I'm running 10.6.2 and iTunes 9.0.2 and it keeps randomly stopping. its very annoying. I'll play a tune and then after a while it will just randomly stop as if I have hit the stop button. It seems to be random in that sometimes it'll take 10 seconds, another time it will play the song for a minute or so. When I opened iTunes earlier it played a song on its own accord too. Very strange. Anyone else experienced this? Possible causes? I have a bluetooth mouse connected which I thought might be malfunctioning but it happens when the cursor isn't over the play/stop button.
Some months back iTunes began launching itself whenever I booted my Mac, something it had never done previously. Initially I just disabled it by removing components from prefs or other locations in /Library or using AppDelete. Is there a way to stop the self-launching without removing components that only make it harder to use when it has to be reinstalled from scratch. I just want it to be a normal app I click on when "I" want it to open.
I have a MacBook Pro and when I play movies in itunes, the movie keeps freezing. It runs for a few minutes and then stops for a while then starts again. What can i do to correct this?
Recently iTunes has started randomly pausing, regardless of the song. Usually every few minutes. I have like 500 songs so it ain't the songs. What's going on?
So my itunes randomly changed colours(it's a really dark grey now, can post ss if needed), lags, and closes itself anytime I try to add a song to it or do anything on it.I've tried reinstalling it many times but have had 0 luck with it. I found a few other similar threads to this one and tried the things listed in them but again had no luck with it so I decided to post my own.
At first when it started happening I had songs on it, whenever I tried to make it go to the next song it would close itself. If I didn't try and pick another song it would randomly close itself after playing for a bit. After reinstalling it would not even let me add songs, anytime I try and select movies, or anything other then the main music thing it closes itself.By the way, it's a macbook OS X version 10.4.11
My mid-2014 15" Macbook Pro randomly "loses" its retina display at the top menu (becomes pixel-y), where the battery, sound, and wifi logos are (on the top right side of the screen). A restart fixes the issue, but I want to know if this is an issue that can be fixed?Â
So basically I'm sat here pretty chuffed with my self after putting together a nice Spotify playlist, and iTunes keep randomly playing music? I've shut it down and stuff, but it literally opens and plays random music tracks.
Sometimes one song in the middle of a cd is missing, and sometimes a single just disappears. The weird thing is that the name and albumcover is still there, but the music file is not. The original file in the music library is gone, and a lot of it is music i bought in itunes.Â
Also, i keep getting less and less space on my harddrive. It's like it's automatically filling up, allthough I'm not filling it with anything. Â
I have noticed that iTunes has deleted a random selection of music from my library. There is a useful little exclamation mark next to the track it has removed the data of. I have used spotlight to search to try to find the missing file, but without fail it opens my college notes from ten years ago. That's interesting. I suppose it is gone for good and I have to buy it again, preferably from the i-apple-store??

iTunes was open and I was listening to my music through my headphones when it paused randomly. I unpaused it and went on my way, but a few seconds later it paused again, then unpaused. I dealt with it for a little while, then I decided to close iTunes and listen to Pandora. Now iTunes is opening and playing music by itself, no matter how many times I quit it.
I don't know why, but iTunes entirely too often on my computer. I use a 15" MBP running 10.6.4 (The latest version of SL). I'm using iTunes 10, but I was having this issue prior to the update. It crashes seemingly randomly sometimes when I finish an album, sometimes between songs, and sometimes just mid-song. Restarting seemed to help once, but it eventually started crashing again, and all subsequent reboots have had no effect. I have about 21 GB of music, mostly pirated (though let's not get into that debate); I listen to music by the album. My library is completely music (no TV shows, podcasts, etc.). Am I the only one sending them 20 enraged error messages a day?
For the past few days, my i-mac (10.4.11) has been playing music randomly. I'm not sure what the cause is, but I assumed it could be limewire, so I deleted it. I'm currently using Macscan to look for spyware, but no spyware files have been detected. I know what program it plays through-- Safari. and as far as I can tell it always plays my ITunes songs.
My macbook keeps stopping every 5 seconds to think or something, the colored wheel comes up last for 5 seconds and then it starts again. Only happens when am working never on its own. Mac is under a year old
I have recently binned my old epson printer and I deleted the software BUT Apple updates keep appearing and I have no idea how to stop them. This is not life threatening I know but it is a nuisance.
My imac is only 3 months old and has started slowing down, randomly playing music when connected to iTunes, spinning colour wheel takes she's to laid anything.
I accidentally clicked on download Mac OSX Lion under my purchases and the only options are to pause and resume the download. I don't want to download it, and only see the option to pause the download. What are my options?

