I am a novice on the Mac (OS X 10.6). My mail icon is Gone! Don't ask. I went through the finder, nothing. Any other advice to locate it before I have to re-install my OS? If I have to do that, anything in particular I have to do / don't do?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm using Outlook 2011 and decided to change its dock icon. Everything works great, but each time when I receive an e-mail and thus the dock email notification appears, the icon will switch back to the original Outlook icon. Only after I've checked my e-mail will the icon switch back to my custom icon again.
Is there a way to retain my custom icon even upon receiving the e-mail notification on the dock icon?
I will like to change the stamp icon for Mail on the dock of my Imac with the icon for mail from the iphone dock.

I am trying to foward an email to a group in my contact list, but now I have to add them by clicking the + one by one, or opening the contact app and selecting all and dragging them to the "to" part of the mail!
The downgrade in this doesn't make any sense!!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have switched email for the first time in 15 years, to a new provider. I finally got MacMail configured and got that working with the new servers, etc. Weird thing is that on my MacBook Pro, on the dock where the mail icon is, it says I have 4 unread emails, which is the same thing it says in my Inbox. However, no matter what I've tried, I can't find those unread e-mails, and therefore can't open them. I tried clearing out old emails, rebuilding mail, etc. to no avail. I can and have got other emails and had no trouble opening them. My outgoing mail is fine. I'm using Safari if that makes any difference.

My mail icon seems to have a mind of its own. I have my dock hidden and when I get new mail sometimes the mail icon will bounce nice and high onto the screen to alert me. Other times the mail icon just sits there hidden until I'm at the edge of the screen and the dock is shown, then it bounces.
I already made the rule for the icon to bounce when I get new mail, which it does sporadically. I just want to make it bounce into view EVERY time I get a new mail.
Is there any easy way to make the Mail dock icon bounce when new mail is received? All I can find is a preference for playing a sound, but I hate system sounds with a passion, so a visual cue would be much preferred. Any one know how to do this?
