Jun 17, 2010I wanna update,but I'm unsure.
Are there any bugs/problems with the new iTunes update?
Is there a new look or anything?

I have a brand new MBP. I have a 1tb external drive with 250gb's of music. I have it attached to my mac via USB. I CANNOT GET ITUNES TO CREATE A NEW LIBRARY ON THE EXTERNAL DRIVE. I CANNOT DRAG AND DROP OR ADD FILE/FOLDER.
But get this, I hook it up to my old Dell and I can do whatever I want. I am friggin pissed that I spent all this money on Mac equip and can't get it going. You may have seen my other post where I posed my issue of: 1tb ethernet drive hooked to airport extreme. Above mentioned 1tb hooked up to back of it via usb. I am completely unable to copy, move, or add files using my mac. But guess what. my pc handles it easily and quickly.
I recently upgraded my system HDD to an SSD with a new install of OSX 10.6.4 and mimicked the settings I had on my previous set up to replicate it. however, when for example I was using iTunes to play music the screen saver would come on and a short time later the system would pause iTunes and goes into Sleep mode.
my previous install never did that so I'm not sure if its because of the SSD and it not being mechanical it doesnt recognize it accessing or seeking 'per se' because regardless of unchecking "Put hard disks to sleep when possible" it still does it. here is an image of energy saver settings; btw I had the system plugged into and still went into sleep mode when iTunes was playing and even other media formats such as Video in iTunes or VLC.
I have a batch of HD video downloads in my iTunes Store queue that I can't delete. Before it was annoying, having to purchase both the regular video and HD video, then delete the unwanted HD download from my queue list, but now it's a problem. I can't empty the unwanted HD downloads, and for me to download them all will tie up my connection for a week or more.
I do not have the bandwidth
I'm using iTunes 10 in Windows XP SP3 and it keeps locking up my computer. I can still move the mouse around, but it's like the screen has frozen and I can't close it through the task manager.
I have to do hard restart. I've tried virus and spyware scans, uninstalling and reinstalling and it still locks up.
this morning i was adding some mp3's to my itunes library, the same way i have been doing it for the last 2 years. all of a sudden my itunes just stopped adding my songs i tried importing it i tried dragging and dropping , literally everything i could think of, i never used a mp3 converter for my songs before , so i highly doubt i need one now, since i have been downloading my music in the same way for the last 2 years. how i can get my itunes to add my music again ?

Since updating to iTunes 10.6, I have never been able to use it, it 10.6 "quits unexpectedly" (crashes) every time I open and try to sync I had no problems previously.

Since installing 10.6.1 (which I was very much looking forward to, for the TV Show sort order bug fix), I can't use Apple TV (gen 2) at all for streaming my own movies. It'll play somewhere between 0 and 30 seconds of video (usually closer to 0), then give "An error occurred". I have installed it on two different Macs, one running Snow Leopard 10.6.8, one running Lion 10.7.3. Same error streaming from both machines.  I reverted the SL machine back to 10.6, since that machine holds most of my media, and the error went away. Â

I've tried importing multiple CDs, none of which will import. Should I update iTunes and try again? Because I really want these albums!

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo a few weeks ago I bought an external hard drive to put all my music (from multiple computers) on, with the plan of making it my itunes library that I would then only access from my macbook pro. Everything was working great. I got all the songs onto my macbook pro, and then began consolidating my library to the external hard drive. My plan was then to go into my macbook pro after everything had been transferred over to the external hard drive, and delete everything in my music folder to free up space.
Well, during the consolidation we must have had a power failure or something, because the computer shut down and thus stopped the transfer. Now, itunes is looking to my external drive for my music (some of which is there), but since the transfer stopped at some point before it was complete, there are a bunch of songs that didnt move, and therefore it can't "find". I havent deleted any of the stuff from my macbook pro music folder, so everything is still all there, but it is not looking there for my music.
I'm thinking of completely uninstalling itunes, reinstalling it, directing it to my macbook pro music folder (which in theory still has all my stuff) and then reconsolidating to the external hard drive.
I have recently copied my iTunes library via CD's to from an iMac G5 to my iBook G4. I am using iTunes 7 (but the problem was there in the previous version).
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a Sansa-- and, as I'm sure has been said before, am incredibly frustrated with the lack of compatibility with mac.
Anyone know of a script or such to get my iTunes onto my Sansa? I'm operating a MacBook and have a Sansa m240 player.
I converted a .flac file to a .wav file in order to import it into iTunes but it still doesn't work. What can I do to fix it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have most of my music hosted on an FTP server, so I'm looking for a way to drag and drop from the FTP server (connected either through Finder, or any other client) into iTunes, and then have iTunes copy the music to my library. That way I don't have to download it to my local HDD, then import into iTunes, then delete the orginal. Just skipping a ton of extra work if I can drag and drop. Currently, I only get disconnected from the server if I try to drag and drop from Finder, and get nothing from Filezilla, and Transmit.
View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently I noticed that whenever I open the iTunes store I no longer have a left to right scroll bar at the bottom of the page. Therefore I can't see anything on the right side of the page without making the whole window bigger.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a folder containing 11 mp3 audio tracks that for some reason won't import into iTunes. I've tried the following:
- Double-Clicking each mp3 file
- Dragging the mp3 file into the iTunes window and the iTunes Dock icon
- Choosing 'Add to Library' from the file menu
mp3 track information:
Channel Count 1
Total Bit Rate 288,000
Here's the scenario: I Let a friend borrow this iPod from me for about a year. She used Windows and her own music, and I'm pretty sure used "Manually Manage Music" to get the songs on it.
The iPod appears on my desktop, but only has one folder in it, which has one song in it...none of the other music can be found. It says "600 MB" is available, but it's a 4 gig iPod.
I want to try to restore it, but the iPod Mini won't appear in iTunes. I don't care about losing the music on the iPod, because it isn't my music. Do newer versions of iTunes recognize iPod Minis?
It seems that my CD drive is not working properly. I am trying to burn some audio CDs using basic CD-Rs through iTunes. I used to have no trouble doing this whatsoever. Now, for some reason, when I go to burn a CD, I am simply unable to do so. The drive reads the blank CD and asks what I want to do with it, as usual. Then, when I create a playlist and hit "Burn Disc," the program seems to be going through all the necessary steps: checking media/playlist and initializing burning, but then it ejects the CD and I get an error message saying "The attempt to burn a disc failed. The device failed to respond properly. Unable to recover or retry."
Could this have anything to do with the file types I am trying to burn (audio files bought/downloaded through the iTunes store) or the type of CD-R I am using (they are basic, Verbatim recordable compact discs). Or could it be a simple case of computer settings? I haven't changed a thing since I was able to burn discs, or at least not to my knowledge.
Furthermore (and this is the part that really worries me), my drive seems to have become selective in reading discs. DVDs always seem to work, but there are certain CDs that the drive just ejects and refuses to read. It spins a little, makes a couple weird and unfamiliar noises, and then gets spit out, without ever having been detected by the computer.
I have never dropped my laptop or done anything that I think would have damaged the hardware, so it is very confusing to me that this would be happening.
Using 10.5.3. When I go to Store>View my Account>Edit Nickname, type in a new nickname and click 'Submit', nothing happens. The page doesn't change or anything.
