Firstly i am running chrome.
When i go to some websites (which i have the password stored in keychain) it auto fills in username and passwords, but i have to click ok (seems pointless).
Other sites (such as facebook) when i load them they already have been logged in.
How to I get it to do this for all websites.
I've been trying to delete the passwords saved in my auto fill and havr followed the instructions outlined in the Help section but it still won't delete anything. Does anyone have a solution to this? I have even tried resetting Safari.

I have safari save all of my login's and passwords so that I don't have to remember them. I'm about to wipe my computer, so I need to write them down so i can re-add them after the wipe. I went to preferences -> autofill -> edit usernames and passwords, and i don't see a way to get safari to reveal my saved passwords!I'm running Safari 5.1.3 on Mac 10.7.3.

I saw a thread that said copy ~/Library/Keychains and put that on the new Mac, but I just want to make sure that that will work, or if there is someway I can actually view the passwords & logins, etc.

I need a way to export my Safari passwords into Chrome of Firefox. I started using Chrome and the only thing its lacking are my passwords. If there is no way to get passwords from safari into chrome please tell me if theres a way to get them from safari into firefox because the transfer from Firefox to chrome is easy. View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem with autofill not completing passwords. Usernames / IDs are being completed on websites but associated passwordsa are not being autofilled. I have tried to delete them from Safari/Preferences/Autofill/Usernames and Passords but I cannot delete a single entry or even the entire list! I have even tried deleting the site info: UserID and password from Keychain Access and then re-entering them manually but this does not seem to rectify the problem. Every time I open a website with a log in required, the username / ID is autofilled, but the password is now not. (It all worked previously) When I input the password, a dropdown window asks if I wish to have it remembered and I say yes, but it is not. Â

I've formatted my Mac synced with me.com and now it remembers just my usernames and not passwords, when I do type in the password it asks me do I want to store it, but it never does. Plus when I go into prefs of safari and try and delete them it wont let me do that either. Is there anyway I can delete all my usernames and passwords and start again?

After doing research, I found out that this is from people trying to login to my SSH and trying random passwords. Is there a way to ban their IP's after a few tries?
For some reason when I type a website, email or anything that should be a hyperlink it does not auto format after I hit the space bar. I have noticed this in Google Chrome and Outlook for Mac. I have checked the preferences already in Outlook and the checkbox to auto format internet extensions links is checked. Also I checked in Word if I had the same issue and I don't. Hyperlinks will auto format.

I saved several voicemails from my landline (Comcast Digital Voice). They are saved in a folder in my Documents folder but also are showing up in my iTunes library. They are saved as .wav files. decided to download some apps without paying attention and decided to download InstallMac into my Macbook Pro. I have done some previous research and installed the Adware Removal Tool and it did work delete some of the items, but I think there's still more to delete that the adware removal tool did not get. Â
Whenever I search something on Google Chrome, the address bar will show search.strtpoint.com before redirecting to my search. For example if I type the letters dasf in the search bar on Google Chrome it will show the url: [URL]
I've tried using Avast full system scan and many of the items couldn't be deleted. It would say, Unable to scan: 1675 items and about 37 infections and I believe this is all from the Install Mac that I've downloaded.

To be honest the whole safari thing is always going to be a running joke to everyone. Safari cant play embedded videos or loads of the content on youtube because of Apple insistence to lock it to only use thier version of flash, why not remove it all together and have a browser choice like Windows has this would at least give the users a chance to get a browser that is fully functional?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn a previous contact software program I have used for years, the first letter of names, streets, and cities, were automatically capitalized as I typed them in. Unfortunately, that software does not work under Lion and the developer is out of business. Because of that, I am trying to convert to Address Book. I can't find the ability to have that same thing happen in Address Book. Is there something I can turn on in Preferences or some other obscure window? My old contact software also automatically filled in cities, names, or states that I previously entered. Great time saver but doesn't seem to exist in Address Book.

I don't know if this is properly autofill or autocomplete - the two overlap too much anyway so I'm not wasting brain cells trying to come up with a distinction that makes sense to non-engineers. ANYWAY. Here's the point.Â
I'm on my bank website. My login is xtnjohnson -- just like here. Only I mistyped it once, so in autofill/autocomplete (whichever it is), I get a little drop-down showing two options: xtnjohnson or xtnjohson. Â
I want to delete only the second option. I recall at sometime finding a very simple way that involved highlighting the offending entry and hitting either control-delete, shift-delete, command-delete, or function-delete, only I can't seem to get any of those combinations to work. And of course I can't find the thread anymore.Â
The solution did *not* involve dealing with the autofill preferences in *any* way -- I've seen that option and it doesn't help (a) because there's no quick way to find the website where the problem is occurring (my list is long), (b) even when I go through my list, I don't see my bank's url, (c) the place for entering my login appears to be in something like JavaScript, so I'm not sure it'd be tracked in one of those lists, and (d) I don't know that this is properly an "autofill" problem anyway.Â

I am trying to recovery a file created in Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac. The file was lost after a power outage. In an attempt to recover the file, my first thought was to check for the file in the Microsoft AutoRecovery 2008 folder within my hardrive. However, the folder only contains a total of four files! Why? If my Microsoft Word is set up to auto save a document every 10 minutes...then how is it possible the folder could only contain 4 files? I am at a loss of how else to recover this file. I am currently attempting to do so with a free trial of Data Recovery Software to see if the file I lost even still exists, with no success so far.Â

I just removed over 1000 cookies. They were bogging the system down to the point of having some pages freeze. I then closed Safari. I launched Safari again a few minutes later and all the cookies were back, even though the only site I went to was the Apple open page.

I don't know any Thomson and I bought the machine, an MBA, brand new. However, I did have an engineer instal the machine in my apartment and can only assume he's the mysterious Thomson. Anyway, whoever he/she is, I don't want him/her on my machine as Shared & "connected as guest". The point is, I cannot find a way to delete Thomson!! Can anyone help? I've tried System Preferences>Security and Accounts and there's no trace of Thomson there. Right clicking on Thomson in the sidebar of Finder only gives me the option to Open and Get Info. Most annoying, this. There MUST be a way to delete a Sharing but totally unwanted guest....
