I have seen many nicely designed desktops and most of them have customized menubars, from the different menu icons (like gmail notifier, bowtie, etc) to even the fonts and different apple icons.
I have tried to use Magnifique but, that seems to only change some of it.
My question is, how would I be able to change the fonts and the icons on the menubar? What would I need?
My work computer id acting up. I am running Mac OS X, using a standard, single-button mouse. The problem is, it doesn't want to simply click once and double clicks at random times. I'm not sure when it will happen next, but it's getting annoying. Also, it seems the computer is having trouble highlighting text. When I scroll over text to highlight, it will not stay highlighted. This makes quick copying and pasting impossible.
Keep in mind, this is a work computer and I would not be able to directly manipulate files. Also, our "IT" person usually guesses until she gets it right.
Note: I know that there are probably threads related to this topic, but I did not find any in my searches. I guess the forums match the machines when it comes to not finding what you need.
I just bought a MacBook Pro and had Word 2007 installed. Double clicking the mouse on a word in my document will not cause it to be highlighted.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor three weeks now, the windows on my desktop turn blue and separate when I click on a link or open another window. I had the hard drive replaced; Apple diagnostic found nothing. Accidentally discovered it happened when I used my mouse. Scroll only worked forwards, not back or to the side. Replaced mouse with new, identical model. Still happens. Then I used an old mouse from 2003, no scroll wheel, but it seems to work fine.

Replaced the batteries in my bluetooth mouse, (microsoft notebook mouse 5000) it blinks red and green as if it is in discoverable mode - computer finds it, but can not pair successfully with the mouse. Microsoft guy says that the drivers in blue tooth are not up to date - i've used this mouse on the computer before.. It doesn' t make sense.Â

I'm using the bluetooth mighty mouse with my mbp and all of a sudden, like literally five minutes ago, the thing just stopped working. The mouse still works in that I can move the mouse around the screen with it, but clicing is not registered/recognized, nor is scrolling of any kind, or things like opening the dash board or expose. I'm kind of confused. Has anyone heard of anthing like this where the mouse can still be used to move around the screen but cannot click or do any other functions? I tried removing it from the blue tooth menu or whatever that's called and then setting it up again, but still no dice. Is there any way to fix this? Is this a problem with the mouse or is there something funky wrong with my computer or blue tooth?

When trying to open computer after being in sleep mode, I clicked the mouse to open the password screen, & a blank blue/black screen appeared & the mouse timer( colored circle) appeared, as if to be waiting. I had to unplug the computer to reboot it. This has happened twice in 2 days.

after unplugging the mag connector, battery status indicates 100% after 1.75 hours. anyone seen this before? did not notice this happen prior to update.
Is it possible to have a kind of dropdown list of the devices (hard drives, dvd drives, usb drives) from an icon in the menubar? It would be very convenient.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOK, this seems to be a fundamental flaw in OSX. I cannot find how to do this:
- I have a MBP and an external monitor and I want to use only one at a time.
- I want to use the optimal resolution for each monitor.
- It seems the only way to put the dock and menubar in both monitors is by mirroring, but that sets the external monitor at a lower resolution.
- I don't want to have to drag the menubar from one to the other.
I just installed SL, and it seems as if all my menubar icons have disappeared. I have tried fixing permissions and that did not seem to help.

View 6 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know of a way to JUST change the apple logo in the menubar?
I want to change it to this image:
I'm on Snow Leopard and have SnowTunes Noir installed, and I'm not a big fan of the Apple.
When Safari is active, the menubar and the dock disappears. I have chosen not to show/hide dock in system preferences, and whenever any other program than Safari is active, the dock and menubar stays put. My OS is 10.7 - P.S. I have not maximized the Safari-window.
What could cause this, and how do I get the dock and menubar to stay even when Safari is active?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem in fullscreen mode, on my Macbook pro 15".I LOVE fullscreen, and infact the next macbook I will get is the 11" air because of its size and because full screen is so nice to work with.Suddenly the menubar will not display it self when I move the mouse to the top of the screen. The only way I can access the menu bar is by exiting full screen (ctrl + Cmd + F) and the toggel it back on after I have used the menubar .This actually makes fullscreen mode useless and its driving me nuts, because this should not happen on Apple software. I would expect these sorts of behaviour on windows but not in osx.

I bought the Mini Display Port to HDMI & HDMI to HDMI cables to hook my MacBook Air to my HDTV. I don't want mirroring. I want my HDTV to be a separate display. I have the mirroring not ticked but when I do my HDTV only shows the background of my OS and not the dock nor the menu bar/windows.
Can you recommend a weather app for SL that sits in the menubar? I did a search on macupdate and basically came up with many that were developed (and haven't been touched since) 2-3 years ago. Any that you can recommend that work well with SL and don't use a huge amount of system resources?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter a few minutes of rebooting the machine i will use spotlight and it will be very flickery. Like when updating results, the blue bar flickers white and blue very quickly and almost unnoticeable. Also, related, when scrolling a list in the dock through a stack shown in list mode, it flickers a lot there as well. Is this normal behaviour for these machines/leopard in general? I'm used to using a crappy old iBook so i dont know if im just being pedantic.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to highlight an already read and saved message in Mac Mail? To clarify, when I open Mail I have a window that shows all my incoming messages, both unread and read. Sometimes after I read a message I want to be able to go back and quickly find it. This could be several days later and in the meantime I have 50 more saved messages and trying to find it is difficult. Is there some way to highlight it in color or flag it so I can easily go back and find it? I am running 10.5.8 although I doubt that has any bearing on anything.
