Why has the clock in the righthand corner of the menu bar of my desktop iMac stopped?

The clock stopped and when I hold cursor over it the spinning wheel appears.

Has anyone else had their clock freeze up on them in Leopard? It's only happened twice, and I'm not sure what triggered it (my guess would be coming back from a screensaver or from sleep) but the clock will be stuck on a certain time, if I mouseover it, I get the beachball. All other aspects of the OS and programs run fine while this is happening. I noticed iCal was still giving the date of the frozen time the clock was display when closed, but displayed the right date when i opened iCal.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy OS X (10.5.6) gave me what appeared to be the blue screen of death today... mid-task it went blue, then rebooted. I noticed that the menubar clock in the top-right corner was missing, as were most of the other icons normally visible up there. I went to System Preferences/Date & Time/Clock, and noticed that the 'Show date and time in menu bar' option was deselected, so I re-selected it but the clock did not appear immediately, like it should. The setting refuses to stick; every time I exit out of Prefs, it deselects itself.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor the last day or so on my mac mini some of my widgets are dead. Like the clock shows the wrong time and am and not pm. The calendar is a day off. Though some are working like istat pro and and a couple of others.
View 10 Replies View Related2 or 3 times recently the clock has been flashing and the apple menu text has been split up on starting. I've rebooted and the problem has gone. I'm using a G5 with OS 10.4.11. Might it just be needing a new battery?

Control click stopped working and does not give me a contextual menu in the finder or any other program (including Stickies or Word) anymore.
I tried resetting Keyboard & Mouse System Preferences to default. I looked for Finder preference, or Finder preference file (it used to be "com.apple.finder.plist" according to an old 2005 forums.Macrumors post) but i could not find one.
I just reinstalled Leopard a couple of weeks ago, and do not want to go thru that again if i can avoid it.
Over on MacThemes, I found Rion's KISSme theme, which I installed, but wasn't really a fan of. So I deleted the SArtFile and Extras files and put the defaults back. However, the titlebar has just done dim and semi-transparent.
I'm using Leopard 10.5.6 and iBook G4 1.33GHz.
I'm not sure why, but there seems to be a void of information regarding changing the menu bar color in Leopard. I've searched here, but seem to find only a single recommendation: MenuShade (which I understand is buggy with Leopard). Most of the other discussion involves changing the transparency of the menu bar, or changing the color of icons in the menu bar.
Two questions:
1) Is there some reason this isn't more commonly discussed? I would think this would be a very common request.
2) How can one change the color of the menu bar?
Well I've gone through a plethora of threads about the leopard menu bar's translucency being annoying, I have yet to find a way to actually make it MORE transparent, so I figured I'll register here and ask away. I'm currently working under Mac OS X 10.5.5, and am working on creating a vector graphics theme of sorts (akin to BattleZone in the 80's) and ran into a snag. What I want to do is take the menu bar on top of the screen and turn it solid green without tinting the text to match the rest of my desktop's theme. Alternatively, making the bar completely black with green text is another option, if possible.
I've so far used LeoColorBar, Leopaque, and Palette, which all can tint the bar, but not make it a solid green. What I want to know is if I can make the menu bar 100% transparent, but keep the text on it visible, allowing me to use LeoColorBar to effectively create a green menu bar, while using Palette to make the menus opaque when dropped down. Here's where I'm currently at in terms of theme, complete with Battlezone background and vector docks through DragThing. How terminal commands that could work, or claims of my insanity for being "that guy who wants that transparent bar harder to see", drop me a reply.
I have an eMac 1ghz ad recently I installed leopard. It didn't have the clear leopard menu bar so I went to the prefs and Went to where you enable it to be clear. But the option was not there.Â

New mail messages appear in Mail on iCloud but, after working perfectly for weeks have suddenly stopped downloading to Apple Mail on the computer (Snow Leopard). I'm not aware that I've made any change that might produce this result. The same failure has occurred on both my iMac and my MacBook.

iCal has stopped syncing using .mac and I can't use iCloud because I'm on Snow Leopard (can't upgrade yet due to Lion's lack of support of previous versions of Microsoft Office). The iCal sync option is turned on in system preferences. Has Apple changed something already in .mac to cause this?Â

"Photoshop CS" and "Acrobat 6.0 Standard" suddenly stopped working in my iMac, apparently after I upgraded it to MacOS 10.6.8 (the latest version of Snow Leopard). Both programs had worked normally until that OS upgrade. I deleted Photoshop CS and tried to re-install it from the original CD, but the installation never proceeds because I get an error message entitled: "Install Adobe Photoshop CS quit unexpectedly". This is the full error message:Â

The menu (the top menu bar, "right click" menu etc) fonts are WAY too big. I downloaded TinkerTool and already lowered the size of all the fonts it let me, looked around the settings in the OS itself but I can't seem to touch the menu font sizes at all.
View 2 Replies View Relateddoes anyone know if there is a application like shapeshifter that changed the appearance of the top menubar?
View 1 Replies View RelatedShould one of the options not be ticked here? Or is this just normal in leopard?

Without using an external program, that is. I know you can change it with an external program, but I was wondering if anyone knows how to modify it from within OS X's files themselves?

I have quite the issue. I just upgraded to Snow Leopard (from Leopard) via USB install disk [thumb drive with Snow Leopard .dmg, Mac OS journaled formatted, GUID...] and everything seems to be working just fine EXCEPT...
My interwebz stopped working!
The airport seems to be working and recognizes the other networks in range, and says that it's connected. When I try to load a page, Safari continues to try and load but eventually says that the 'page can't be displayed'.
I've tried everything - Resetting router, switching browsers, renewing DHCP Lease, toggling airport, etc. It won't even work via ethernet cable from the router. I've read some other people that have had these issues but have not seen any fixes.

I'd really appreciate any feedback you guys have. If you are having the same issue, please post here so we can collaboratively figure this out.
I went to use my tablet today, and nothing happens. It shows up in the USB bus list, but when I check the System Preferences under the Wacom icon, it says no tablet is connected. I tried d/l'ing the latest driver from Wacom[a 2010 update for my Intuos], with the same result. Could this havee something to do with the iTunes update that fixed a drag and drop bug?

I've been getting a Kernel Panic about once or twice a day.I tried the disk repair utility to see if that fixes the problem. I received the message in a dialog box:Disk Utility stopped verifying 'Macintosh HD' This disk needs to be repaired using the Recovery HD. Restart your computer, holding down the Command key and the R key until you see the Apple logo. When the Mac OS X Utilities window appears, choose Disk Utility.I tried restarting holding command-R. After a minute or two, I see the Apple logo. Then, after another couple minutes, I see a big grey circle-slash. Below that, I see the small loading progress circle. This does not go away - it stays there until I restart.

I'm using Mail 3.6 on OS 10.5.8. I have three email accounts I manage through Mail. My main email account has stopped receiving emails. I can still send but not receive. My other two email accounts both send and receive just fine.Â
Mail had prompted me to import messages after a restart right before this account stopped receiving mails. All of the emails (from all three accounts) imported successfully and I'm sure what prompted Mail having to reimport emails in the first place. This main email account had grown quite large, around 46,000 messages and I've since got that number down to 28,000.Â

Time machine has stopped backing up. Under the 'Backing up' progress bar it says that it is scanning thousands of items followed by preparing thousands of items and then cleans up. However, after all of this the latest backup remains the same and no fresh backup is made. I think the problem started when I added a new user restored using time machine (my wife's computer was in for repair and she needed a temporary home!).

If I can tweak a file great, I dont want to rob any performance with a theme or anything like that.
