Intel Mac :: It Won't Start Up Past Grey Screen , Apple And Spinning Clock
Apr 9, 2012I have an intel imac - can't tell you much about the details as I can't get any info out of it. I installed snow leopard about a year ago - no issue since then other than occassionally the screen goes black but nothing major.Yesterday, I backed up to my usual passport backup and then today, it froze. I couldn't turn it off or restart at all so resorted to the power button. Since then, I can turn it on, it goes to the grey screen (no blue screen) and I get the apple logo and the spinning clock/wheel. For hours and hours....So, I tried one of the apple support pages and worked through - peripherals, safe boot, NVRAM, PRAM, tried to reboot with mac osx disc (the original not snow leopard) - nothing. Absolutely nothing changes - same old grey screen, apple logo and spinning clock/wheel.

Apr 25, 2012My "Caps Lock" key stopped functioning. Will not respond under the Keyboard Viewer either, though all the other keys do. Light will not come on, so I have to use the Shift key for each letter that I want to type in capital letters. I cannot find any on/off switches for that key under Help, or in System Preferences. Did I hit a key combinations somehow, that deactivated the Caps Lock Key? I have the bluetooth keyboard that came with my i7 IMAC.

May 10, 2012Airport is working fine, but the network port is having a problem. I have rebooted everything several times (cable modem, computer, wireless modem). I even reset the PRAM. Nothing works. Sep 7, 2014The camera had been working fine with FaceTime, Photo Booth and Skype under 10.9.4 and then something happened. I run FaceTime and the camera screen comes up, but it's black with no sidebar. I had this happen once before when the serial number hadn't been put back after they replaced the motherboard. It's back in now and was working fine. I did have to install Google hangouts plug in, but FaceTime was working fine after that and I've since uninstalled it after FaceTime stopped working and it still doesn't work.Â
I did have AirParrot and SoundFlower installed which the camera worked with, but uninstalled them as I saw something about a possible problem. I've reset SMU and PRAM, nothing. he mac sees the camera as being there so it shouldn't be a camera problem, but the apps while seeing the camera aren't getting any input [and no it's not blocked. ]Â

Up until today I have been watching them no problem, now every single one i have clicked on says 'This video is currently unavailable'. However I can watch them over the same wifi connection on my iPhone4 no problem. I havent downloaded any new software or been on any sites other than Facebook, so can't imagine whats up with it. Please help I've only has it 5 days.

It is an early 2008 Intel iMac. Suddenly the Bluetooth logo changed to the one with the jagged line through it. Bluetooth no longer shows in System Prefs. In the hardware list under Bluetooth it now says, No information found.
