBP for e-mailing and web browsing and just stick to having mobile music, or the 27" iMac which gives me the most bang for the buck and a really pretty screen while having the iPad as my mobile computer although it would mean I would have to go 2-3 days a week with only my iPad as a computer excepting long vacations when I would just take my iMac back to our family house?
For some reason I'm finding this harder than I should! I'm ticking the check box to tell Address Book to sync with Google, and it accepts my username and password fine. The problem is nothing gets synced. I have a full Address Book but nothing gets moved over to Google Contacts.

View 4 Replies View RelatedApple's new OSX Snow Leopard includes native Exchange email sync using Exchange Web Services but it seems that this does not sync emails in the same way outlook does: emails on Mail.app only update when you open a specific folder on your exchange mailbox (like IMAP does) and not like Outlook on windows where folders are updated in the background. does anyone know about this behavior and if it can be changed on Mail to work in the background? I've only tried this on a developer beta (latest version) of SL briefly and noticed this behavior but would like to get feedback from those that may have upgraded.

I'm having some trouble figuring out how to sync outlook over a iMac and Mac Book Pro without connecting them by a cable each time.
Had the Mac Book first and did a migrate to the iMac. Everything is working fine but when I open an email on one it doesn't show that its already been opened on the other.
Is there a way to get outlook to update itself, or a program out there that will do this for me.
My contacts are no longer syncing from my iMac to my iPhone, however they ARE syncing from my iPhone to my iMac. Both are signed in to the same iCloud account and both have contacts selected. This is fairly recent, possibly when I updated to Yosemite. What am I missing?

IMac late 2009, Os X 10.8.3. 8GB RAM. IPhone 4, iPhone 5, iPad mini. iCloud calendar only. Nothing defined On my Mac.
I sync between the mobile devices and iCloud without problems (Mostly Calendar & Notes). Over the last year I have had occasions when my Mac Calendar failed to update with the message "The server is currently not reachable or the connection was blocked). Sometimes the problem went away and Calendar resumed normal syncing. It has been off-line now for 2 weeks.
I have deleted and recreated the icloud calendar in Calendar >Preferences>Accounts. I have unchecked Calendar in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts&Calendars>iCloud and rechecked it. I have created a Google calendar as a test and it is being imported and displayed by Calendar on my mac.
How to make the contacts I have through the Mail program sync up or copy over to my Address Book? Speaking of which, does anyone know how to delete contacts from my Mail? When I go to send an email it can populate the send field with previously-written to contacts, but I can't seem to delete some I don't need/use. That's when I found out that my Address Book doesn't reflect the same things which lead me to asking.
