I have a MacBook and the display is much different and an option that i cannot find on the settings. The display on my screen has a negative view to it. As if you were looking at a picture film. I have all the current updates on it, the hard drive is only months old. I don't know what is wrong with it, if a setting what changed that I can't find or if my computer is messing up?

The display looks like a photgraphic negative. Is there a simple way to change it back?

Strange thing happened to my iMac, the background and icon colours has turned to dark colours like raw photo negative. This is the screenshot:

it is almost like a negative effect, but not the actual negative effect that you can do by pressing "ctl+alt+com+8". The other odd thing is that is has seemed to get a little better in the past day or two on its own. I have attached a picture (the problem is best seen in the upper left portion of the display although this problem does cover the entire screen). Does anyone know if this is a fixable problem?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a brand new MBA. First week no problems. Now the display doesn't start when I start up the computer. If the display is open as usual, around 110 degrees. If I almost close the display, just enough to get the finger in and start up, the displays lights up. If I then bend it up to approx 110 degrees prior to logging in the display turns black. If I log in when the display is almost closed I can bend the display as I like 100ds of times and the MBA works as usual.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just received a new Macbook Pro (2012, retina display) and a 27" Thunderbolt display. I am having problems getting the notebook to turn on the display. I called Apple (Monday) and they had me reset the SMC and then the PRAM. After this the monitor was recognized and worked fine for the rest of the evening. However, when I turned things on yesterday evening the monitor would not turn on, and resetting the SMC and PRAM (multiple times) has no effect.

As you can tell by the thread title I've got one of the latest model iMacs and I'm running an LED Cinema Display as a second monitor. When it gets to the late hours I like to watch some movies on the Mac so I figured the Cinema Display would be a nice addition to do the job.
Now here's my issue: if it's late and I'm watching movies I tend to not have any lights on, but having one of the displays on means having both of them on, what I'm wondering is if it's possible to sleep one display while allowing the other to stay active so I can watch the movie without the light from the other one distracting
I am looking to for something that will let me take my HD antenna and get it to go to my display. Is there anything that will allow me to do that? I'm just looking for something that'll work with the HD antenna, I'm not really concerned about cable TV or anything like that.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have my TV connected to my computer so when I'm going to watch a movie I drag it over there. But I don't want it like that all the time, for instance when I play games it's really irritating if I drag the mouse to much to the side it goes out to the TV. How do I turn it off? In Linux and Windows it's no problem at all, but in OS X I can't find that option?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWindows user here that just ordered a 27" QuadCore iMac. Usually on my PC at home, whenever i'm not using it I turn off the monitor but leave the computer itself running most of the time (I run a lot of torrents, VNC, etc). Is there a way to turn off only the display and keep the computer running like I normally would on the PC?
View 7 Replies View Relatedi have 2 LCD's hooked to the new Mini as such:
1 going mini display port to DVI adapter to DVI on 19" Monitor (standard monitor)
1 going mini DVI to DVI adapter to a DVI to HDMI on 52" LCD (Samsung TV)
i just sold me iMac and switched to the Mini not only to be able to hide the Mini which i couldn't do with the iMac but also when i watch a movie full screen on the 52 i was never able to turn off the iMac monitor and would have to cover it with a towel so that it was dark in the room except for the 52 showing the movie.
my thought was that with 2 monitors separately hooked up to the Mini that i could solve the turning off the second monitor problem as they would now both have power buttons. besides making it dark in the room i also like to have the monitor off and so that i can have Plex on the 52 always in full screen mode so my wife can just hit "Watch Plex" on the logitech remote and the TV and Stereo switch to the proper inputs and away she goes to watch whatever without having to touch the computer which when both monitors are on works perfectly.
My display turned progressively bluer.

Time Machine told me I had to erase the files on my external hard drive and I had to put them in trash, so, I did and it is deleting 55,000 files (Old Time Machine backup) and now it's going into negative numbers? Is there another way I can delete the back up?

My screen suddenly went xray/negative/black & white. Everything on the internet says to hit "control+option+command+8," but that doesn't fix it--the screen just goes white. Going to system preference and adjusting the universal access items doesn't help either.

suddenly my screen color changed to negative/black on white. but when i inverted the screen did not back to normal quality. the trace or shadows remains when i move the window. when i log out it turns again to negative form. and when i log in it seems back to normal. but it does not have the same quality and sharpness.Â

First, I'm not a gamer. This pc would be strictly for photo editing and video conversion. I'm using photoshop cs4/ lightroom for pictures. For video, I have two objectives. The first is to convert 8mm to dvd. This would involve iMovie to keep it simple. The second would be for new HD video. Since Apple doesn't support blue ray just yet, I just need a way to offload to avchd on a regular dvd. I think Toast would accommodate this.
IMac (27") and mini would both have 4gb RAm. Hard drive space isn't all that important since I'll have an external as well. 2.5ghz vs. 3ghz. nVidea 9400 vs. ATI radeon. So would the less processing power of the mini be offset by the better monitor (Eizo or NEC ~24")? Or is the iMac display good enough?
my desktop and all browser windows have a polarized/negative effect on and i cannot disable.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAs you can see from the info at the bottom of the post, I own the 2008 model. Now, with my hardware slowly becoming obsolete and the wear starting to show its effects, I would have to get a new laptop in the near future. However, as I discovered, all new models have batteries that cannot be removed. After 2 years of service my battery swelled and had to be replaced. That's 2 years. With a new battery, my laptop's life has been prolonged.Â
How long will a new laptop last? Will I really have to buy a brand new expensive computer every two years just because of a design flaw?Â

My room mate turns on his computer and the screen is fine. After about 15 miuntes the screen image basically goes negative for a minute or so. After that little pixels begin to rain down until the entire screen is pixelated.  When it is pixelated I can use an external monitor to view my desktop perfectly, which eliminates the graphics card as the issue in my opinion. Â

for only one user on the system, the colour scheme has gone negative. Backgrounds, files, programs, etc. have all been affected. I can't find anywhere that would have this effect - it's not in system preferences or anything like. How can I fix this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a slide and negative scanner. All of the ones that I have found in the under $1000 price range say they are compatible with some variety of Windows.
Which is great for them.
But what about Mac? I don't want to spend the money just to find that I can't use the thing.
Any recommendations?

It seems that in his nasty habit of taking naps while resting a body part on the keyboard, he has managed to press some obscure key combination that has inverted the colors on my screen (like a color photograph negative). I've searched everywhere to try to revert this, but had no luck so far. When I restart, and/or log out and back in again, the screen is normal during the booting sequence till I choose the account I want to log in with, then it immediatly goes into "x-ray" mode. If I choose another account, it will boot and log in with no screen problem whatsoever. So this must be either a preference option has been changed via keyboard command or the account is corrupted. Right?
