Anyone have a problem playing wmv files using flip4mac on quicktime x. Ever since I installed SL, I'm having problems fast forwarding and rewinding in flip4mac. Anyone else have this problem or workaround?
View 3 Repliesis there any way of playing a DRM WMV file on a mac? I have Flip4Mac installed so can play WMV through QuickTime player. I also have virtual PC, which i can play the DRM WMV file with, but it plays really slowly in that and is virtually unwatchable.

system : 4 x Power Mac G5(running snow leopard 10.6.4)
Storage : IQ 36000x
software : Final Cut Pro ver 7.0.2
problems:
1 .Play clip in fast forward mode(2x) at FCP directly from Isilon using 1 FCP � Video and Audio is OK
2.Play clip in fast forward mode(2x) at FCP directly from Isilon using 1 FCP and another FCP is exporting clips to Isilon � Both FCP video and audio is jerking.
3.Play clip in fast forward mode(2x) at FCP directly from Isilon using 2 FCP � Both FCP video and audio is jerking, but when pause 1 FCP playback another one runs smoothly, and when start to play again the jerking also start to occur
4.All this mess happened after i upgrade from 10.6.3
I haven't read so much the blurb for Snow Leopard but will QuickTime X do without the need for Perian and Flip4Mac plug-ins? I understand QuickTime X has some increased compatibility, though I'm guess not to the extent that you can do without those plug-ins...?

I shoot HD videos on my Nikon P100 and play them from QuickTime on my Win7 machine. I'd like to be able to play multiple files one after another, but it seems Apple does not allow this. For instance, if I click multiple files and then click Open, it brings up two copies of QuickTime. It seems it can't figure out that I'd like a single QT window that would know to play the first file then the second file. Is there a way to achieve this behavior in QuickTime for Windows?

I'm using a mid-2007 iMac running 10.6.1.
I have a .wmv file and when I try to open it in quicktime it only plays half of it, but when I attempt to convert it to a different format like .avi, the quality gets reduced but it will play the entire thing.

After I've updated to Lion, Quictime Player got updated to 10.1 and it no longer recognizes .sdp files. It gives an error message with "Quicktime Player cannot open files in the "OpenOffice.org 1.0 Presentation" format."Â
The same sdp file plays well on Windows version of QuickTime Player, and if I boot to Snow Leopard, it works on QT Player 10.0. Is there a way to fix this problem and let the QuickTime Player recognize the .sdp files again?Â
I used to watch streaming video podcasts in iTunes and they would popup in a separate quicktime-type window. Since a recent update streaming podcasts appear in a non-adjustable window over iTunes and I am no longer able to select which portion of the podcast I would like to view. This is irritating.
I've looked through the settings and can't find anything that fixes this.
This is 10.6.2 on a Macbook Pro (Spring 2009?), with iTunes 9.
Basically I want to watch high definition videos on my 42" hdtv so I bought the mini display port to hdmi adapter. When I play the videos with VLC I notice choppiness when things move too fast across the screen. Is this a limitation of the hardware (the integrated GPU?) Anyway I can perhaps smooth it out?

So I got online and downloaded Flip4Mac. At first this only allowed me to play the WMA files through Quicktime. So I read a bit more and it said I needed Flip4Mac Pro to use Quicktime components to convert WMA and other windows files to MP3 and other Mac compatible formats. So I bought Flip4Mac Pro. My iMac came preloaded with Quicktime X and when I open a WMA file in Quicktime and click export, the only option it gives me is "Audio Only" and it does not successfully export. Does anyone know how to use Flip4Mac Pro to convert WMA files to MP3? Â

I installed the application flip4mac to try it out but came to the conclusion that I do not want it. I want to move the folder/app from the finder/applications window to the trash but keep getting this report:
"The operation cant be completed because you dont have permission to access some of the items"

I have the latest QT and OSX software. I also have Perian installed. I upgraded my Flip4Mac to version 2.4.4.2 recently and now my QT will not play wmv files and sometimes it will not play mov files. I've never had trouble with QT before and have learned through online research that there has been an issue with a 3ivx codec that comes with Divx that everyone says to remove from the System/library/quicktime folder. I checked, and I didn't have that particular codec listed. I DO, however, have ALL of these codecs listed in my QT folder:Â

Since LION's installation and as a consequence the upgrade of QT player to release 10.1 I am not able to read any . MOV from my Canon Camera.I can perfectly watch it in iMovie or Aperture.

I am starting a new thread because I am unable to play mov files in QuickTime X.  This includes previously downloaded movie trailers from apple, mov files downloaded in itunes, mov files filmed on my iPhone or even files created from hd camcorder files. I am alo unable to play embedded QuickTime movies on the apple homepage, or play move trailers such as: [URL]Neither does the "download" option work. However if I force the files to play with QuickTime 7 or vlc, they play fine. If I use Firefox the embedded videos play ok, but in the example of trying to download the movie trailers still doesn't work.Â

After updating I can't play certain mp4 movies anymore with my Quicktime X Player: I can hear audio but I don't see video.
What is so strange about it that until today I was able to view them without any problems.
I still can watch them with VLC player.
When I click on file info, I see these codecs: AAC, H.264, MPEG-4 SDSM, MPEG-4 ODSM
How can I solve this problem? I am using OS X 10.6

itunes will not play mp3 files that quicktime plays. I've dumped the files into itunes and added them via add to library. Opening with quick time the files play fine.Â
