I'm using iTunes 10 in Windows XP SP3 and it keeps locking up my computer. I can still move the mouse around, but it's like the screen has frozen and I can't close it through the task manager.
I have to do hard restart. I've tried virus and spyware scans, uninstalling and reinstalling and it still locks up.
I have all my music on an external HD that I've used for a few years. I told my old computer (1GHz TiBook G4 with Tiger) to export my iTunes library, which it did, as a .xml file. Then, I opened that file on my new iMac, and only about 1/5 of the songs were found, apparently. This doesn't make sense to me, as the iMac is connected to the HD when I import the old library. If it makes a difference, the TiBook was NOT connected to the HD when I exported the library. I have the two computers networked together via Ethernet right now, though.

I have a brand new MBP. I have a 1tb external drive with 250gb's of music. I have it attached to my mac via USB. I CANNOT GET ITUNES TO CREATE A NEW LIBRARY ON THE EXTERNAL DRIVE. I CANNOT DRAG AND DROP OR ADD FILE/FOLDER.
But get this, I hook it up to my old Dell and I can do whatever I want. I am friggin pissed that I spent all this money on Mac equip and can't get it going. You may have seen my other post where I posed my issue of: 1tb ethernet drive hooked to airport extreme. Above mentioned 1tb hooked up to back of it via usb. I am completely unable to copy, move, or add files using my mac. But guess what. my pc handles it easily and quickly.
I just bought a bunch of games for my itouch on itunes, and I was wondering if can you save the games to your computer? Just incase something would happen to itunes or my itouch. I would really hate to spend the money and loose them somehow

For example, my Macbook has two tv seasons of The Wire that does not appear on my PC iTunes. Also, there are a number of apps on my PC that I don't have on my Mac notebook. So I currently have a late 2008 MacBook Pro. I may be getting a new iMac for Christmas. My question is, is there a way to basically transfer all of my files/programs/etc. to the new Mac without having to reinstall everything? The iMac will become my primary computer, and the MBP will become kind of a sitting on the couch/travel computer. This is the first time I will be upgrading Macs, as the MBP was my first non-PC computer.
The MBP is running Snow Leopard already.
With my Macbook, I just did a software update to be able to use the newer version of AIM. So I let the updates install and the let the computer restart. So when I turn it on I keep getting this message: You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button for several seconds or press the Restart button.

I am trying to create a computer-to-computer network, but I keep getting the message "Connection Failed".Futhermore, in the window "Create computer-to-computer network" the pull-down for "Channel" is blank. I have successfully done this on other Macs. Is there some hardware limitation on this old of a Mac mini that won't allow this to be done I can't find anything stating this anywhere.

My hard drive recently crashed, and I had to get a new one. When I got my computer back (from the reputable third party I had fix it), it was updated to mavericks. I guess the things on the drive couldn't be recovered, which is alright. I had most of it backed up. But I no longer have iphoto or imovie on the computer. I'm not sure why that is, and I checked the "purchases" folder in the appstore. There's nothing to download there. Is there some other way I can get my software back?

I recently purchased a MacBook 2.1 running 10.4.11, however the seller of the item sent the computer to me with a lot of his own data on so I decided to delete this and start fresh.Whenever I insterted the Tiger disc it would tell me that it was unable to install Mac OS X on my computer so I decided that the best thing to do would be to erase the hard drive, however in doing so I erased the operating system and now whenever I try to boot the computer from the disc I am faced with a folder with a question mark flashing at me.
It appears to do something when I insert the disc that my housemate got with his MacBook Pro which runs Snow Leopard but still tells me that it is unable to install OS X.
im pretty much dumb when it comes to my new mac and im having problems with my ichat, it wont let me video chat with my girl, it worked yesterday but now its saying somethign along the lines of, your computer isnt compatable with video chat, or something like that

When the installation was done and computer rebooted, i didn't see any changes at all. Everything was exactly the same.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have two imac computers networked both running Leopard OS. Mac1 connects to the 2wire ADSL router via Ethernet. Mac2 connects via wireless. Wireless signal is strong. Both computers can connect to the Internet. Both computers can share files with each other. Firewalls set to allow all incoming connection.
Cannot ping from either computer to the other. Error message: Permission Denied. Using the terminal for pinging has the same results. Have not found a solution search the forums. Would like to solve this problem before attempting to add a windows xp laptop to the network.
I've got a four year old Macbook Pro 17", running 10.5.8 OSC, 2.33 ghz, 3gb 667 mhz ddr2 sdram.
The power cord was unplugged, although the battery was fully charged. I plugged in my Canon printer for the first time in over a year. It printed half a document, then the computer shut down. I pushed the power button and got the start up chord, but then it shut down again. Tried this a few times. Then I unplugged the printer and plugged in the power chord. it started, but it's very slow, and I keep getting the pinwheel.
Have an old MBP. Just installed lion on it today. Previously, the computer had no password (at login, I would just hit enter so essentially the password was nothing). After installing Lion, that no longer works, and now I can't get into my computer.

The menu that lists the choices for my wifi internet connection includes the internet connection I set up with the SSID that I recognize (call it A) - but it also contains another SSID that I may have set up a long time ago and forgot about (call it B). B's SSID is the same name as the brand of my router; it has no protection listed. It also gets better connectivity than SSID A. How can I find out if B is actually my own connection? How can I add a security password?Â

my Macbook Pro is not powering up, Yesterday I connected a camera that has the USB cable with the little transformer. And the Computer suddenly turn off!  It´s not working at all... I really don´t know what happened..These are some of the characteristics of the problem:Â
1) Not even the battery Light its on when I press the Power button.
2) Not even the Light in front of the Mac is on when I press the Power button.
3) There is not even a sound of the cooler fan or anything.
4) When I connect a the power cable the first 10 seconds the light of the cable is off... Then it appears a little "Orange intermittent" light but nothing more happens.Â