When my Mac boots it opens load of apps in my menu bar (InsomniaX, iAlertU, LogMeIn, EverNote) this is annoying, uses memory (probably) and it makes it look cluttered how do i stop them from loading.
I have checked the preferences in each app and there is nothing there and there is nothing in Login items in accounts in system prefs.
How do I stop the Address book from importing every contact I reply to? It's annoying, I'm trying to keep it clean so that it's only for my iPhone, but it insists on importing every contact every time I respond to an email. So I end up with a bunch of duplicates and junk in my book. I'm using Firefox and Gmail, but it seems to do it from whatever email program I'm using the time..
Recently my Macbook OS X 10.5.6 has been making the wireless internet in my house stop working. It will happen randomly and I have to unplug my router and modem every time it happens. I know it has to do with the my mac because the other house desktop computers work fine when the mac isn't turned on and not connected to the internet. I've been finding a lot of people have been having the same kind of problem with airport.
I have an airport extreme with a 1TB seagate external connected to it. I watch videos on my macbook pro (late 2009 model) through the wireless. The video works fine and has no lag or freezes. But when I open safari and load up a site or use skype, while watching a video, it starts to freeze and lag a lot when a site is being loaded. Everything is fine when I hook up an Ethernet cable on my macbook.
Is there anyway to stop the lag on the video when im loading websites?
I've just bought an Imac 21.5inch, mid 2011 - Lion 10.7.3 (11D50) and the wireless connection keeps stopping either it shows it's connected or it's not connected at all. This happens every 30 mins or so, sometimes after 5 minutes or sometimes I can get away for a few hours. I'm using a Draytek router with 3 Wifi aeriels and in the house I have 2 mac minis, an ipad, iphone, android phone and a couple of other PCs, none of which have this problem. I've tried changing the router from G to N and also checked who else nearby is in the same wifi settings, I'm set to 6 others set to 1 or 12. So wouldn't think there is interference. I've only just bought this machine so wondering if it's a problem with Lion or the iMAC. Â
Quicktime pro -I have exported two mp4 to web formats with no problems. All of a sudden it is now stopping and shutting down. I am on a pc with windows 7.
I have a dual 1.25gHz powermac G4 that has been serving me amazingly well for the last 5 years. Until yesterday. Turned the computer on, ran like normal, opened Safari then Poomf! Off! When I press the power button it lights up but nothing kicks in. This made me think power supply or motherboard. So luckily I have access to other G4's at college. Thinking it was the power supply I swapped it out. Pressed power, same problem..Replaced the power supply in replacement machine, swapped HD over to new machine. Booted up for 2-3 mins, boomf, off, same issue.Frantically tried again, C Major tone.. Boomf, off.. Pressed and held and got 1 long beep. Which is apparently a RAM issue? Kept it held. Nothing.Took HD out and replaced machines to original states. Even tried swapping the battery between them.Borrowed G4 now won't stay on for longer than 10 mins. My old G4 still won't do anything with any drive in.I've tried placing my original drive as a slave in the borrowed G4 and same problem, no power up. As soon as its disconnected up it roars.

I've just recently bought the 27 " LED ACD, and it's totally beautiful. However, it seems that when watching videos/movies, the display would go to sleep, whereas compared to my MBP, as long as video is playing, the display would still be showing. How can I set the ACD to act the same way?
