So after searching and figuring out how to change the default font for most everywhere on Pages [URL], I am still having trouble changing footnotes/endnotes to Times New Roman as the default font. On my desired document, I create a new footnote, type something, change the entire font to Times New Roman, then delete the footnote before saving as a template.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor reasons that I will not go into here, I have a first initial and middle name, not a first name and middle initial like most people. It played havoc with the registrar at my college. My Address Book card has my first name as "G" and my middle name as "Ralph". Whenever programs automatically fill in my name, they use my first initial only. For example, Pages puts my author name as "G Kuntz". Is there any way to get my default name to be "G Ralph Kuntz", other than setting my first name to "G Ralph" and my middle name to blank ("")?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just installed iWork '08 on my new Macbook pro (snow leopard and general '09 programs are on it) and for some reason, the text coloring and highlighting, generally anything to do with the text and whatever appears on the pages themselves have completely gone blank. The highlight appears as this light purplish color, I can not get the text to read as visible. It appears white no matter what. Even the text blinker isn't showing. Is there a problem with installing iWork '08 on an '09 based Mac? This is a legal copy of iWork I've had since buying my first Mac, so I know it can't really be the disc screwing up, is there anyone that might be able to help? This is an image of the problem. As you can see, the black is the default font color, but it does not show up as it. Also, the general coloration of it is off.

I am trying to use the new word processor pages. I am writing a scientific paper and need to use endnote to add citations to my paper. I have my citations on endnote. I have organized my citations following JAMA bibliographic style. In this style, the citations appear with a number in text in order of appearance, and then, in the reference list, it also appears with numbers first, not authors (annotated).
However, when I insert my citations in pages, the citations comes out annotated. What can I do to fix this. I do not want to replace every citation with a number in text and then do the same in the reference list. Any one have changed citations in text using pages application?
I see that when I open either one of my browsers, I switch between Firefox and Safari, the font is very small and I have to use CMD and the plus (+) key to increase the font.
How do I permanently keep it at a bigger default font?
Way back in typesetting days you could change fonts and sizes by simple macro commands without having to revert to your mouse and drop-down menus. Does anyone know how that can be achieved on the Mac?

Since I am not a native English speaker, I use this feature a lot, and it is very convenient. But the only thing that bugs me is that I cannot find any way to customise it. The black text on the translucent gray background makes it difficult to read depending on the background of the application. I want to change the background colour and the opacity.The text is too small. It does not change with the text size of the application. I want to enlarge the text size. Any way to increase this? With my screen at full resolution the print is very small and gives me headaches very quickly, so I have to set it to 1920x1080. I switched to Imac for processing photographs, so the advantage of a good quality screen is somewhat wasted. Also, at the lower resolution, the print is not so sharp.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my html signature in the notorious apple mail software. When I reply/forward to some messages, my email signature gets reformatted and is totally ruined. It is just the text, the font and the size are affected. The actual layout remains in tact. About 6 months ago I perfected a HTML email signature after many tests with PC's and other mail recipients. It worked pretty flawlessly to be honest except for the image not displaying on some peoples computers but this is to be expected.Â
We have now got new apple macs running lion. I have now set up the signatures again (using the same web archive file from the last signature) and for the majority of emails we send out works fine however there are a few emails (all from the same company) that display the signature with times new roman and in about 16pt! When the html I've sent up should be verdana 12pt.Â
Again this can happen, but what is odd is that if I hit reply or forward to this message my signature (which I've told it be place above replied text) retains this bad formatting and my signature is ruined. Before, even if someone didnt view my signature correct, and I replied to the email my new signature at the top of the message would still be perfect. Just to point out, I created this email sig in dreamweaver, saved as a webarchive file and imported it that way.Also like I said this didnt happen pre the new computer. Â

When printing from Address Book, the Style settings you select are supposed to be remembered as the default for the next time you print from that Style. For example, if you print an envelope from Address Book, you select Style: Envelopes and then choose your options such as "Print my address", Print Company, the font, page orientation, etc. Normally ALL of the options you select under "Style" are remembered for the next time you print and select that Style.
I know this because it works flawlessly on one of my machines (both machines are running 10.7.3). However, it doesn't work on another machine. For example, when I select Style: Envelopes and select a certain font and page orientation, etc., these selections are not remembered as the defaults when I try to print another envelope. I tried deleting the address book .plist files and restating Address Book, but it didn't work.
I'd like textedit to use a font that I choose everytime I open it.

That user was migrated from Leopard but I do not recall if it came over like that or I set it up. In another user on same MBP the Sidebar items are significantly larger (say 13pt) and I would like to change them to be about 9pt like my other user account.

I have some PDF forms that I regularly need to fill out. Since they aren't "real" PDF forms and the document is locked, I need to print to PDF, save as TIFF and then use Preview's annotate feature to mark things up. It works well, but the default font color (red) and default font size (36) are not optimal. And each time I start a new annotation, I need to change back to black and a smaller font size. Is there any way to alter this default?
