Intel Mac :: Use Colormunki Photo To Calibrate 27" Display?
May 8, 2012
I want to use Colormunki Photo to calibrate my iMac 27" display but the software states that I must first reset the display to the default settings before continuing. Please could someone tell me how to do this.

I just got the brand new 15" MBP with high res screen, and it is paired with the 24" cinema display.
First thing I noticed is the colors are way off between the two monitors and it is very annoying....I have tried calibrating both with no results, they just have way different profiles to be able to match them.

I have purchased a macbook pro and have been using illustrator and Photoshop to design posters. I then purchased a Epson artisan 1430 printer. And the colours are way off. The screen colors are lovely and vibrant and the print colors are much more dull. I have been told I need to calibrate my macbook to the printer settings?

I have a new 17" macbook pro (glossy screen) and 24" Apple LED Cinema Display, and I'm trying to calibrate each monitor. I'm currently running the Monaco Optix XR and can create some very good looking profiles, each to his own. But, I can not get the monitors close enough in color temperature when they are side by side. The 24" is slightly warmer than the macbook pro display.
I was considering picking up a Pantone Huey pro since my calibrator is so old, but I've been reading about a lot of problems with those on 10.6.
Has anyone had any luck calibrating these two new monitors with identical (or as close as humanly possible) color and temperature?

I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 on my iMac. I also have iPhoto as it came with the iMac when I bought it. I don't really want to use iPhoto at all. I want to use PSE. How do I set my computer to open PSE when I insert my memory card or when I plug in my iPhone or for any other thing that uses photos? Can I just completely uninstall iPhoto?Â

opinions wanted:
First, I'm not a gamer. This pc would be strictly for photo editing and video conversion. I'm using photoshop cs4/ lightroom for pictures. For video, I have two objectives. The first is to convert 8mm to dvd. This would involve iMovie to keep it simple. The second would be for new HD video. Since Apple doesn't support blue ray just yet, I just need a way to offload to avchd on a regular dvd. I think Toast would accommodate this.
IMac (27") and mini would both have 4gb RAm. Hard drive space isn't all that important since I'll have an external as well. 2.5ghz vs. 3ghz. nVidea 9400 vs. ATI radeon. So would the less processing power of the mini be offset by the better monitor (Eizo or NEC ~24")? Or is the iMac display good enough?

I want to buy the 27" iMac - but only if I can use it as external monitor for my Lenovo laptop when working from home. A the Apple store in London they said that this is possible with a Belkin converter from hdmi to mini display port (with a USB power caple to turn it into an active signal). The laptop also has a displayport.

I do a lot of photoshop and Lightroom and am looking to pick up a 2nd monitor to go with my 24" Imac. I don't really care that the 24" matches, I'm more concerned with the functionality of it when photo editing.

I have an iMac OS X 10.4.11. and my version of Photo Booth does not have a Camera Tab for me to connect an additional camera, it only allows me to use it's own built in camera. Is there any way to get an update to my Photo Booth so I can get this tab? I have checked Apple updates but I can't seem to find anything for Photo Booth.

I need to have the built in camera of an IMac take a photograph and insert it into a field in Filemaker Pro without user interaction. It would hopefully be used for staff attendance, and track who is changing records. I have no experience with applescript, but I think it might be the way to get the task done.

Whats the deal with the batteries? I would normally just read through the instruction manuals, but I have heard there is a special way to calibrate the battery when you first receive the laptop hence I am anxious to even start up the new MBP yet.
